Yesss another MCR fanfic reader! Not only did I read fanfics, I used to buy every magazine with them in it that I could, cut out the articles and stick them on my bedroom wall. They're still a favourite 16 years later 😄
if you clamp those papers together and glue one side with pva you can make them into a paper pad

I can't believe how quickly you've become my comfort RUclipsr! I picked up a sewing pattern from 1968 today at a car boot sale! It's a pattern for a cute kind of mod-style pinafore dress, so that's my suggestion for the fabric! a kitschy cute pinafore in Mickey fabric lol
I’m a grown ass adult with a degree in English, and I still read fanfic (our flag means death is my current fav, since you asked for specifics). After reading so many classics and serious, usually sad stories, sometimes it just nice to watch two character you already know kiss and all that good stuff, lol.
KATHLEEN!! Your thrift gods blessings passed to me and I found so many cottage-core items and cool pants yesterday! I got a hand painted squirrel on a slice of wood, a little frog friend candle holder, and the cuuutest lil bowls with heart motifs. Also my shameful fanfiction reading moment was becoming so enthralled in a lotr fanfic that when a character died I sobbed uncontrollably. My precious mom was so confused because I couldn't explain it to her without crying even more.
Hot tip for the lazy rucher - instead of fussing with sewing a channel you can buy curtain pleating/ruching tape that comes pre assembled and you just sew it in place on the interior (not very pretty for the exterior)
Love the unhinged energy of revealing you reading fanfic when thrifting in public, could never be me 👀, but I guess I do admire it. aAnd I think that the layering-dress-quasi-pinafore from the disney sheet could look amazing, idw but the pattern gives pinaforeish/50's (?) vibes. Otherwise a pijama thing, even if less fun for sure.

I still read fanfic and I’m not embarrassed. I read fic for just about any show/movie/book series that interests me. I’m particularly weak for the grumpy one/the sunshine one pairings.
I read a tumblr post that talked about how fanfic is great for neurodivergent people because it’s a low effort high reward serotonin booster and it pays those rewards quickly because we already know the characters and the world they live in, and on Ao3 we can even filter the tags to find the tropes we’re in the mood for (and filter out triggering tags).
For the fabric all I can think of is the cute little romper/overall shorts I recently got for my nephew. They’re just cotton and baggy and have cute little buttons for the straps, just you know, grown up size lol. Pretty basic but with the print I think it would be fun

for the Disney material, I think you should go for a nice big circle skirt! could layer it nicely over jeans, other dresses, or wear as is

I have had that Mickey fabric/sheet since the 80's! I use it as a sheet at night when it's hot.
My family has that exact same Santa statue from the beginning! It was so tall to me when I was little that it was scary. I think back when it had a working battery, there was a bottom at the base to make him move and it would play Santa speaking lol

You can wrap rubber bands in one direction around the pad of paper then brush liquid glue to a free edge of the stack. Let dry and you have yourself a diy memo pad. 🤗

You can make it a block of tiny papers stick together! ijust hold them all straight, apply glue on one of the sides, white or transparent, leave them press for a while and that would hold them together, it won't be sticky when you take the pieces, buy hey, they won't fly away... :)
OMG! Watching you makes me want to run not walk to the thrift stores. Your thrift stores seem so much bigger and full of treasures. I went thrifting yesterday hit about 7 stores and only 1 out of them all was the mother load. I think I bought 6 or 7 tops from that one. I had my teenage son with me and he found only 1 book at the same place. It was a good day. 😁

You can use book binding glue from the craft store to make a paper block. Just clamp the pad then smear on the side you want glued 😁. Also works to make your own watercolor blocks… at a fraction of the cost of the commercial block pads!
That lamp in the thrift was BOMB! I would have totally brought it home and thrift-flipped the missing petals. I'm thinking some translucent tiles/colored glass cut to shape, or maybe even some layered tulle or thin fabric heavily starched into a panel to fit.
I totally cracked up when you talked about the tornado drills. YES, happens to me all the time. I'm in Michigan. I've lived here all my life, so you'd think I'd be used to it, but it does still catch me off-guard. Not EVERY time, but more often than it should.

I love the thrift stores in the US. Here in the UK we just have little charity shops and they just don't compare (I buy all my clothes on vinted rather than going to a shop!)

Stinky thrift store smells are a test to see just how dedicated you are to finding the good stuff. I brought home a skirt that absolutely reeked. Washed it and it was good to go!

Hey if you wanna make that paper stack into a lil glued stack: take the stack and use a wooden block or similar to knock it up so it's straight, put a weight of some kind on it, and then just brush P.V.A. onto one edge. Glued stack 4 u. ;)

Don't think I ever read MCR fanfic, or any other band fic for that matter, that was more my sister's thing. But I was big into Percy Jackson. Part of the reason I started thrifting was looking for plain orange shirts I could mess up making my own Camp Halfblood shirt ahaha
My gateway fanfiction was Powerpuff Girls in elementary school, but at this point in my life, I'll read fanfiction for any fandom I am familiar enough with 😅
