I just got a 6.5 prc. Already planning to get the 7 and 300. I think hornady hit a home run with these. The 6.5 will be my dedicated hunting rifle for now instead of my 308. Subscribed
I have the same muzzle brake and it is awesome!! Best one I have ever used! It drops more recoil than the others I've tried and it was cheaper. I have to 110 lite, which is grey and Brownings tungsten grey is a perfect match, as a bonus!
I watched Who Tee Who's review and bought the Trail Hunter in 7MM08. About to get the Vortex 4x16x44 on it and see how it does. I've already got bigger calibers I wanted something with low recoil but plenty of knock down power.
Awesome video. I have become a 7 PRC fan boy. I have the Mossberg Patriot Predator cerakote 7 PRC that I put in an Oryx chassis and a Vortex Venom 5-25X56 FFP scope (my favorite) on it. 3 shot group for hunting, which is my main activity, is .63 inches (.6 MOA.) That is mighty fine for hunting.
@@IfflandOutdoors Definitely. It is affordable. You can, I believe, get more length of pull buying spacers. Also, the butt pad has no give, at all, being hard plastic. Either get an Airtech slip-on from Limbsaver or, a Backstop recoil pad from Backire TV (Jim Harmer.) That was engineered for progressive recoil re-direction. It will tame that down to a pushy 308 without the jab. Nice thing about a chassis is that the entire thing is bedding. Torque action screws down to 60 in-lbs and it is steady as a rock. My TC Compass II in .308 is in an Oryx and shoots .54 inches hunting group.

Great video! I’ve put a recoil hawg on 2 rifles and it’s been great. I recently picked up a HUDU muzzlebrake and it claims 80-87% recoil reduction and man does it live up to it!! If you decide to use another brake I’d highly suggest you give one of those a shot!
Really great review. You showed also an M18 in the vid. Im about to buy my first hunting rifle and thinking about an m18 or thies 110 wich one do you like more? Kind regards from Germany
Being that ammo for decent 7 prc is above 50$ for 20 rounds and only 125 fps faster with 10 more grains I’m finding it hard to justify it over the original 7 mag thoughts ?
7 mag ammo isn’t much cheaper if at all these days. If it was still $20-$30 a box like it was 4 years ago I may have held off. I upgraded for 3 reasons. 1 my 7mag didn’t have a threaded barrel 2. I was running low on 7mag ammo 3. I wanted greater accuracy out of my hunting rifle. 7 PRC is a more technologically advanced cartridge so it is inherently more accurate. My 7PRC groups better than my 7mag and I feel like you’d need a high end 7mag rifle to compete with a $600 7PRC rifle when it comes to accuracy. But if you have a stock pile of 7mag ammo and a rifle that you are happy with that groups under 1MOA consistently I’d agree that there isn’t much reason to upgrade at this time.
I mean I have a cheap savage in 7 mag that throw bs Corlokt ammo and groups on average less than .75 groups at 100 so idk the round definitely isn’t inherently more accurate just because it’s new and or would have to have a very expensive platform to compete but really my thoughts are I’d like to get this rifle but stuck on what I want as far as caliber
If you have a 7mag that shoots well with "cheap" ammo I don't see much of a reason for you to get it in 7PRC. The Trail Hunter has plenty of caliber options and I dont think you will be disappointed by the rifle its solid!
Yea I like the platform for sure was hoping they would have the 22 creedmoor as a option or ever 22-250 as I have enough 30 cal and 7mm stuff really just wanting something that’s a big difference in the original calibers I have but on a decent platform that isn’t killing the pocket
1. Non belted case. (Matters if you reload) 2. 1:8 twist (ability To accurately shoot heavy, higher bc bullets 3. Larger case capacity 4. A reason to buy a new gun!
Thanks for the great video. If you reload ammunition, you should be better than others. It's a guess. Personally, Im a hunter too and reload. By all means I'm not precision shooter too
Skip the pic rail and those rings. Get Talley 20moa cant 1 piece scope rings. It will bring your scope way down, and the rings and mounts are one piece.
It's not a lead sled there are no weights it simply helps to ensure your sight is steady and level during sight in. impact on recoil is minimal at best lol. I used the same set up with my 7mag and the recoil reduction from the muzzle break on the 7PRC is significant as the 7PRC should have more felt recoil than the 7mag
It was a little high on my shoulder due to the high rest and low shot angle but it definitely kicks much harder than the trail hunter with the muzzle break.
Congratulations on great groups. Thank you for producing this video. Enjoyed it!!!

Yes I agree Hornady has something special with the PRC line. Thanks for the sub!
Hornady needs to start ramping up bullet production. Sucks to buy a gun with no bullets available. If your lucky and ya find any they are pricey.
@@tompanek7511 no problem finding them in my area but agreed they are pricey!
How is the 300 WSM anyone?

Great vid Man. Nice rifle!
Thank you!
Sweet bud congrats...
Always put a neutral lateral brake on your rifles. It makes a world of differience
Measure C-C not edge to edge. The center is where the bullet hit. Nice group.
Great video! 2.5 of your 11lbs is that Arken lol! They're great scopes but they are heavy.
Heavy but worth the weight!
Seems very capable. Why the high rings? Seems backwards to use high rings and then get the cheek riser to compensate.
I went with the high rings to give myself a little more clearance when working the bolt.
@@IfflandOutdoors Hey, a personal preference! Gives it some flavour.
He’s rite bro! Use med rings and your groups will tighten up! But don’t take our word for it. Do you if like stretching ya neck to see the target

is that cheek riser working out? i got the arken sh4j on mine.
I have 2 custom 7prc both shoot .32 groups bUT I have shot 8 other brands they all shot 1moa very low recoil
Where did you get the cheek riser?
Which rail is that?
Is this Hogue stock the one with the aluminum bedding block
Yes it is
No it is not.
Why does it say 2 cartridge mag online but its actually 3?
Is it still working ok with 3?
not sure but it definitely holds and functions with 3 rounds
You and Who are putting me in the poor house. lol
Damn straight wall state.
It comes in 350 & 450 Legend
What pic rail you have on it? I can't find one that fits..

Ill have to check that out thanks for the recommendation
Sorry about that recoil comparison, 7mm mag free hand shot. 7mmprc a very heavy leadslead the rifle didn't appear to be touching you at all.
Ya you're right a muzzle break has no effect on recoil. haha
If you can get rid of the flinch you have at the shot you’ll be much better.
