- I am back with another super easy student recipe, today we have creamy tomato sausage pasta sauce! This recipe makes enough for two portions so you can have one tonight and freeze the other portion for another night when you don't fancy cooking! This is a super cheap recipe to make, go for budget brands and you will save yourself lots of money!
Ingredients:
1 tbsp oil
1/2 onion, diced or 1/2 cup frozen diced onions
1 tsp frozen chopped garlic or 1 clove, chopped
2 pork sausages, skins removed
1 400g tin chopped tomatoes
250ml passata
1 tsp dried rosemary
1 heaped tbsp cream cheese
salt and pepper
Method
1. Add the oil to a frying pan and then add the diced onion and garlic and cook until soft.
2. Once soft, add the sausages in and break them up with the back of a spoon. Cook for 5 minutes on a medium heat.
3. Add the chopped tomatoes, passata, rosemary and cream cheese. Season well and leave to cook for around 10 minutes.
4. Enjoy over pasta! Leave the leftover portion to cool completely before adding to a labelled freezer bag and freezing flat.
Yum!

Love the Batch Lady. One thing I find annoying is she never explains how to cook from frozen. Do I let in fully defrost and can I heat in microwave?
Sounds nice, but that's a lot of tomatoes for only two sausages, is that right? A tin of tomato and passata?
If it makes more than two portions remember you can freeze it.
I love the budget friendly recipes, but you are assuming students know how to cook
That’s the purpose of the videos to show them how to cook ? 🤔
