Garry looks like good help. If he was my assistant by episode 2 I'd probably be watching days of our lives on the sofa while he changed tires or something.
Thanks Gus! Next video will be vapor blasting the entire engine together, doing a little bit of grinding on the frame, and some other fun stuff. Thanks for watching 🔥
@@mxrevival Nothing gets past me brother ;) I don't get to all but when Baby G wants to relax for a second, you know what we are throwing on haha. Of course I have ear muffs when necessary 🤣loving it Charles!
Miss my 1987 RM125 build. Was such a fun bike. I wish i could keep them all. After selling it 4 years ago it wound up finding a great home with a collector who just happened to buy my 1983 YZ490 build. Have to do another RM after all these CR's i have to finish.
Love the old rm's trying to find a 92 worth restoring so looking forward to this. Best of luck to Garry im sure he'll learn alot working with a pro like you 👍
Like I keep saying I just love this bike! First modern 250 two sroke I got to ride as a kid...can't wait to see this done! I can appreciate the customization, but man, the stock colors and graphics are so good looking to this day!
They hit a nerve, don't they? I was actually after a complete set of stock 89 decals, so clean! Then our guy Mike went the extra mile on over the top "80's kits". I couldn't deny him 🔥
Great timing!! I'm actually rebuilding a '89 RM250 right now (really!!). Gotta admit that it's amazing at what abuse a previous owner(s) can do mechanical wise (aka using SAE bolts instead of metric bolts). Will have to checkout your graphics and wider foot pegs install. Springs are also on order (.44kg in the forks, 5.4Kg in the shock), and possibly a 18" rear wheel.
We're going to have some fun! I agree, sometimes you've gotta scratch your head. Got lucky with this cutie, for her age! May I ask where you found springs for an 89? I only know of one place that has to make them for my fat ass! Thanks in advance!
Upper triple clamp looks like chrome powder coat or what ever chrome paint the use at the factory. Chrome powder coated my YZ490 build upper clamp and it came out looking like that one.
That's good insight. It almost looks clear, so we'll have to do a test on the bottom of it to see what happens with the abrasives? It's crazy how close it actually looks to the gloss of vapor blasting, just with a coating over it 🤷
Absolutely, we can do them for you literally anytime. They are ready to go! Just blast me an email when you're ready and we'll build your kit and apply your discount of course! www.mxrevival.com/contact Right now the only place I have found plastics would be on the UFO website, as normally would be able to supply those too but not in this case. us.ufoplast.com/?gclid=CjwKCAjw4JWZBhApEiwAtJUN0M9SEKN9-bTsDCeimM9pMcm08enSv5RRP2srzjzj1gzA5UEKAaBmMhoCakAQAvD_BwE Thanks for watching!
I’m very interested to see how those mismatch cases half’s match up. I myself had the lower chain guide mount hacked off by the chain not running the guard and was told by some (professionals) that Suzuki specifically need to be match sets form the factory… If you look at the bottom end parts fiche you’ll notice the cases are only sold as sets unlike Honda where you can by either the left or the right side. Iv heard of guys having trouble with certain mating surfaces etc. that’s what iv been told idk either way I hope your goes together no problem and i can find out if I was getting my leg pulled
Hi dude, I won't actually be using them. Ended up having some damage in the crankshaft area of those cases. But you're right, and I believe the term is called "line bored" that requires cases be used as matching sets. That's how they are manufactured together unlike some of the cases you can swap in like you mentioned with the Honda. It's definitely a real thing! Thank you for watching 💪
I'm not sure, worth a shot. I know they have different cylinder head gasket types. Pay close attention to the power valve assembly and how they are each actuated. You might get away with it
I'll explain the best I can. There is a brass insert in the plastic mold of the tank that must come out. This requires heat. Heat to the point where the plastic around the insert starts to melt and it can be extracted. And you can put a new insert in. I have a friend who I've seen do it, and who filmed a video doing it. I know the next time I get stuck in that position, I'm going to fall back on that video. Feel free to send me an email anytime, and I can see if I can dig that video back up and give you a link. Worst case my buddy will probably do it for you as he builds bikes for a living as well. www.mxrevival.com/contact
Ahh yes been looking forward to seeing this build! Welcome to the crew Garry👊
Hope DAD LYFE is treating you well, homie! Shoot me a call when you're free 🔥
Completed a 1991 RM125 and it is brand new inside and out. Looking forward to this build series.
Oh hell yes 🔥 I picked up a 90 RM125 too!
it's cool that we are building the exact same bike at the same time!
IT SURE IS 😍
Reminds me of the 89 rm250 I did a total rebuild of in 1991. Brings back alot of memories 👍

I want a 95 casereed rm250. I bought a 96 cr250 and the rm handled rode way better than my cr.
Will the graphics be available? I’d like to have a set for my 94 RMX I’ve collected everything to clone a 89 RM
