    Great series of videos. I have a question , though....when I set the ISO range and minimum shutter speed and then go back to the quick menu it shows the ISO as 100, not as ISO Auto. Have a done something wrong?

    Pre-burpbing sounds great, also in situations where you are diving in rather low-vis water, where you might want some clean water in front of the lens

    Backscatter Crew (Robin), AWESOME videos first off! Will you do a video with the TG-6 using the M52 Wide Angle Air Lens? In your review you mention it is great for both wide and macro so I went with this lens. Thank you and keep up the VIDEOS!! Cheers

    Is the Backscatter M52 Air Lens the same as the AOI UAL-05 lens?

    Hey, I am using the tg 6 for snorkeling and I am wondering of strobes are absolutely neccessary for shooting white angle? Thanks!

    • @backscatteruw
      @backscatteruw  Год назад

      Strobes aren't "necessary" because you will have plenty of natural light to work with, but they will open up different photographic opportunities for you.

    I have a TG-6 ,Olympus housing, Backscatter m52 wide air lens and backscatter double handle tray. I've used it for snorkeling and shallow dives, but found that I need flash. At least to start with I'm doing more wide angle shots and found you have recommend using 2 sea and sea ys-01. Are these still a good choice? Do they work well with macro too? Would 2 of your Backscatter mini work just as well?
    Thanks

      The Backscatter MF-2 would be our first choice, and they are also amazing for macro

    Are the Settings the same when i had the RC Mode on the TG6 and at the new Sea&Sea YS-D3 Duo Strobes with RC Mode?

    • @backscatteruw
      @backscatteruw  11 месяцев назад +1

      Yes, you can use all the same settings, the only thing difference is changing the Flash setting to RC

    Question Robin: if the settings are configured to set the iso to auto with the parameters selected, and the shutter speed also tweaked, can the camera still function well with C1 or C2 being configured for macro settings? Typically a iso100 with f16 - f18 being normal macro shooting, will this be untenable during the dive without going back and "releasing" those preset parameters for the wide angle?

    • @backscatteruw
      @backscatteruw  4 года назад

      Not sure I totally understand the question. Ideally you would have wide angle settings configured for one of the custom modes, and macro settings for the other. You certainly wouldn't want to be shooting wide angle at f/16-f/18, because that means that your lens is zoomed in too far to be practical for wide angle.

      @@backscatteruw thanks for the reply. I had figured the issue out already. My question was somewhat framed incorrectly. I was asking if the settings you reconvened for shooting WA would essentially "lock" the camera into that setting whether in C1 or C2? The answer was NO. Either custom mode could be preset with the AutoISO, with constraint settings for IOS and shutter speed, without affecting the camera settings in the other custom mode.
      Thanks again.

    Please can you tell me the best deep underwater setting when not using a strobe for both macro and wide.

    • @backscatteruw
      @backscatteruw  2 года назад

      There isn't really one setting that applies to shooting both of those styles. Feel free to give us a call or send us an email at info@backscatter.com and we can provide some specific settings advice for you.

    Would a bright video light work in the place of strobes?

    • @backscatteruw
      @backscatteruw  2 года назад

      No not quite. Video lights do not function the same way as strobes and/or a flash. See the Part 2: Photos with a Video Light guide for a more detailed explanation.

    I'm mainly taking portraits in caves. How should I set the initial exposure if only using strobes or should I have a video light on my rig as well?

    • @backscatteruw
      @backscatteruw  3 года назад

      Just take a test shot and adjust from there. No real need for a video light unless the camera is struggling to acquire focus in that low light environment.

    I just bought the TG-6 and the wide angle lens and adapter. Will this lens work in air AS WELL as underwater?

    • @backscatteruw
      @backscatteruw  3 года назад

      Technically yes, but you may have to zoom in a bit to avoid vignetting. The image quality may also not be ultimately as sharp as the results underwater.

    Thanks for sharing the great videos. Is there also no vignetting when shooting the TG-6 on 25mm or is it necessary to zoom in a bit? Thanks for the feedback and looking forward to your next videos.

    • @backscatteruw
      @backscatteruw  3 года назад +1

      There is no vignetting at any zoom level with the Backscatter M52 Wide Angle & Air Lenses on the Olympus housing.

    Do you think the TG-series will be discontinued as Olympus will shut down their camera segment?

    • @TheBronzorN
      @TheBronzorN 4 года назад

      Sure, they will stop producing cameras, and offcourse this will include the tg series aswell

    • @backscatteruw
      @backscatteruw  4 года назад

      Absolutely not. Olympus is not shutting their imaging business down, they are selling it. As of now the plan is still to produce new cameras and develop new features. We fully expect the TG camera line to continue in the future.

    • @backscatteruw
      @backscatteruw  4 года назад

      This is not entirely accurate. Olympus is selling this portion of their business, not shutting it down.

      @@backscatteruw but their camera division are not going well, so the new owner will most likely shut it down 🥴

    I’m going done for every step. When I set it on Aperture. I notice your screen says 1600 F2.0 0.0......
    my screen on shows 30 f2.0 no 0.0... either. Why are they different?

    • @backscatteruw
      @backscatteruw  4 года назад +2

      It could be because of the flash setting. Is your flash set to 'off', or otherwise?

    Can 2 pcs of this strobe shot photo of whale shark size object?

    • @backscatteruw
      @backscatteruw  6 месяцев назад

      Hi, it is very difficult to light something the size of a whale shark with any type of artificial lighting, like strobes or video lights. These subjects are usually a bit too big to completely light, and are most often shot with ambient light. For shooting large subjects, a pair of wide angle strobes would provide the best results. If you have any questions on the type of strobes needed or what your setup would require to shoot larger scenes and subjects, email us at sales@backscatter.com or give us a call at 1-831-645-1082!
