Awesome video. As a relatively new owner of a boat with an 8V92, I learned quite a bit.

Your video is both helpful and accurate. I have a Viking with 8V92 DDEC for many years. I watched your video to refresh how the four O rings fit in. I had forgotten the flange on the heat exchanger had to be bent to prevent flow. Good job. Very accurate and informative.

New subscriber here. Great video. Definitely not a DIY project. I have 6V92 TAB's @ 550hp. I need to have the heat exchangers done this year. Keep the videos coming!

I have an 8v92 that’s running hot under load.. just had the heat exchanger serviced so now you got me thinking about those flaps on the core.. going to take it apart myself and check those. Thank you sir

Thanks for the feed back, summer months also contribute fast growing barnacles on the bottom of the boat as well. Engine load is always a factor of elevated temps.

I just bought a 49 Gulfstar with 671 DD in Tampa area. I cannot get a mechanic to do basic maintenance. If I was in S FL I don't think I would be a problem, but need to have everything checked before taking it anywhere!

Excellent video. At the beginning of the video, you mentioned you are in South Florida. I am in Cape Coral and have a Californian 55 with the V92s and I would like to know if you can do the maintenance demonstrated in the video.

Sometimes people assume small amounts ofvlost antifreeze is going in the oil. In reality it's going out with the raw water because of those sealing rings. The pipes/flanges/glands get a little corroded and not smooth enough to seal perfectly.

There is a weep hole in the seal cavity that will let you know if the core or the sealing surface has imperfections with a visible leak.

Do you torque all your bolts to spec or do you just get them good and tight?

@@donvandieselkellogg1233 Explaining why along with the how helps me to remember. Bending the vents was something not everyone knows more importantly.. just how critical it is to do it.
