You can´t satisfy people who are searching for excuses, but for the people who search for ways to make things happen, he is the best choice possible. Zakk is a legend by himself, got a wylde playstyle and got a real connection to the Darrels. What if there were no Pantera "Tribiute"? Then we would have nothing but old fading memories, telling the kids about the old better times ... I personally love everything about the new Pantera and i personally hope for some new music. It will also help Zakk and Charlie to step out of these giant shadows to show their true awesomeness.

I always though Dime & Zakk played very similar apart from the Whammy pedal & whammy bar tricks so I think Zakk is perfect for the spot

I think that it would be almost insulting to have Zakk try and do his version of Dime. The bottom line is that it's Pantera with Zakk, and that's what it sounds like. The one positive is that at least Phil doesn't sound like Vince Neil up there panting for breath after the first verse and struggling to breathe. I originally wasn't too keen on the idea of a Pantera tribute, but I think they have handles it well. There's no way to know what Rex and Phils motivations truly are as far as tribute or money, but does it really matter? I am only bummed that I will not get to go to one of the shows. I remember seeing Pantera at least a dozen times in the 90's and having the pleasure of meeting Vin and Dime was the highlight of my concert going life.

Zakk wylde is amazing and I am so happy that he joined pantera for the tribute concert tour.

It's not smart saying "it's just online". Ola, yours and many other's career is almost entirely based on "just online". Discarding opinions of "just online" people says that nobody is entitled to an opinion unless they kiss ass in person.

I watched Vulgar Vids daily though high school as well, and oddly enough, as Ive played guitar most of my lifetime, I never really learned any of thier songs.
It was almost "too sacred" if that makes sense.
Since Covid started i said, "fuck it" and ive worked my way thru VDoP, TGSTK and Reinventing almost completely and its been so fulfilling.
Dime WOULD be proud, and the although The Trend is Dead, The Vibe is Alive!
Only problem with pantera is dimes solos are part of the song it’s self and not just a lead over the rhythm . So when zakk is not playing the leads note for note it’s like throwing song off . People went to hear pantera for dimes leads and know them by heart even if they don’t play
After watching the PanterA home videos, I think Dimebag would want Ola to make left handed Type-X guitars (like he said he would).. J/S.
The people who knew Dime best also think that Zakk is the best fit to honour Dime's legacy. The people who are shitting on Zakk aren't qualified to be making such judgements.

I'll admit I was a bit on the fence about the whole thing, but by the same token I should also admit I was just looking for things to nitpick about while ignoring the bigger picture. Overthinking for caring if you will. That's gonna be my excuse anyway :)
The people that complain are the people that are in it for the complaining part. Why would a Pantera fan not want the world to listen to Pantera songs played live in 2023 (and 22). This kind of music is made for live audience. I was to young to be able to see them back in the day... but now I have a second change and I am so grateful for that. Zack and Charlie are doing a stellar job and the brothers would LOVE that people are able to listen to their music. And to the audience that dont like it... listen to something else and let us enjoy
I'm for the world to listen to Pantera songs but not under Pantera name. Pretty sure a lot of people would like to see Led Zeppelin or The Beatles, since some members of those bands are still alive but is it possible? No Abbotts = No Pantera.
I love ya Ola but Zakk never mentions Atilla Voros... he's the ULTIMATE guitarist that pulls off Dimebag solo's, more so than you and I"m sure you agree. I find all the talking points excusing Zakk from doing a sloppy job to be laughable... using the "Dime would want him to play it his way" excuse is lame... Dime is dead, Pantera fans that go see Pantera tribute bands want to hear Dime's work come to LIFE in reality... I'd argue most old skool Pantera fans want to hear Pantera songs the way it's meant to be played since Zakky boi is standing there under the Pantera banner... but instead, we get a half assed not as good as Pantera cover bands version with the excuse of "Oh, it's what dime would of wanted". What about the fans and what they want to hear? Apply the same logic to Benante changing Vinnies drum grooves, patterns and fills and you would all lose your mind but accept this b.s from Zakk.... it blows my mind. To each their own but you're all wacky modern tolerant Pantera fans that accept lazyness... If it wasn't under the Pantera banner then I could make the same excuse but not in this case. Nobody wants to hear an orchestra play Mozart with a hot shot violinist doing his interpretation of a classic and playing it wrong and I don't see the difference here.... yes dime use to interpret solo's from other bands and make it his own but he wasn't playing under the banner of THOSE bands as a replacement guitarist so I don't accept the connection or the fact that he was "friends" with him so that's why he doesn't play it properly...
