Tbh, I didn’t expect to be the winning bidder and I’m not yet invested in the Sony eco system. I may have a play and sell it on, or I may convert to Sony. Currently I use Olympus em1 ii and em10iii and have my fair share of mft lenses. The weather sealed and range finder style of the a6300 is appealing though and that’s why I got it. The lack of ibis may pull me back to Olympus. One other thing I think will irritate me is lack of dual dials on the top plate, but I’ll play with an open mind and see how I feel. At least one camera will be sold after I’ve had a play with it.
I have a Sony a7iii I just bought a used a6300+kit lens, with under 7000 shutter for 450€. The a6300 is great for Street photography, very compact with great features, also it extends my ff lenses 1.5x, great alternative to a similarly priced teleconverter, if you don't mind the crop sensor.
I'd still recommend an a6300 to people in 2020 for sure. I mean I shoot on an a6000 that I baught for $200 US and I've pulled off some amazing street photography work with it. I'm most likely going to upgrade to the a6600 in May though so I can have weather sealing, in body stabilization, and then also get the 16-55 f2.8 but that's big money that I'd never recommend the casual or enthusiast photographer to buy personally. I'm just ready to step into the world of more professional work so I'm springing for a bit better body and glass to go along with that. But as for the topic of the video really the a6100, a6300, and even the a6400 are all wonderful options for the beginner or enthusiast photographer and I would definitely recommend any of them.

The sigma trio is amazing! Then I like the sony 10-18, sony 35m and the 18-105. Then getting some vintage lenses is super fun (and they are most often very cheap!)
I actually never buy tech that's less than 5 years old except when I really need it for a specific purpose. Thus, I get to enjoy all the new products of 2016 this year, while paying a fraction of their original cost :D

Hello, nice review! For streaming use, would you choose it over the older a5100 sand over the newer a6100? Because the a6300 can be found cheaper than the a6100 since it's older, but quality should be the same

its worth it in my honest opinion. I've owned it for 3 years till it finally had some shutter stuck issue and I layed it to rest lol.(rip tho) Ive got work on my channel anyones wanting to see footage paired with a Sigma 18-35mm
from what ive heard in the past these cameras overheat easily so no wonder it can handle cold weather well, if whatevr ive heard is true, maybe thats just for video recording, idk
How have you recorded all your videos? I heard this camera over heats after 20min. Do you film for 20, stop filming then wait and then film later? That would be a pain to do if filming RUclips videos.
Hello Arnúlfur. I uploaded some videos to RUclips for fun before but only recently taking this seriously. Watched your video and convinced myself to get a Sony A6300 to replace my trusty 12 years old Canon EOS500D. Limitation is Canon 500D does not clean video output. It’s a great camera. I love mine. I have an A7r2 also. I grab the a6300 a lot more because it’s so compact and it shoots great photos and video, too. I use the a7r2 mostly for landscape. I Love the a6300.
Loved your honesty and review .... TQ
The a6300 overheating issues apparently still plagues this camera, but unless you live in an icecube...
that's maybe why it never really bothers me that much. Unless I'm indoors and filming for 30min + it never over heats lol
Ahh youre the perfect person to learn from since i want to do photography in iceland when i visit again. Could you tell me if this camera accepts micro four third lens from panasonic/olympus?
love this video! u r very enthusiastic and i love it!
I love this guy! Very cool dude. Subed right away.
Thank you!
Thank you for the video now I'm convinced to save and buy this camera as beginners..
Yea it's superb for beginners, I still grab it even tho I own better cameras :)
chaning the title each time a new year comes around is a dirty tatic
Tactic*
Hungry for views? content that bad?@@thaticelandicguy
@@superbikeaborad Or he's still so confident in the camera's capabilities and doesn't feel the need to do another video?
thank you so much! this is so useful x
At first I love the A6500 but my budget only allowed the A6000. Luckily we have Sigma lenses :D
so true!
I'm planning on buying it!!...wow that helped alot 😍😍
Awesome, thanks I’ll be buying one just from this vid, just subscribed, I’m a beginner and I’ll be getting into some photography for personal use. Which gimbal can I equip with and also what app do you use to put everything into a video? Thanks in advance.
😍 my future camera, thanks!!
Thanks for the review I am going to go ahead and get one.
What are your top 5 picks for lenses after using the Sony a6300 for so long? Maybe geared towards beginners and at different price points
I'm a beginner Wedding Photographer and Ceremony Photographer. I haved a Nikod D5000. It-s too old. I want to switch to the Sony! I have a medium budget! Sony A7 or Sony 6300.What do you offer, with what lens? Sony 18-105 F4 is goof for weddings and portraits too?
Hello, nice review! For streaming use, would you choose it over the older a5100 sand over the newer a6100? Because the a6300 can be found cheaper than the a6100 since it's older, but quality should be the same
Can you do a video on how to manage the setting for a perfect clear shoot
Pleaseee
So whats a good landscape lens with the 6300?
I should message you next time I am in Iceland. You are lucky to live in such a beautiful county. Great video.
Thanks!
The SONY A6300's main shortcoming is getting overheat. Then you nailed it by using it in Iceland.
Hahahaha yes,
Thanks for the advice. I'm a beginner, will definitely look into the A6300 now :) @4:57 Do you remember which lens you were using, that is some crisp image!
I just bought myself an a6300 because of this video! What would be your lens recommendation to achieve a cinematic style, great depth of field but also wide look? I want a Sigma 16mm 1.4 but it's a touch expensive! Thanks man.
your video has very useful information for me thanks
Thnk you!! Motivated to start using this beauty
Well if you have no use for it you can always send it my way lol
Hahah i finally have 2 cameras boy!!
I had the 6300 for almost 3 years and I decided to buy the 6400 and sell my 6300 but than i had a second thought and decided to keep it and i shot my latest video ruclips.net/video/ogNFoXuYIFY/видео.html
with both of them.
Great video! Would you recommend Sony a6300 + Sigma 16mm F1.4 for guitar and music videos if I wanted to make very good quality videos (better than smartphone)? Both in the room and outside when it's warm :D I'm a total beginner in terms of photography, making videos etc. Thank you!
its worth it in my honest opinion.
I got mine for a bargain and shot my short film yesterday.
That's awesome!
Still own the 6300. Bang for the buck
true!
How have you recorded all your videos? I heard this camera over heats after 20min. Do you film for 20, stop filming then wait and then film later? That would be a pain to do if filming RUclips videos.
What’s a lens you’d recommend for this camera?
Hello Arnúlfur. I uploaded some videos to RUclips for fun before but only recently taking this seriously. Watched your video and convinced myself to get a Sony A6300 to replace my trusty 12 years old Canon EOS500D. Limitation is Canon 500D does not clean video output. The autofocus square dances all over when in use. It's Sept 2020 and is Sony 6300 still recommended? No over heating issues?
