    Paul, that was astoundingly beautiful. It took me back to when my parents told me they selected this piece to be played at their wedding in 1946. It has always been a favorite. They have both been with their Lord and Savior now for almost 10 years and at times like this I miss them so. Paul thank you so much for achieving the emotional level that you do when you play. You deserve all the best, and much success.

    I absolutely love this piece, and I don't think this rendition can be surpassed. I have listened to it about 10n times in the last few weeks. Mr Barton, you have given this old man a great deal of pleasure.

    Even though Bach's main body of work was written primarily for the pipe organ masters, this one piece from his contata 208, has been performed on just about every type of instrument ever built, but down through the ages it has been a perfect fit for piano.
    Nice performance, Paul.

      My technique is to imagine the main voice and the accompaniement apart even though you use your right hand to play both. This way, it feels to me as hard as playing two voices. Hope this helps :-)

    Bach is so remarkable. It's almost as if he could convey the whole range of human emotion perfectly and at the same time technically. Almost like saying a word so perfectly that it's almost divine or not of this earth. To me, his music echo's in my soul. Gently whispering emotions I can't convey better than I could ever explain. I can't imagine life w/ out his music. Bach was a gift to all of us from God. Thank you Mr. Barton.

    • @davelee8961
      @davelee8961 3 года назад +1

      Very well said! When you listen to the different parts interacting in his music, it can only come from God. And the emotional resonance at the same time can just floor you.

      @@davelee8961 Yes! Exactly! That's in essence what I mean. A man of such dedication and sternness to his craft. Sometimes Stubborn and willful with an insane work output of material and yet there is this emotional heft that is almost impossible to explain. The vastness of human emotion he was able to place inside his compositions. The only word for it I can think of without being overstated is supernatural.

    It is an aria from cantata 208, and it is not Lipatti transcription, neither Ignaz Friedman transcription, so I guess it is a Barton transcription, and it is very nice. The chords in left hand gives a nice quiet mood, "grazing" I think, and the chords emphasize the quality of a superb instrument :)
