Yes, I *think* this could be my new favorite reading and performance of this. A nice, expressive tempo, yet just a bit slower that what I've heard in other performances - though I *like it* - she gets a couple of extra notes in the trills this way, while still sounding so elegant.
It is an amazingly serene experience for us, esp. In these turbulent times. I can't help but think how a newborn or child would react to this. It would be the most peaceful and perfect lullaby. Polina has a deep understanding of Bach music.

Once I had enough Russian to negotiate the Streets of Petersburg, but not enough to say in her own language what I feel and think as she plays. I am revisiting Russian in the hope I could even approximate but my Russian will never be equal to my estimate of her as a person, as a musician. Had I known she existed earlier I would have been more assiduous in my Russian. But I will work at it, just so my words are not an empty gesture or mere flattery.

So true Andrew...too many other showy pianists on youtube today, even amongst those playing this piece- some body movements seems inappropriate n seems to be for showy display only.! However Polina does not do that in this piece. There are other body movements and hand movements that are totally appropriate while playing the piano tho😊. Polina expresses it all Beautifully in this piece.

I've listened to a number of performances of this by now, and I like this tempo that is a bit slower than what I've heard before. Polina is obviously a very fine pianist, and this is just a beautiful playing of this Bach piece! Of the ones I've heard, I think this is the most sensitive and smoothest performance.

After listening to Osetinskaya performing several Bach pieces I'm left with an unexpected impression. I have the feeling that she allows the music to play itself, and she iis just the carrier of it. She doesn't impose herself on the piece. I love a lot of Bach renditions by others, but in them I feel as if the pianist is showing his or her interpretation. With Osetinskaya, it's the music.
The visual should not intrude into one's appreciation of music but I confess that this elegant figure, alone at the keyboard, in a simple black dress [she always seemms to wear a black dress for public recitals and concerts] adds to the limpid beauty of her music. It is difficult, visually, as well as aurally, to resist her infinite charm of presence as well as er consumate musicianship. It is so exquisite and restful. Just the conditions to listen to Bach.

As a pianist, I can really appreciate the difficulty in making those mid range voices so clear when you're also playing chords with high notes. The polyphony is not lost on me. Truly one of the most difficult aspects of the piano, and she does it effortlessly. Great tempo control, as well.

We wait impatiently for Polina in London and can only hope that she soon will record the F Minor Concerto and so be the veritable heir to Edwin Fischer and Lukas Foss. I have particularly liked this interpretation that differs from the rest of the performers on RUclips. Polina plays it a bit slower and that brings out that special divine air of dignity and spiritual cleansing qualities that can be found in Bach’s music. Also, I think it will be easier to sing along for most people e.g. present at the sermon in a church who are not professional performers and may not be able to keep a higher pace. Very charming and thoughtful presentation! Loved it.

J'ai découvert cette pianiste sur le concerto n°1 de Bach 1052. Depuis, je n'arrive pas à m'en remettre. L'émotion est toujours aussi grande même après avoir écouté ces morceaux à plus de vingt reprises.
Je rêve de la voir en France. Un jour peut-être ?
