So glad to see someone else who really enjoyed this book and appreciated the paranormal aspects! I agree that having paranormal and normal twists made it great! I knew Katherine was going to be possessed after her drowning incident and what Eli said but I definitely was not expecting Casey's husband to be involved at all!! So good.
🙌 I’m impressed you saw it coming. I was definitely blind sided which made the reading experience wild 😂 I’m glad you enjoyed it too! At least one person agreed
I loved this book, I love the way Riley writes. I did enjoy the paranormal twist BUT I wished the synopsis/beginning of the book would’ve hinted that there was going to be an unrealistic paranormal thing at play so it wouldn’t have been such a “huh??” moment if that makes sense! Edit* I realized Eli did hint at it but I think we don’t considerate because it was more a ghost story by the fire, maybe if there was a past incident with that being like the urban legend it would’ve been better.
Yeah I totally wish there was more hinting because ghost stories by the fire are pretty common in stories. I definitely was so shocked that I laughed at the reveal and it took me a solid 30 minutes of processing before I moved on in the book 🤣
I’ve been wanting to read this book, thinking it was a lesbian strangers to friends to lovers thing. And then I watch this video because so many people on TikTok don’t like it. So while watching this video I’m like 🤯 because it’s so crazy and it’s such a different story than I expected. I’m so excited to read it now
I loved it !! At first i thought that it was tom too but the fact that casey was torturing him in the now is wild. I really didnt know what to expect! Its my first riley sager book, and it did not disappoint!☺️
I liked this book a lot more than Behind Her Eyes, mostly because of the writing style and the murder mystery vibes. They have similar twists, but this book did it sooo much better.
A bit late to the game here having recently read the book. Great spoiler video. Definitely had my jaw open a few times throughout the book. I enjoyed reading it overall and appreciated how shockingly unpredictable it was.
I am a big fan of RS but this book ends up meh for me. I hated the paranormal twist I can't believe Riley went for that. Anyway, it's not a bad book but not for my taste. Glad you enjoyed it.

When the twist happened, I rolled by eyes and DNF
Yeah, it seems like that was the general reaction. 🤣

I literally want to read this again before his next book comes out, to see if I can pick up on hints better on the second read through lol

Thank you for letting me know! Hopefully for the next one he doesn’t go for that paranormal twist
The paranormal twists gave me Chucky vibes like the movies possession of a body lol
🤣
I really enjoyed it
Did NOT like! #sorryNotsorry
