Excellent idea and Tool Sir. I have been dismantling pallets for a few years and found that by using a punch to hammer and shock the nail in first and then hitting it on the reverse side I get almost a 100% extraction rate. The majority of pallets that I denail here in England have glue on the nails or are badly rusted and just lately I have had some big pallets with 6" thin nail gun nails and the shock method has worked. I use blocks of wood also under the hammer or crowbar old school learnt from my Dad. I shall be trying your method. Thank you from across the Pond for taking the time to share.
Thanks for watching. No problem you could definitely make one to suit the 6" nails, sometimes I cut the long nails shorter as they are easier to drive out, and yes we have the glued nails too. Check out the link in the description for my pallet dismantling tool, "pallet puller" that may help you too. Kind regards Arthur.
