The reason why McDonalds tastes so different in italy is because of the high food standards there. Italians have extremely strict food laws and a lot of stuff that goes into food in the US is mostly illegal in Europe anyway.
McDonald's in Rome was terrible. What great tasting beef patties. New Zealand and Australia. If you think the Maccas is good there, I wonder how bad it is in the States
The “syrup” in the tiramisù you took at the mc cafe was actually coffe. So when you drank the macchiato after you tasted it you literally used coffe to get rid of coffee flavour lol.
I disagree a little bit, cos he's biased when it comes to asian foods, New York style thin crust pizza, and spicy food. But he is honest, though, although biased towards certain foods, I'll give you that. So, to be clear, I never questioned his honesty, just his judgement, a little bit. Cos he's partial to those things I mentioned. 👍😉
I felt the same way about McDonald's that you felt in Paris, when I was Italy! I had been eating amazing Italian food, night and day for about 5 days and just wanted something different. I took a high-speed train to Venice and in the beautiful station there were shops and a McDonald's. It looked like I was walking up to the pearly gates of heaven. LOL And I swear, it was the best McDonald's I have had in my entire life!

And most importantly, do some research because many restaurants make overpriced terrible food just for the tourists!

I lived in Italy for a bit about 3 years ago and am so excited to see you went to Gelateria del Teatro! I had the red wine and chocolate gelato there as well as pumpkin and a few other flavors (it was on my walk home)! Best gelato in Rome is La Romana for when you go back!
La Romana is good but it is definitely not the best, I used to go to school in the Prati district (where La Romana is) and I still to this day hang out in the city center and Trastevere, and these three combined probably are the best concerning what Rome has to offer as far as gelato and after having tried multiple times all the worthy gelato places in this zones I can tell you that La Gelateria dei Gracchi makes the best gelato in Rome
I have a friend from Paris. He misses the McDonald's there. He hates the McDonald's here in Canada. He told that the McDonald's in France work together with local farmers. Everything is fresh everyday
Tiramisu is my absolute favorite Italian dessert. My mom served her mission in Rome Italy, so we love to make it every Christmas. Of course without the rum or coffee since we're LDS, but it's still absolutely delicious. Its just a shame I can't have a lot of Italian food since I'm gluten intolerant, but I'm willing to get sick after a few peices of tiramisu because of how good it is lol.
The pastry in the mc cafè come in frozen uncooked and then they cook them on the moment. They are of the low quality kind, they are very sad croissants but what is sadder is that some of the local bar have that kind too porcoddio
Yeah, exactly. They're sweeter and with a more dense dough. And cornetto as been invented before the croissant, was made by bakeries in the Veneto region. The french baker whom pulled out a croissant in Paris for the first time had been right in that Italian area couple years before the croissant showed up, and copied that recipe from Italians. Btw, the first version of this cornetto- croissant kind of pastry is Austrian. So if there is an originary place , that's neither France nor Italy, but Austria.

Love the flow of this video. I've watched it twice already, and it really helps me relax. From the pizza, to the fountain, to the sexy gelato, to the surprising upscale McDonald's AM menu. And a must have on those wings, surprisingly good, aren't they?
Watching all the Mcdonald's videos that you post. Amazing content I worked at Mcdonald's in Canada and it's interesting to see what they serve in other countries.
In Italy (as in most of Europe) we have laws preventing the use of harmful artificial ingredients in fast food restaurants from overseas. That's why our McDonald's/Burger King restaurants taste so good, because the burgers are made with local meat and everything is produced with healthy ingredients.
I remember when I went to McDonalds in Rome back in 1984. It was in the fashion district. They were forced to put exhaust hoods way above to vent the obnoxious fumes away as per the designers. They were nauseous from the "cooking smells". It was a nice Mickey D's, you could get a nice salad and wine and beer.
I was in Italy a couple of years ago and the tour guide said Italy has a large system of free public toilets and pointed to the McDonalds. Needless to say Italians don't really eat there!
Guess to them McDonald’s is just food chain I wouldn’t mind trying it tried Burger King at Vietnam I prefer American the breakfast I think they put barbecue sauce it threw me off I think in my mind never again
In Italy many young guys go to McDonalds, it's a fashion and a question of prices. The raw material is of quality. In Italian homes you eat something else and for the kids go to McDonald's has become a status quo ...
I had the mushroom fried onion burger in the US. The beef was unrecognizable as McDonald's. It tasted more like what you would make at your house. The only difference between it, and their other hamburgers, they cooked it upon order.
I've had MacDonald's in several European countries Italy, France, Spain, Portugal, Majorca, turkey, greece and Tenerife and all were ok. I live in UK and would love to try MacDonald's in USA! Burger King is different as It varies a lot more due to being a franchise.
Love your stuff Mikey.. always entertaining, informative, and mostly fun. Keep up the great work. As always it amazes me how McDonald’s all over the world has much higher standards for food than in the U.S. Perhaps consumers worldwide are more discerning than Americans and McDonald’s simply needs to compete at a higher level. I would guess food culture, including higher quality food is more of a birthright in places like Rome, Paris, etc....thoughts? Thanks again for the time and effort you put into all your work.. I understand the work, time, and dedication you give...
I can confirm that the beef in the burgers over there is really really really gooood. Italy and France and for some reason czech mcdonald's burgers are a bit on the pricey side but so worth it.

Mikey, one of these days you need to come to Australia and try the burgers at Maccas, especially the Angus beef burgers or (during summer here) the McOz!

The chicken nuggets in Rome are sooo good....chicken that they used inside had some sort of a seasoning/grill-esk taste to it. Definitely recommend it ! My favorite one was the airport one 😁
So...what you are saying is that American McD is essentially the stuff they shovel off the floor of other countries McAnimal pens? Thanks for spreading the word! RE McNugget: "I can actually taste some chicken in this." Can something be sad and funny at the same time?
that is the way they park in Italy and Spain. you can simply 'move' the car that blocked you. there is not a single car without damage in these countries
When I was younger, cough cough 20 cough cough ago, we used to make grilled cheese sandwiches like that for kids meals when requested. I always made mine with tomato cheese n dehydrated onions. 7:30
McToast at McDonald’s is a breakfast time must have (or a must have side order if you’re fortunate enough to have breakfast items available all day) McToast is just so amazing in all its simplicity! One of my favorite side orders when going to McDonald’s here in Sweden is their Chili cheese tops, and I don’t even like chili but those are really just very mild jalapeño poppers and the spice level is like green paprika basically. If you visit Sweden, going to a MAX burger restaurant is a must try! It’s a burger chain like McDonald’s and Burger King only with higher quality of everything and different flavors than the American origin restaurant chains. MAX has really nice fries too, including their fries with cheese, bacon and jalapeño on
I went to Rome around the same time as you and I tried the fried chicken as we don’t have that in the UK, I honestly hated it I’m so surprised you liked it! I noticed there was a good amount of seasoning but it just did not taste good in my opinion!!
Beef quality and flavour is a lot to do with the higher food production and animal welfare standards in the Eu most of the meat in the USA would not be allowed in the Eu
Pretty sure he eats all the other food at disposal. I love how people act like he seriously just travels to another country and eats ONLY fast food, or seem to think that he only records the times he eats and doesn't eat offscreen.
In Toronto they don't even clean the soft drink machine, and one time I ordered a quarter pounder and they forgot the patty, love Canadian rotten Ronnie's.
I rarely go to McDonalds but if I do, I only have a coffee there. Here in Vienna, McCafés have very good coffee, made with professional Italian espresso machines (Cimbali).
I'm pretty sure he travels with his fiancée. He just carefully edits her out. A while back he was a bit more careless and you would get a glimpse of her in some wide shots or see her hands moving a plate or something. Still, you can see little clues that he is not alone at the various hotels, restaurants, etc. even if he pretends he is. I think he is very determined to keep his life private, and no wonder with all the drama and weirdos that roam around RUclips. Can't blame him for that.
Lol I was so intimidated by the early morning cafes and my inability to communicate that I went to McD’s every morning at 7am. Surprisingly delicious and WAY better than American

this guy paid 10$ for a McDonald's burger
The chicken nuggets in Rome are sooo good....chicken that they used inside had some sort of a seasoning/grill-esk taste to it. Definitely recommend it ! My favorite one was the airport one 😁
So...what you are saying is that American McD is essentially the stuff they shovel off the floor of other countries McAnimal pens? Thanks for spreading the word! RE McNugget: "I can actually taste some chicken in this." Can something be sad and funny at the same time?
You should've gone to the McDonald's near the Spanish Steps. It was the first one they built in Italy and they really pulled out all the stops.
Did I hear that correctly :O the McCafe bake their own pastries and other baked goods freshly made! :O that is crazy!
LightningGmr i know!
only in big city like rome or milan, not in every city, but still pretty good in general.
Usually every decent sized city in EU and McDonald's restaurants holds a McCafe, both as a stand alone building and shopping malls!
That is amazing!! :O thank you for letting me know!
LightningGmr it's the same way in my hometown too, not in Italy, but 5km from the border. And it's not a big town (25k people).
Soon as I come to your channel and videos my problems go away....thank u so much for these vids
3:25 lol Nice parking. Middle guy ain't going anywhere lol
Teena 😂
And you actually noticed that 😂😂😂
its a flying car
lmao
that is the way they park in Italy and Spain. you can simply 'move' the car that blocked you. there is not a single car without damage in these countries
Those patties are big, looks really good. I have not seen the patties on double an that big anywhere in America.
Have y'all noticed that this dude looks like the guy from Strictly Dumpling?
Might be because he IS the guy from Strictly Dumpling 😄

Woosh
Purplecell 😂😂
Purplecell No he doesn't.
had a good laugh while watching the Chen Dynasty videos..Dan and Mikey share such good chemistry. they should get back again!
Even Mc Donald’s looks tasty when Mikey eats it 🤤🤤🤤
When I was younger, cough cough 20 cough cough ago, we used to make grilled cheese sandwiches like that for kids meals when requested. I always made mine with tomato cheese n dehydrated onions. 7:30
McCafe don't bake from scratch mike, they just reheat from factory
MAX has really nice fries too, including their fries with cheese, bacon and jalapeño on
you did not try the spinach parmesan croquettes???
I went to Rome around the same time as you and I tried the fried chicken as we don’t have that in the UK, I honestly hated it I’m so surprised you liked it! I noticed there was a good amount of seasoning but it just did not taste good in my opinion!!
although I do agree the pastries were good and a good price!!
Beef quality and flavour is a lot to do with the higher food production and animal welfare standards in the Eu most of the meat in the USA would not be allowed in the Eu
Totally agree the US can keep their chlorinated chicken.
You needed the mike today, especially in a noisy McDonald’s full of Italians!!!
the 11th sin is travelling all the way to Rome and end up eating at mcdonald's
I SWEAR TO GOD 😂😂😂😂
Btw what’s would be the 3 other sins lmao 😂
Palate cleanser.
Pretty sure he eats all the other food at disposal.
I love how people act like he seriously just travels to another country and eats ONLY fast food, or seem to think that he only records the times he eats and doesn't eat offscreen.
@@DeepEye1994
Chill. I was joking
I just cant get enough of this channel.
You have the best videos Mikey ..loved the review on all the burgers etc..Your amazing 😘
In Toronto they don't even clean the soft drink machine, and one time I ordered a quarter pounder and they forgot the patty, love Canadian rotten Ronnie's.
You went all the way to Italy and you didn't drink real coffee there, you should've replaced that mcdonalds coffee with a real one.
McCafè actually has real italian coffee ..they use the normal coffee machines u find in normal bars same for the coffee.
I rarely go to McDonalds but if I do, I only have a coffee there. Here in Vienna, McCafés have very good coffee, made with professional Italian espresso machines (Cimbali).
@@parpar3 lol maybe they do coffee with a good machine but the coffee grinder is what counts
Nice vid. Tiramisu translated from Italian to English means 'pick-me-up'. Ideal for breakfast after a heavy night
The EU standards, force better, healthier ingredients to be used, which make the food, much better than we get in the USA!
George B 🤔
No us is just lame af
Anders Holmvik lmfao
You couldn't have chosen a better flavor of gelato than the lavender peach. I can imagine it was amazing.
i thought mike was travelling alone but it seems like he always has a camera man
I think it's his other hand
if u look at 12:00 his not holding the camera
He always travel with one or two people part of team, he's never alone when he's abroad
RICH PAINO it's only for a couple secs, he could easily have asked a kind stranger to hold his cam
I’ve had Roman style pizza may times and it sucks! I’m truly amazed that you like it.
Italy ... the best country in the world!!!
C'hai ragiò
E poi va al mc donalds
Beautiful video. So many memories. Ty
In Italy we don't consider Mc Donald a place where a person could eat good! Go to an Italian restaurant!
Edoardo di looks a hell of a lot better than the crap we get in the US version!
I don't think McDonalds is considered to a place where you can eat good anywhere in the world.
It actually cost a lot for what you eat, i can eat 2 pizza instead of going to McDonalds, or just eat a burger, but a good one
parla per te! avete sempre questa spocchia tipica da italiani medi del cazzo, di sapere cosa c'è nella testa di tutti! Ripeto PARLA PER TE!
if the US MCD's food looked half this good, I'd actually not avoid their food like the plague!
Lol I love your videos. You always know me laugh
Yay! Italy 💝
Lol I was so intimidated by the early morning cafes and my inability to communicate that I went to McD’s every morning at 7am. Surprisingly delicious and WAY better than American
UK McDonald's get ya act together do this stuff LMAO
@Lady Trek2space I really doubt that.
@Lady Trek2space I mean, the UK is known for shitty interpretations of many restaurants, as they have nothing special.
You are making me very hungry with that croissant. lol. Plus that ham n cheese! I really want to visit there now, hahaha!
McDonalds part starts at 3:06
You're welcome!
I agree! I still miss McDonald’s food from Paris up to this day.
Eating McDonald’s while watching this...
love ur videos ur wat the world needs everyday people can be so mean i wish there was more love in this world. thank you for ur smile and happiness makes my day :)
My mother was the creator of McToast!!
Really??!!
Liar 🤥
“You know they don’t give you dipping sauce unless you get the chicken strips” -Drake and Josh- only thing I thought of when you dipped the wing in the sauce 😂😂
