The reason why you sometimes have vision issues is because your eyes oxygenate off of the surface of the white parts - there’s no actually full formed veins it just a gooey ball that oxygenates without structure like a typical organ with typical muscle/specific cells. With hypoxia you feel like you’re suffocating, if you have a mask or anything near your face while hypoxia it’s instinct to break free

Boeing tried to cover it up and hide the jets' failures, but journalists quickly found communications between Boeing engineers saying how dangerous the MCAS system was.
I doubt he would speak publicly about that, as it's fully possible he has information from behind the scenes that we don't know, and which could cost him his job. He would literally have nothing to gain, only losing from talking about it.
Had I watched this livestream I know I would have just switched over to the actual video because there's no way I'm sitting and watching them pause and unpause for an hour straight for a 20 minute video.
Dude, I’m tearing up; the f16 pilot’s voice cracking isn’t helping, pushing me to straight up cry 😢 also, agreed, there should be some kind of automatic thing that kicks in if altitude continues rising while cabin pressure continues dropping, with a time limit of maybe 10 minutes (which is PLENTY of time) for the pilot to respond to the warning and if he/she fails to do so then the system should kick in to automatically descend the plane to a safe cruising altitude that o2 would be enough at (to hopefully revive/reorient the crew on board), some kind of lesson should have (hopefully) been learned after that kind of disaster occurring….also maybe have a member of the crew who has some kind of flying knowledge who could help in case of emergency (obviously would get paid more given more responsibility; between flight attendant pay and pilot pay) and/or there should at LEAST be training (more vigorous training?) on what to do if the pilots aren’t responding or something and also on how to NOT waste oxygen like that; like I get you want to help others, but a knowledgeable person hogging the o2 and dealing with the situation is MUCH more helpful than people wasting o2 like that on random people (sure maybe the others will pass out and/or need resuscitation, but depending on the knowledgeable person’s actions, EVERYONE could’ve been saved rather than extending a handful of people’s consciousness for a few more painful and scary minutes; pretty sure everyone would prefer hypoxia/passing out at that point to remaining alert to such a dire situation smh); also, SO LUCKY the plane crashed in the middle of a field/hills as opposed to a [heavily] populated area 💀
the capitalization of Switch had me thinking some poor kid's animal crossing island signal jammed the navigation, this was clickbait and you should be jailed
They should replace the audio feedback of the auto-pilot disconnecting with a slide whistle. In both Airbus and Boeing. Ascending slide whistle for autopilot engaging and descending slide whistle for disengaging. And also when activating the escape slides or rafts they should pop out of place with confetti and an audio line should play of people going "hurray!" like the Grunt Birthday Party skull in Halo 3.
Pilots too confident and comfortable. Experiemce can have a negative effect. Like if you've done something long and successfully enough why would you take things seriously and assume the worst instead of brushing it off because "I've made it this far" right? One should never be completely comfortable in what they do. Granted one pilot was a walking accident to happen and that was on Helios for hiring him in the first place. But still. High enough comfortability is problematic. Same logic to why nervousness is a good thing but also not too much of it. Comfortable enough to handle the responsibility but uncomfortable enough to always wanna make sure you did/do everything right for the better.
Which is the pilot you're referring to? I can't distinguish one as more negligent than the other, since they both ignored the cabin altitude alarm. By the time they were asked about the automatic configuration, they were both suffering from lack of oxygen. I think the engineer is far more responsible, because despite being massively confused by the call to the aircraft, hypoxia didn't cross his mind, didn't report it and just went home.
42:41 For me it’s the opposite: I prefer AirBus. At least when it comes to American Airlines, it seems like the AirBuses are more modern and more comfortable than the Boeings. After watching this video, I feel like Boeings can only be argued to be better (in terms of safety) if they’re being flown by an experienced pilot.
They really got lost in the sauce with the drone and then oxygen mask convo while Murat and Austin were trying to steer Hasan and chat back lol. Chat was dumb as hell with the “wear the mask all the time.” Or just do your job and listen to the instruments you have? That’s like someone sabotaging a sprinkler system and shutting off a fire alarm and people die so the solution is to constantly douse interiors with water.
you only hear about flights that go wrong, there are thousands of flights everyday that have no issues at all and it's far more than likely that your trip will be entirely unremarkable
I feel theres two options. 1: If the plane has an alarm or a light indicating it is set to manual when the aircraft is moving/taking off, or.. 2: The pilot must hit a button to indicate there is someone present flying the plane every 10 minutes - if this is not pressed, automatically descend to a level that is compatible with life.
Hasan should watch a vid about American Airlines flight 96 and Turkish Airlines flight 981. Very interesting and a good example of one of the many failures of capitalism.
I’m sure they will say this, but this isn’t just a failure on the pilots part. I believe that this instance forced significant changes in record ability for airlines on pilots.
20:10 Austin is being also negligent in this situation, this shows you the attitude towards the situation is important. Helios was 737- 500 of which is older 737. They never have screen display with ECAM back in day, they also the fact none planes in modern age are prestige new their were always going to be problems that why theirs notes now days for pilot to know any maintenance happened. Their was also major Boeing design failure with with back up system was linked to depressurization of the cabin, this why with dumb a single design flaw can cost lives.
Wait, I thought it was the assumed conclusion that Andreas couldn't get in the cockpit because of the locked door. The documentary makes it seem like he knew the code to get in.
Wdym, this is pretty usual. Pausing all the time to talk absolute nonsense for 30 mins. And when the video continues, everyone either goes back to eating or looking at their phones, so they maybe pay attention to 10% of the video, then pause again to debate things that were already clearly explained in the video.
I mean, it's 3 people with all strong opinions. That's how I (and them) act with friends too when watching a youtube video. I don't think Hasan is extra trying to make it "transformative" despite his jokey comment

Channel "Mayday: Air Disaster" named after the series and channel "Wonder" Have good thorough made for TV reenactments with real interviews. They covered this. (both channels posts the same videos from the show "Mayda)
I've never binge watched a series on RUclips until Mayday. They even officially post several hour "mega marathons" as a single video! :o
I'd like to hear murat talk about his thoughts on the Boeing scandal that happened a few years back when the MCAS system caused 2 737s to crash bc the MCAS was automatically pitching the nose down shortly after takeoff bc it thought the plane was stalling.
Did anyone else think the title meant Nintendo Switch
When you forget to put it in airplane mode lol
Oh I most definitely did lol
That's why I clicked wtf
How tf would a Nintendo switch cause a plane crash or even be related to any plane incident? 😭
Had I watched this livestream I know I would have just switched over to the actual video because there's no way I'm sitting and watching them pause and unpause for an hour straight for a 20 minute video.
this is the only video that’s loading while i’m in galapagos
thanks for the entertainment!!
mark wahlberg 🤝Austin Show
Things would've gone different if I was there
(referring to a plane related tragedy)
Im with Austin. It sounds like he's saying RUclips pilot lol
Damn me thinking this was somehow about a nintendo Switch
Has and Austin growing old together 😍
The automated warning sounds at 59:11 are absolute nightmare fuel
42:41 For me it’s the opposite: I prefer AirBus. At least when it comes to American Airlines, it seems like the AirBuses are more modern and more comfortable than the Boeings.
After watching this video, I feel like Boeings can only be argued to be better (in terms of safety) if they’re being flown by an experienced pilot.
0:06 Wait so Austin had a rookie pilot inside of him and apparently learned about piloting?
They really got lost in the sauce with the drone and then oxygen mask convo while Murat and Austin were trying to steer Hasan and chat back lol. Chat was dumb as hell with the “wear the mask all the time.” Or just do your job and listen to the instruments you have? That’s like someone sabotaging a sprinkler system and shutting off a fire alarm and people die so the solution is to constantly douse interiors with water.
Finding out they are all avgeeks makes them so much better
So glad I watched this before my flight next week 😃😃😃
Jokes aside, planes are statistically safer than cars, so you're more likely to crash on the way to the airport than on the actual flight :)
you only hear about flights that go wrong, there are thousands of flights everyday that have no issues at all and it's far more than likely that your trip will be entirely unremarkable
Big loss for the switch community 😔
Awesome editing as always! ❤
Murat seemed a little grumpy
I feel like I could’ve recognized that alarm just from all the movies that have it before the planes loses altitude lmao
21:00 Murat being offended that he doesn’t have the most autism haha 😂 also Murat looks like Chumlee from Pawn Stars a decade ago
I think if it's on Autopilot and the cabin depressurized then after x minutes of no input it'll force the plane to a lower automatically.
The cabin didnt depressurize, so that wouldnt help much..
Of course the oxygen is limited, did that chatter think they have some sort of machine to isolate oxygen onboard the plane to constantly distribute?
I feel theres two options.
1: If the plane has an alarm or a light indicating it is set to manual when the aircraft is moving/taking off, or..
2: The pilot must hit a button to indicate there is someone present flying the plane every 10 minutes - if this is not pressed, automatically descend to a level that is compatible with life.
1. There is a light indicating that the pressurization mode selector is set to manual.
2. Dude..🤦🏻♂️
me checking austin’s insta to see y he was so nervous then seeing he hasn’t posted since HALLOWEEN no wonder he was scared lmao
Austin fucking cracks me up
they talk about planes in autopilot like fucking EVAs lol
Rich executives paid their way out of prison and got off scott free. What a shocker...
Hasan should watch a vid about American Airlines flight 96 and Turkish Airlines flight 981. Very interesting and a good example of one of the many failures of capitalism.
16:34 Paustin Show 😂
Should have flipped the pittit switch. If you get that reference, legend.
I’m sure they will say this, but this isn’t just a failure on the pilots part. I believe that this instance forced significant changes in record ability for airlines on pilots.
Record ability??🤔🤷🏻♂️
15:46 the "I'm impressed" look of Hasan is gold
I’m so glad Austin was here. His knowledge on planes is so cool
17:12 in to the video and I just realize they don’t mean Nintendo Switch.
I am too high.
undersold the video, murat ❤❤
I was at the character limit with the current title. I actually had to drop the period on "ft." just to fit Austin in. Much love for Murat
@@HasanReactionsfanTwo i appreciate the explanation. thanks for the work you do for us youtube lurkers! Much love to you HasanReactionsTwo :)
I thought they meant a Nintendo switch
This plane was brought down due to pilot complacency. Theres a checklist for a reason and they failed to complete it properly.
Wasn't Alan Irwin an engineer, not a boss? Or am I just stupid lol
Aircraft Maintenance Engineer👍🏻
Did Austin work as a Flight Attendant?? How does he know so much?
Lots of flight simulator and a love for planes (although I don't think he's ever worked on a real plane before)
I think he does like training flights simulations
Wait, I thought it was the assumed conclusion that Andreas couldn't get in the cockpit because of the locked door. The documentary makes it seem like he knew the code to get in.
I truly hate the reactgate drama cause they're pausing too damn much now
OMG YES. Jesus Christ it’s so infuriating!
Austin is hilarious in this
Alright yall how long til he starts watching Mayday marathons [please]
I demand more plane content
Murat a fellow Hidden enjoyer
