Another video from the Texas Off-Road Invitational and here we’re looking at one of the most surprising vehicles I drove, the Honda Passport! What a great mid-size SUV! What do you guys think?
I have a 17 Honda Ridgeline awd and I put a 2 inch lift and falcon wildpeak at3w tires on and it does a lot better now I can get traction.great awd system.
I hope Honda gets you a Passport for a full week. I also hope they provide another set of tires\wheels that are all-terrain. The standard tires are for pavement.
Go find JonDZ channel. He got an amazing setup on his Passport, and takes that thing everywhere. It's super cool to travel with JonDZ and his outdoor adventures.
Good stuff! I like your review and the footage of the Passport taking on some decent terrain. I thoroughly enjoying my 2019 Honda Passport EX-L AWD. I mounted 265/65R18 All-terrain tires and have a 2 inch lift. Come down to Southern California and I'll let you review mine, haha! I also have lots of video's of this thing offroading.
Please do an extended review to include off-roading. I am thinking of buying an SUV for my travels which will include off-road touring/camping. This could be very high on my list.
Jimmy Jones I don't review cars but I currently have 8 video's of my 2019 Honda Passport going offroad. Mines a little bit modified (2 inch lift and 2 inch taller tires), but I love to go overlanding, vehicle based camping and exploring in the Honda. I use to drive a 2015 Subaru Forester XT, this Passport is like a "Roided Forester".
Yes, it’s difficult in these types of events to be the one driving and filming but I have though of strategies for this year’s event to get more footage. 👍 thanks
I am interested in a 2021 Passport, but am concerned about road clearance. I have property in W. Tx with all rocks on the road and am worried that I will snag on a rock that damages the undercarriage. Did you have any issues with that on your trip?
Sorry, yeah more details could have helped. The very rocky section that we were on that had some tough and slippery inclines was an area that most of the vehicles, sans the Jeeps and trucks, wouldn't go. This Pilot though did go and made it.
I’m not saying this can go anywhere those can go. I’m saying on the course we had, at the event we were at, this was able to go places made for these trucks and Jeeps that other, similar SUVs, couldn’t go.
Love my passport, but despise with passion ALL the dumb unsafe “safety” technologies. Madness. Thankfully you can turn them off, but it leaves such a bad taste it may cause me to never buy a Honda again. But I love my passport, I do.
I can’t wait to drive the new RAV4 TRD. They might have one at this year’s event! As for the Adventure, I really liked it as well and have a video of it from this event too but the Toyota reps that brought it wouldn’t let it be taken to the hardest sections of the course where this Passport was able to go.
Really? I would think Toyota would stand behind their product! I'm a die hard Honda person trust me. Had 3 Acura integra's and a s2000 new. I just got out of racing few years ago and before I had my s2000 I had 1996 and a 1998 Tacoma 4x4 pick up. Came lifted open differentials and would climb anything I tried. So got a new Toyota 4runner and if it wasn't for wife wanting PREMIUM I would of got TRD off road. For 2k$ less. But the SR5 PREMIUM 4x4 goes every where my buddies TRD aka trails 4runners go. A-TRAC!
@@LarryRichelli if its anything like my 4runner's A-TRAC then it's no joke...! A-TRAC DOES JUST AS GOOD AS REAR LOCKER! WATCH VIDEOS ON A-TRAC vs locker same 4runner climbing same hill A-TRAC does it when locker wouldnt.
I just got a 2021 Passport Elite and I have been amazed by how many videos I have seen of it being better than most may expect off pavement.
Just purchased two 2021 passports, one for me and one for the wife. Love them!

I've owned 2 Pilots and it's almost time to trade it in for a new Passport. I don't need the 8 passenger SUV anymore, wanting to downsize.
I really like Honda’s Passport and AWD technology. Thanks for this awesome video!
Traded my Pilot for a 2021 Passport in Elite trim a month ago. Took it out to the Big Bend area the first week. Really like this vehicle!
Nice! 🔥🔥🔥
I've been wanting to get a Passport for this exact reason. Did it handle the unpaved roads at Big Bend? Was the ground clearance good?
I have a 17 Honda Ridgeline awd and I put a 2 inch lift and falcon wildpeak at3w tires on and it does a lot better now I can get traction.great awd system.
SHAWD and Honda new torque-vectoring AWD are very capable. Just put on some aggressive tires and you should have no issue with off roading.
I like this video because it shows what the Passport can actually do. Lots of reviewers don't know crap about the mechanics of this vehicle.
Thanks 👍
I hope Honda gets you a Passport for a full week. I also hope they provide another set of tires\wheels that are all-terrain. The standard tires are for pavement.
They did get me one! I’ll have the review posted in the next few weeks! Thanks. (Hope you sub)

I had a lot of fun in this one! Hope you guys enjoy the video!
Thoroughly enjoyed your review. Thank you.
Great to hear, thanks!
Bought a trailsport a month ago, it has been great the 2 times we had to park in some steep slopes of grass

First, thanks. Secondly, that sounds awesome! Definitely checking out some of those videos. Thanks!
JonDZ Adventuring i watch all your videos my goal is this SUV rn haha
With that type of tire, what's the road noise like compared to the stock tires??
I'm trying to figure out what new wheels to stick on mine! Any advice?

Very cool 👍 will definitely work on it.

Great question. During our event, no I didn’t have that issue at all. The Passport really surprised me 👍
Love my 2016 crv but it would be nice to have space when I am the passenger sometimes. #talldriverproblems
Love the Passport! Sexy vehicle!!
HELLO RAM14250 !!!!! I like watching other peoples youtube video's too! This is a good video!
You mentioned that it completed some areas that other vehicles didn't. Details?

@@txGarage why was the Pilot able to make it?
@Mario super Pilot and Passport share the same AWD system, which is basically SHAWD.
Same price as a 3 row pilot......
How does it stack up to the Subaru Outback?
I would say as a day-to-day driver, I’d probably choose the Honda but for utility I might stick to the Subaru.
