- Hello everyone! Hope everyone is doing well. Just thought I'd update everyone on the 6 speed swap on the E55, any pending things that needed to be addresses and any future updates. Stay safe everyone!
PARTS LIST BELOW:
Transmission (I provided multiple links, personally I would try and get one that has the shifter combo already, make sure it has ALL the linkages already on it to make it easier on you, please refer to my video series on more detail):
(94k Miles!!)
rover.ebay.com/...
rover.ebay.com/...
rover.ebay.com/...
Transmission Crossmember (C230K)
rover.ebay.com/...
8 Hole Flywheel (Bolt Holes must be equally spaced to each other, if they're not then it will not work. Please check Part 3 of my Manual Swap series for more info on this):
rover.ebay.com/...
Clutch:
C240 Clutch:
rover.ebay.com/...
3.2L Clutch (same one I used for my E55):
rover.ebay.com/...
Pedal Assembly:
Couldn't find any new ones on Ebay. I would suggest keep an eye out for Manual Crossfires/SLKs being parted out. Like below
rover.ebay.com/...
Clutch Reservoir: (similar to the one I used, but realistically you can use whichever reservoir you choose, the choice is yours!):
rover.ebay.com/...
Clutch Master Cylinder w/ Clutch line:
rover.ebay.com/...
Shift Knob w/ Boot (assuming yours is missing)
rover.ebay.com/...
Everything (well almost):
rover.ebay.com/...
Looking at this above link, you would still need flywheel, C230K transmission Crossmember, and the clutch line as well as the reservoir for the clutch.

SOMEONE PLEASE GIVE THIS MAN A MEDAL
🥇
You should put a kit together and start selling them for this type of swap
Thank you for this video. I am your new subscriber from Los Angeles and I am still looking at your videos right now thank you. Last week at least I always call car guys like yourself engineers or scientists because you guys make it happen. Thank you
excellent build, channel and innovation !!! all power to ya !!!!!
Great work man! Amazing what you did! Makes me want to do it to my e55! It’s a 2000. 100k miles! Please give a detailed parts list of what you used! Thanks and keep up the the updates of your project!
That's fucking crazy!!! Your doing GOD's work. If all this goes well. Please release a complete guide for the W210 E55 Amg community.
Hi mate
Great content Thankyou !
I doing the same swap to a Mercedes w111
2 door coupe
Ready to begin soon
Keep up the brilliant work
Thank you man. Im keeping my cls500 now. You have motivated me. I was about to go for a hemi
Thank you for this video I know this video is kind of old but I just found you and I am your new subscriber thank you sir for your videos and I’m still looking at the rest of them!! I called guys like yourself scientist or engineers because you guys make it happen thank you and last release your car sounds nice
Excellent content, I better start looking for a crossfire soon
Wish you were in San Antonio so you can race mine and I can see how much faster yours is now. It would really motivate more me to do this
Doing this to my e55 looking forward to the next video 👍
With the fuel gauge light on doing those accelerations, very brave :P
Amazing builds, keep up the awesome stuff!
One more thing your car really sounds nice
WANT TO DO THIS IN MY C55 SO BAD!!! ALL CAPS SQUAD
Really big job!! Congrats and your 210 v8!!
One thing I just simply wanna know how to put into the motor?
Entirely bell housing didn’t fit to V8 as far as I know. Did you make own housing?
Wow great job!
Thank you! I appreciate it
Just found your channel and i love it, subscribed! Great work so far both on the cars and the videos and I really appreciate what you give to the community!
Will you keep us updated with the electronic stuff and what Dzmitry Ulasau (w209 clk 320 manual swap) is willing to help? Are you planning on remapping the ecu as well? Any xdf files available or would this be a hex dump manual search and identify maps? Also, I can't wait for the episode where you time 0-60 and other highway pulls (in mexico).
There's a ML55 amg for sale with the gearbox stuck in gear for 2000 obo. You're really pushing me to to buy the car for a future project :)
As for the e36, how well is the ecu handling boost spikes? I only have some experience with ms41 on my N/A m52 with some bolt-ons but i was reading that in order to prevent lean boost spikes and possibly detonation/ping, very rich tunes are necessary when running turbo, but not for supercharger, as the ecu could be too slow for turbo spool.
Anyway, I really enjoy watching your videos and they give me much needed food for thought in this lockdown. Cheers! :)
Thank you, I appreciate it! I will definitely try. I have reached out to him but its a little tricky as he's never messed with the ecu I have before. ( Mines Bosch me2.0 and his is me2.8). I don't really have the knowledge either but maybe I will try and tackle it one day, I guess we will see as it's not super high in my priority list. An ML55 with a six speed would be very, very cool, and very unique! I've heard they're great vehicles.
As for the e36, nice! For me so far so good. I had to divide the maf scaling table and all the tables that use that same load measurement by 3, and it gets around it. Because if not and you hit the limit the ipw drops to 0 and yea really bad lean condition lol. Kind of a tedious ordeal to originally set up, and i'm still learning as i go. Supposedly they have a fix for it laid out in a future release so looking forward to that
Jikjakz custom coded ms41.3 will be available for open beta in a few months and might include the fix you're saying. Will also have a bunch of other cool features. Looking forward as well. Awesome work they're doing, helps a lot.
I changed all the bushings on my gear shifter to poly
Mercedes should've provided this in 6speed from factory!
I agree !!
Very inspiring, i would like to convert my W210 300td Automatic to 6 speed manual gearbox. Can i use the manual shifter from a w203 C180 kompresser? And the flywheel, need to make the E300td flex plate ring gear work with the manual flywheel
I got a M120 V12 looking for a manual swap but don’t know where to start
Really and really awesome job. You gave that car the strongest soul ever. Mate, listen, my deepest concern is the electronics. I have a c32 wagon, I have the chance to get a 320 or 240 manual for straight swap but... How did you managed to get the engine running with no issues? About the throttle, backup lamps, rev limiter...ect. could you help me a bit??
Id be interested in the stock transmission
Is there a certain video where you talk about any STAR programming required? That seems like one of the biggest things to me, to overcome since I have no knowledge of use and don't know anyone directly near me who does. From the thread on MBworld I think they coded it to think it is in park, is that what you did also? Thx!
Please somehow get this thing to Matt Farah
How much did this cost you in all to swap it ?
U did in a few weeks whats taking tavarish over 2 years
tavarish's SL55 will never move under its own power again
Real talk....he needs the same hardware and a beefy clutch and he’s done ....he’s milking it for sub par content ,
How u managed to rev it over 4.5k rpm? i was thinking abaut manual swap, but i still can't figure how to rev over 4.5k
How did you get rid of the rev limiter in park?
Never had an issue with it, revs to redline. I think thats the later models
As i about to do this same project,do you happen to have torque numbers for the flywheel, clutch and the bellhousing,Thanks in advance,Great videos Man.
flywheel bolts was 44 ft lbs! bellhousing and pressure plate I just did good and tight spec - haha. Make sure to use threadlocker on both the flywheel bolts - and the pressure plate bolts!
@@jikjakz9144 Thank you sir,much appreciated.
Do you think the manual trans so going to hold up to all the power for long??
do you have any idea about swapping M120 V12 into the w210 mercedes, thanks
Was there any check engine light when u turn on when you swap it
Amazing!!!! Oo=*=oO i. Need this on my e55... so stock will be enough to handle the v8??? How long have you had manual?
Hey there, I'm pretty sure! I have 6-7k miles now on the swap
Did you actually have any problem with the automatic ecu? Like rev limiter
Nope!
