Holy shit I've never even considered walking backwards when I have them wallbounce, I'm such a fucking scrub haha. This is a goldmine, so glad I found this channel and that site.
man 3:20 blew my mind ive watched a bunch of idom matches and ill see him use b.HP in neutral and wonder why he did that so many times since on paper it's not good button for this. i never realized he was going for something so specific! this series has been invaluable for a not-a-beginner like me. i know enough to follow along but nowhere near enough for any off this to be old news. thank you so much!
Haha yea, after playing him firsthand I realized how good it can be to bait someone into thinking they can whiff punish. I feel for it far too many times :(
I always felt like a lot of these concepts are helpful to know but if you play online or on a lower tier no one really plays “footsies.” Lots of these come into play when both players are playing neutral and trying to gain advantage. Most players online are just trying to land combos or setups they practiced in training mode, not really playing “footsies” I think the fundamental idea of “footsies” is analyzing what your opponent is trying to do and finding a counter to it. The game begins when each player is doing this to the other. I wouldn’t call whiffing punishing someone who doesn’t realize that you’re intentionally baiting their button and punishing “footsies.” Footsies is when two players are trying to do that to the other
Cool as always, I need to work on certain points as I'm currently stuck at Diamond 1. Would you happen to do replay analysis or coaching by any chance? Sorry for my bad English.
This bit at 9:13. This is what the people need to learn. How to build up a character. So learning how to recognise you counter hit. And a combo /block sting that comes from that button.
Yeah sf6 is my first fighting game that im taking seriously and once i focused on footsies and anti air, i went from silver to plat 4, getting +10 wins streaks. Sometimes i find players that absolutely destroy me, but for the most part im always on 3 or 4 WS. But honestly im afraid of reaching diamond, im prolly gonna get destroyed a lot before i get better.
I'm same level as you and find it is full of master level players on alt characters. You can tell because they have perfect drive impact reactions, play footsies, have full Drive rush cancel 60% combos, and most notably, still have the blue "Let's do this" banner and didn't bother customizing their costume because they don't care about their non main char as much. Meanwhile they don't have the best combos on the char but they do have perfect reactions to the basics. I'm the opposite. I have my combos mostly down. My basics are lacking. And I have full kudos with my yellow banner
What is the "rps" for escaping a spacing trap or getting spaced out in the corner? I'm having trouble understanding how to get back into position against characters with better pokes if im in the corner and they're standing just outside my range. Great vid btw
It's pretty hard to deal with tbh, especially if you are in the corner. The best option if you can hard read that they are going for a spacing trap, is to block the initial button, and then wait even longer for them to throw out their following normal that was meant to counterpoke you, and whiff punish that one instead. Easier said than done obviously haha, but it isn't an easy thing to "beat".
@@MikeyDLuffy yeah I figured there’s not a hard counter cause fighting games in general have many options you have to consider. But learning street fighter that seems like the 1 thing from the hand guide that’s very tough to deal with in 6 if your characters pokes aren’t as good as your opponent. I’ll have to just lab certain characters buttons/hurtboxes more thanks .
I have played against gimmicky people who really have jumping down and they know how to jump over anti airs or jump the drive rush or jump the drive impact or jump fire balls and it is torture. It's not as simple as "just do anti airs" I also play against weird people who just stay out of kikoken range and wait who aren't dhalsim.
I was reading the handbook last night and completely forgot you were doing a series about it until a couple of hours ago 🤣🤣 With that being said watching from the first video to this one i never knew footsies go this far in depth! Reading the handbook i was oh ok cool but with you going further into detail explaining is making the gears in my head turn. All seriousness for years ive been winging neutral wait for a confirm and go in. Yes look for patterns and people jumping in but like i said not like this! Thank you so much! This is going to help me level up quicker
Walking backwards when you have them in the corner is enough to beat 95% of sf6 players
😂😂
Can confirm, I get shimmied constantly in the corner.
@@TheLazyRegulator me too man
Oh so it was you then... i see you

4:40 Wow the throw range for sf2 is large
yea its crazy haha

@@MikeyDLuffy thank you for turning your suffering into a teachable moment
Kimberley players come to mind..thst walkback speed is nuts. Especially when she has the buff
yea she's so hard to pin down after she's buffed haha
I actually learned something from your content. It's hard to share these types of information in such clarity and efficiently. Thanks
Glad I could help out!
i love street fighter x tekken from 2012
can't agree more, absolutely loved playing Jin and Ken on the same team

I don't get a lot of time to play SF6 due to work but thanks to your vids my gameplay personally has improved a lot. Appreciated and thank you!

Great video and great series, keep it up!
Appreciate it!
Music is goated. Is that Xenoblade music?
It sounds like it is from XC1. Correct me if I'm wrong.

The game to practice neutral is Marvel. Any MvC game, really.
Clearly the hot thumbnail of Juri has aided this edition..... It's a good one tbf
Love to see Mai
is that chun costume a mod?
yup! It's a Mai Shiranui outfit mod

Yo if you mind could you tell me what the BGM is?
Forest of the Nopon from Xenoblade Chronicles 1 Definitive Edition!

chun li mods? subbed 🗿
This video is a prime example of why good players don't make good teachers lol
What in particular was hard to understand?

Parry the string and whiff punish the last button
I would delay tech just in case of throws and if they’re spacing try to hard read with a Neutral jumó or a dI
I'm stuck at silver 4. I don't see a lot of footsies. People just jump in on you.
Fry them with anti air
Crouch heavy punch is your friend then in many characters if you can’t react with a DP-type move
Don’t give up I went from bronze to gold 4 within a few matches. Punish punish punish… you got this. 💪🏾
I'm Plat. Anti air bro. Cut off the jump ins
