I know it sounds bad but I loved seeing you fall at the end. Don’t get me wrong I love your videos but that fall actually motivated me to go try transfers again. It shows that even pros that have done things million of times still fall sometimes and that’s just the way it is, especially with skateboarding. I’d love to see you make a video of all the falls from your tutorials while you were recording, just put them all in one video.
This is something I want to learn. 32 years old just getting back on the board after many years. I never attempted this even in my younger years. I hope to comment in the future about landing. Thanks for the videos!
Finally a decent instructional video about how to fly over a spine. You can probably find any trick in the book on the internet, but this one sort of stood out because it wasn't there... Thanks a lot Chad! I'm gonna work on this one :-)
Dude I can’t wait for your new videos. Your cross country trip was amazing so please rest, restore and then bring us some cool new stuff please!!!! I fallow many other transition skate channels but you always been my first choice and first on my list. Fist bump from Vancouver BC.
Thanks Chad. This one's been on my list for years, but I haven't gotten the courage to start attempting them yet. I've been hoping for an air-over-spine tutorial video for a while. I'll be studying this closely. That tip on imagining pumping over a ramp is gold!
Thanks man , I was waiting for a tutorial like this. We have a double pipe spine at my local and I am able to rock over it but trying to get my confidence up to pop over it or blunt stall. Not sure which one I want to try first. You would think the blunt stall would be easier but I’m scared that I won’t have the right speed to stall. I like the tip to pop on top of a quarter so I will try that next.
Airing out of a QP is great for getting used to rolling over/bonking the coping on the way up to the blunt transfer, I find those easier than rock transfers especially when I grab the nose of the board as I bonk into the blunt
I grew up in the Harbor on the other side of the canal and we had one of the first spine ramps on the Island 88’. Great to see The local park being used for good and sure wish we had that when we were growing up. Keep up the great work
It’s great to see you back on the Tanner mini ramp but I was getting so much enjoyment out of seeing you as a world traveler and a skate vlog/interview pioneer. It’s like if a friend you grew and played baseball with had a stint in the major leagues, but then came back and played local again, you’d be glad to have your friend back but certainly wish for the opportunities to get back in the big leagues to come around. In the words of Mr. Hartounian (Jackie Mason) in The Jerk, “See the world! Me, you’ve seen already.”
Yea man thats way kool.. I appreciate ur help i stay watching ur videos.. I'm 46 yrs young wat do u recommend for as far as getting comfortable to be able to ride? I used to ride in the 80s I had alot of fun. Now that I'm older it freaking hurts to fall i understand the commitment part . But our older bones are fragile.. and like I sed it freaking hurts .. haha 😄 help me out bro please!!!
Nice work some great tips , I like breaking a trick or new skill down into its components like this. That way when you come to committing to it you've done most of the work with all the little Nuance's, you've broke this Down very well. Cheers. :)'=]:
I was confused: "make sure you can do switch rock", and then i see you do a rock to fakie again. But then i realised your switch-rock is so perfect, it looks like a rock to fakie executed by a goofy skater.
Honestly, all the intermediate tricks like blunt over or rock and stuff are nice to know, but also doing a disfavour to learning this, because the weight distribution is all wrong on those compared to actually going over the spine. All you gotta do is: Bend your knees coming up, spot the landing and go there. Keeping a low center of gravity is the key to most things like this.
Nice Ramp to learn a lot of tricks btw! 👍🏼 The ultimate Version of this Trick is: A Handplant-Transfer in my opinion 🥶😉‼️ Great upload & greetings to all true & friendly 🛹'ers outta there‼️✌🏼

@Eliseo Lara 20 years
@@ChadCaruso I’ve only been skating for a year, but your videos help a lot👍
Talk to Toni at Stay Young Skate Board. He makes some quality T shirts.

I’m 33 and in the same situation!
Did you land it?

That tip with the shoulders was gold! Thanks man!
YES! Exactly what I’m looking for 🙏🏻
Chad how many likes for you to wear a different colour t-shirt?
😂😂😂
Thats his instructor outfit, like suits for lawyers or scrubs for doctors.
It's his uniform dude, wears it with pride. He's at work and he's got an ace job. But I did think this video could of been 3 years old.
.
😂when you havent unlocked any alternative character costumes 😂

would you do a video of a session on the spine with the single piece of coping?

I love the advice I had no 1 ever tell me these things 20 years ago
Thanks Chad. Years ago I could rock a transfer across the coping. I'm aiming to get it back. I'll keep the tips in mind.
I’m just trying to learn how to skate vert and this video is pure gold.
Great teacher, love the vids!

Awesome I will try this in my next video!

Commitment truly is key

Shoulder trick got me to do it first try
Brutal! I want more variations, traje care.
It's scary, this morning I was thinking about this one trick, focusing on all the angles, then This tutorial appear. Great minds think alike.
On the topic of spine tricks could you do a how to on how to do a spine transfer on a small coping? like going up then fakie rocking.
'Pad up' is the ultimate trick tip bit no one is gonna do that
That’s a great tip. Especially when you learn to bail onto the knees
I wear knee pads and wrist guards. It's awesome, still scared though
@@eyemastervideo ye i also wear knee pads and stuff but idk why im still scared :/
Pads are for kids and 12ft vert ramps
@@goatmansasquatch1485 well i am a kid ;/
Are you back in the states
Sick as always Chad 👍🔥🔥
Thanks Dag
You're back!
When is the trip to Sweden coming?

dope ending!!!
Why did you have to put me off trying it with the slam at the end🤣
Can you please shoot a separate video of nollie spine transfer?
Chad how are you? Did you trip by South America still going on?
love u chad 🤝
It’s the video I needed. I’m scared shitless of airing over the spine, but I guess I just gotta commit and eat it a few times :D
this really is a gateway trick... if you can spine transfer, you're much more likely to learn higher level air tricks
Didn't you come to scottsbluff NE a couple of years ago?
Question. What type of board concave do you prefer for transition, mellow or steep?
love u chad
yo wat brand is the board you and sal always have, with the fish bait thing
that helped
I was confused: "make sure you can do switch rock", and then i see you do a rock to fakie again. But then i realised your switch-rock is so perfect, it looks like a rock to fakie executed by a goofy skater.
When are u coming to Hampton Bays Skate park
I just learned wallies over short steep things if that makes sense. Think 2' diy spine. Doing this fkate helped leanr spine transfers.
at 1:35 is that a celtic bhoy walking in the background?? 🍀
I learnt these ages ago but took a bad slam doing them and completely stopped doing them I think I might have another go now

I learned from early grabbing if that helps anyone.
Chad, I awesome
I think my body would refuse to do that transfer 😂
You should take a trip to Cheyenne WY skate park some time
@TaketheK I N G D O M Well true because he went there on a windy day and the wind here fucking sucks
Hi Chad are you back home now or What's up next?👌😀
My name's Chad!
Yo!
chad to 50k
why you stopped making videos?
Wish i had a spine
just imagine rolling over the invisible hill beyond the coping
Hahaha when I tried this... all I transfered was my spine to the ground.
👊👊
Ok, what happened to the world traveling videos? And, is Chad ok?
As someone who only wears black and jeans at the skatePark, I approve
Imagine watching a tutorial on a ramp at your local park
Imagine watching it at the park😳
@@hardflip that’s awesome
@@TheLiveSquad no shot i can air this spine tho😭
5 rules of skate club , dodge, duck , dip, dive and ....dodge 👍🏽
The one at my park is double coped 🤕
I’m here cuz of thps.
!!
Wya chad
He messed up his neck and has been off the board. Still not 100%. That was as of July 5th.
2:21 my knees disagree
Audio turned out really bad on this. Can barely hear you.
Not a real spine transfer but cool
DAMN thats crazy i wanted to learn this yesterday but didnt do it and now this 😍thanks chad
That's an air not transfer
Nice Ramp to learn a lot of tricks btw! 👍🏼

Haha, That's the only way I can do them. I'm trying to figure out how to without.
My favorite part about this trick is not doing it.
