I remember going on this ship when I was a young lad. I believe I boarded at NYC and we went to Florida, the Caribbean islands and several other small islands. It was the best week of my life
You were 100% correct about The Great Outdoors (just cruised 7/22 - 7/29/17 to Alaska). We ate at the Garden Cafe buffet every morning, but walked on through to the Great Outdoors for seating. I don't believe our party of two was ever successful in finding a seat in the indoor buffet, but we always found a seat outside. I was worried that The Great Outdoors would be rained out or not open in Alaska, but we experienced dry, overcast days. It was perfect. Thanks for the hint!
We didn't try them, but they were well-used by others during the cruise (even on the overcast days in Alaska), so they must have been nice and warm. On the sunny departure/sea days, the tubs were nearly always occupied, and on the cooler days, it was too cold for me to want to brave walking from our room to the pool area, even though the tubs looked inviting. The pools and water slide were frequently in use by guests also, which was good. On my prior cruise to AK, only a few people used the hot tubs, and no one was in the pool (that was a Sept. cruise, but the weather was actually warmer in AK on that trip).
Not a bad looking ship, especially for the category, or some of their older ships.. I like the general blue color scheme, more pleasant than let's say, red.
+JhbTeam It's been years since we've been on the Spirit, but it is a great ship. I hear great things about the waterslide, the steakhouse (I believe it's called Nouveau) and of course the Alchemy bar (go there for martini tasting!)
Thanks for the video. OMG I am shaking. I just booked my first cruise with NCL on the Jade. Sept this year. Any tips for me and my bf? He has never cruised. I have a few times but not NCL and I worked on ships for 5 years yet I feel like a newbie again!!!
Hi Sheri, just found your channel 😀, we are cruising to Alaska from Vancouver on the Jewel next year July all the way from South Africa (one of my bucket list travel destinations) 😀, would have been on the sun but they changed the ship now to Jewel! We took the drinks inclusive package and I was wondering if you can use it at other bars and lounges as well than just the 2 main room dining areas?thank you so much 😀
+Lilley Cummings You must be getting excited for your cruise! Here is a playlist of our Alaska videos with some fun ideas for each of the ports we visited. Hope this helps! ruclips.net/p/PLCLybRxC0VFKMJYXpAl7QlVl1Z9G-kTdE
Hi Sherry, I'm going to be in cabo for thanksgiving week. We picked a room on the port side of the ship, can you confirm that this would be the side that faces land?
+mjguz +mjguz Its difficult to say! Usually the starboard side of the ship faces land When anchored in Cabo San Lucas, however, the ship will likely move throughout the day and in our experience the ship can entirely rotate throughout the day, if it's windy. When we cruise to Mexico we like to book on the starboard side of the ship so that we can see land when sailing on the way back up to Los Angeles (or whatever poor were sailing from) because we find that there's a little bit more to see. However I wouldn't worry about it.
+Brad Johnson LOL I see that the Jewel and Pearl are almost identical. Both Jewel class ships. I haven't been on The Jewel but I have been on The Pearl three times now too include taking her through The Panama Canal from Los Angeles to Miami.
+Brad Johnson I noticed the same with the Star being similar- it's funny how some elements of these ships are similar, but some are totally different depending on what level of refurb they've undergone.
Do you have to pay extra money to eat in the dining rooms, go to the spa, or things like the theater? or is everything included in the price of your ticket?
Great questions. On this ship, the main dining rooms and theatre are FREE, but speciality restaurants (which are delicious and totally worth it!) and the spa are not. These two videos (by us!) will help you: ruclips.net/video/ELqUtATRmxQ/видео.html ruclips.net/video/1DSlDryUi7k/видео.html
Well, because we live on the West Coast of the US, we tend to hit the Mexican Riviera and Alaska the MOST. We've also cruised the Caribbean and Canada/New England and LOVED those.
I live in a city (Richmond) that's right next to Vancouver British Columbia. Because of this, it's a lot easier for me to go on an Alaskan cruise however, i am very interested in the Mexican Riviera. Even though i will probably someday do both, which one do you think would be more worth it for me to do first? (i'm on a tight budget)
+Stubi L I wasn't able to find them with a search so what I would do is go to cruiseline.com and post your question in the forums and see if anybody can post them for you. Norwegian will have similar menus across the fleet so if you can find some 2017 menus from another ship for the main dining room they're probably going to be very similar.
Never ever buy their regular photo taken by their photographer in this cruise...We got ripped off for one photo worth US$27. The photo does not even have a logo of the cruise ship and the quality is just as good as our regular cell phone cameras these days.

+KJ Guest that's wonderful that you enjoyed that area. Did you try the hot tubs? How was the temperature?

Have any tips on the Carnival Spirit?

Hi Sheri, would you happen to know if the cabin doors are metal on the Jewel? I was wanting to put some small magnetic things on the front cabin door.

TSAR'S PALACE LOOKS IDENTICAL TO SUMMER PALACE ON THE PEARL ;)

Thank you for this video. I hope you have many more.
We just booked this ship for Sept 2017 Alaskan sailing. Do recall if Guinness was on tap or just bottled?
I THINK it was on tap, but am not 100% sure.

CruiseTipsTV thanks! Your videos are so helpfull as i myself will soon embark on my first ever cruise (10 days)!
CruiseTipsTV where are your favourite places to cruise to?

Do you have any tips on the Norwegian Dawn
+Halle Fun Zone I've on the Dawn. It's nice too!
+Halle Fun Zone I haven't been on Dawn, sorry! Check out the boards and reviews at Cruisecritic.com to get some good intel.
Anyone know where I can get sample menus from? Website is not helpful. Going on Jade in Sept from UK. Thanks.

Nice try, rival cruising company.
How do you get video without any people in it?
Dry dock.
What is up with Norwegian and shirtless statues

Where is the piano

+Trixter 0687 We did too ;-)
What is up with cruise ships and food?
Is NCL Jewel considered a big Ship?
It’s considered more mid sized 😎

Family trip to Alaska on Jewel. Great staff, great excursions, great room, and Alaska was beautiful.
+Tracy L so good to hear - Jewel is a nice ship
The thing is, I actually went on this ship to Mexico X3
Should've been a fish restaurant.
