I didn't like em too much until I watched this video but now I can't wait to buy a pair, and I'd Rather wear samba everyday than Uptempo or Jordan 4 red thunder💀
Depends if you want an ugly bulky shoe or a nice sleek shoe like the samba I prefer the nice sleek classy looking shoe so to me worth the hype ,it’s about time something classy back instead of the childish schoolboy look
It may have started as a futsol shoe but as it evolved, at some point in time, it became Adidas' version of the German Army Trainer, mainly the GAT with three stripes on it and using the GAT outsole. Adidas also manufactured the generic GAT along with Puma who also marketed their own version of the GAT. High end renditions of GAT are also produced by fashion houses like Dior and Margiela.
since it's been around forever it will live on past its current fluke popularity, and I hope that popularity dies quick because it wasn't that long ago sambas were $50 at the outlet stores.
Not a huge fan. The pink version from Gucci was a nice color, but at the end of the day, it's still the same shoe...and they were $$$$--if you could even find them. The Margiela and Dior GAT's are a similar, but somewhat more interesting silhouette in my opinion...but also at a much higher pricepoint. If you want a similar retro look, i think the Onitsuka Mexico 66 is the way to go...and it's in the same price range as the Samba. Personally I love the Onitsuka Tai Chi, which is a lower profile shoe, but i don't think they don't make them anymore.
I mean the shoe has been around for wayy to long to just be a gimmick imo, if you're just buying the shoe because it's trending then I get you but if you just like the shoe there's really nothing wrong with it imo

changing your opinion on a shoe because of what someone else thinks of them is kinda sad
I had to go two sizes up to feel comfortable with the Sambas, but if you have found the right size they are great.

Great review. Old skool terrace trainer nut here from the UK
The answer to this question is always yes, if you like the shoe enough. No, if you don’t.
