- This cover goes out to my best friend Mike D!!! Thank you for pushing me to do this epic master piece. One of the hardest songs I have tracked this far as nothing in it is consistent or repeating not to mention attempting to play note for note. Big shout out and Thank You to my uncle Gene for introducing me to Metallica's ...And Justice For All album many years ago. As always Thank You all for watching. I hope you enjoy. No words. 🔥 P.S. Seems I am always learning something. Ya, I knew of Metallica, even if I wasn't a fan. I just started reading after seeing comments that caught my attention. Man, I never knew. Cliff Burton and the accident...he was only 24. Weirder that it was 37 years ago... unimaginable. So now I know where To Live is to Die came from. That they included some work from Cliff into the song makes it even more powerful. Sorry that I am so late Cliff... RIP 🙏❤️
This was one of the hardest songs I learned. Lars is still one of the greatest to do it

Interesting to see Cliff co-wrote this since AJFA came out in 1988 two years after his death. They must of had a lot songs already recorded for the album before he died!! Definitely an awesome song and your cover Mike is freaking killer!!\m/!! It sounds great and just awesomely played too!!\m/!!

@@thrasheusanonymous No they wouldn't of turned it down. It was Lars who told them to turn it down forgot the actual reason. Made no sense either way though!!
@@ZaxDrumsandGolf It was because Jason followed the guitar lines almost exactly, fighting for the place in the mix with James. He found his place on the Black Album.

@@Elbateristarupestre no reading or notation. It was all just learned by ear and memorization. I may have made a few notes to help me remember along the way. The more you practice the muscle memory kicks in

nice work! I did a Tool drum cover Rob A Stinkfest and a couple others, I just played along to the song, low budget....did you take the drum track out or are you playing on top of it
to track the cover I played along to the song (no click). once I had the drums recorded, I tweaked the original mix to somewhat remove the original drum track and placed my recorded drums into the mix
