Love that kind of new super trainer/performance trainer trend where the brands are putting their effort. Its exciting trend and theres huge demand I think. A couple of years ago there were hoka bondi etc but now 40mm stack height is normal. The super racers came before the super trainers 😂 My performance trainer is only 33mm vanish tempo and love them. Thank you for a great channel!
Think that baby just went to sleep while listening to dad. lol adorable. I wanted to buy this shoe but ended purchasing the mizuno rebellion wave 2, based on one of your other videos. Thanks!
Just found your channel. You are by far the best reviewer. Gives me the info I want and none of the filler content from these other shoetubers. I saw one review where they complained about not being able to pick up the pace in these shoes😂. You had no problem going sub 5:30 pace which leads me to believe that only the slow people are once again complaining just for the sake. Good job keep it up. Btw you just sold me on these bad boys 🤙🏽
The SC Trainer v1 is my all-time favorite shoe. Haven’t been able to find any more in my size and this sounds like the perfect successor. Matt, I wore a 9.5 2E in the SCT v1. Would this be wide enough in a 9.5 D?
Ran in it last week, reminds me of a more plush Nike LunarEpic high top shoe from a few years ago. The plate wasn't very propulsive in my opinion. Getting the sizing right is tough given the upper
Great review, thanks Matt… and it did NOT put us to sleep like Isabella … not sure whose more tired you or her 😂 Curious about the forefoot volume. Mizuno has been low volume lately in the rebellion series. Just wondering if this is similar. Thanks 😊
Man this is a great looking shoe and awesome analysis. How would this stack up vs the firmer superblast for a full marathon? Would it be stable enough?
I'm 68 years old & I do hill repeats 4 times a week. I don't jog or run 10-minute miles. What lightweight forward-moving shoe would you recommend? I''m 5'7 150 lbs.
Do you have any idea as to how this shoe places within the current Mizuno lineup? Is it going to replace the Wave Rebellion Flash or do they serve different purposes?
@@TolunayOrkun I saw it. And I just tried it yesterday. My goodness no way in heck would I believe it is Eva only. But it is good job Mizuno. Even much bouncier than most carbon plated plus peba foam.
I'm following more than a dozen RUclips and tik tok shoe testers/influencers (call them what you like) and none of them talks about the pace and the weight. Not every shoe is for every pace or bodyweight
Definitely more central guidance. Feels more stable as I found the sc trainer v2 unstable. I suspect this is from the wider central groove and wider shape. -Matt
@@i.p2088 I'm going to get some hate for that one. :) Honestly, I think the Superblast is a good shoe but I wasn't blown away by it like a lot of people were. It's OK; different strokes.
@@kuriosites I agree with you. After about 350 k I started to find the Superblast boring. Maybe because other Supershoe became available. I don't know if the new Mizuno Neo Vista can compete because it's much heavier and I think the midsole is a super critical EVA. NOT PEBAX.
@@i.p2088 @kuriosites I don't know what the midsole is but it is the bounciest thing I have experienced. A true super trainer. The superblast is about an ounce lighter... but the neo vista has a far more cushioned and resilient midsole. Although I have not tried it, the Superblast 2 is probably going to be more comparable as ASICS updates its foams to what is being used in the current Metaspeed Paris series.

Hey Doctors!
Awesome review. We got it at the office today and two of our testers took it out before lunch. The hype is real! So soft and fun.
Lars
Now this is a cool looking high stack shoe! So much better looking than the Hoka skyward which looks embarrassing.
Indeed the Skyward looks Like a toddlers Show but the Mizuno Vista Like a beefed Up Epic React RIP🎉
The skyward looks horrible and colorways terrible but I heard the ride is actually pretty good.
@@SofaKingA I heard that too but I just can’t get past the look of them.
Personally, I like the look of the Skyward X better. The women's colorway especially.
I’m not gonna lie the Skyward is as ugly as they come… but they do feel amazing underfoot
Your co-presenter is so cute!
Great head of hair too!
let there be an exclusive episode of this kinds of Super Trainer vs the GOAT Superblast and go over the details for all types of runners!😀
Have gotten to try it early… my runs won’t ever be the same again
Good to see mizuno on the upswing, they and puma are my two underdog brands
for me too, plus Diadora, which I havent bought yet
Couldn’t agree more 👍🏻😁

What will your baby's first running shoe be?
I want this, lets see when is released
Does Andrea like them? I need to know because I tend to like the same shoes she does.
Came here to say exactly the same.
The love the skyward x! The lemon color is better than the original but great shoe

Nice review! Your daughter is like... "dad, you got this right?!? I am going to take a nap now..."
This looks awesome, Hoka Should be shaking in their boots
I love the bounce of the Invincible 1, but it’s not cut out for racing. This looks like it might be…

Heck! If this one is a better version of NB SC Trainer v1... it's a go for me!
Oh yeaaa. Finally an alternative training shoe to the Boston 12😊
Great review, thanks Matt… and it did NOT put us to sleep like Isabella … not sure whose more tired you or her 😂
Curious about the forefoot volume. Mizuno has been low volume lately in the rebellion series. Just wondering if this is similar.
Thanks 😊
Heel counter perfect for Achille’s deformity ( Haglund ).. I suppose; energy return respect Superblast?
This has me curious… a Mizuno with 8 mm drop so I can actually consider this one.
the various Mizuno Rebellions are 8mm and less
Man this is a great looking shoe and awesome analysis. How would this stack up vs the firmer superblast for a full marathon? Would it be stable enough?
How is the sizing and stability?
I'm 68 years old & I do hill repeats 4 times a week. I don't jog or run 10-minute miles. What lightweight forward-moving shoe would you recommend? I''m 5'7 150 lbs.
Do you have any idea as to how this shoe places within the current Mizuno lineup? Is it going to replace the Wave Rebellion Flash or do they serve different purposes?
It's 60 gr lighter than the Hoka Skyward X ❤
it looks really promising 😀
And $45 cheaper too, at least in the US.
It's a Pebax / EVA blend midsole, as per Mizuno.
how much pebax? Where did you get the source?
@@johnsonch7292 it's literally in Mizuno's specs on the shoe.
In the interview here on Doctors of Running, the Mizuno designer revealed that it is EVA which surprised Matt quite a bit. Check it out.
@@TolunayOrkun I saw it. And I just tried it yesterday. My goodness no way in heck would I believe it is Eva only. But it is good job Mizuno. Even much bouncier than most carbon plated plus peba foam.
This is the most lively shoes I have tried. Also very unstable, very soft and almost none stability measure on the upper.
How does the fit compare to other Mizunos? The Wave Rebellion Pro 2 fits me perfectly TTS. Thanks!
Nice Review 👌
Sounds like you have the same mechanics as me. How did you go with the sc trainer v2? I had to send them back for lack of medial forefoot stability.
How's the breathability on that upper?
Also, apparently it's not Pebax, it's an EVA-blend.
In the super trainer category, is this better than the superblast?
If the lowered the heel and the pull tab, they could have shed some more weight.
Feels Similar with rebellion flash 2?
I have the Mizuno Wave Rebellion Pro V1 and it's amazing shoe. Flash V2 was bottom heavy ❗and corse / bad fitting upper. I hope this one is better.
I'm following more than a dozen RUclips and tik tok shoe testers/influencers (call them what you like) and none of them talks about the pace and the weight. Not every shoe is for every pace or bodyweight

Matt, how would you compare this one to the SC Trainer V2? Is it wider and/or more stable? Thanks!
Definitely more central guidance. Feels more stable as I found the sc trainer v2 unstable. I suspect this is from the wider central groove and wider shape.

Excited by a high drop super shoe!
A good review - I turned on my child and he also fell asleep.😂
4:03 Annnd we’re asleep 😴
Not interested in a Mizuno shoe. Just wanted to check in with your adorable daughter
Wish "neutral" shoes would stop getting so wide underfoot. I know why they do it but don't call it a neutral shoe
Looks cool but can’t ever see myself buying a Mizuno shoe 🤷🏻♂️
why?
