The girl warrior doesn't realize she's being tattooed under water is because she is actually getting a fish pedicure to her hands as they're full of blood. Bahubali means a person with super strength. Bahu - Arms, Bali - stength, Armstrong. The royal clan is basically demi gods. Bahubali series are the movies i have watched most number of times, still can watch any time. The movie was made with the budget of 22 million USD and was the most expensive Indian movie of that time, that is why the inconsistency in CGI. Many west audience didn't understand that, it was a big risk no other movie was made at that scale before and the big thing was it was produced by a regional film industry that most of the North Indian people didnt even watched before. The movie broke the language barrier in India and was released in multiple regional languages. Basically SS Rajamouli took the first step towards uniting Indian film industry. When you watch that Netflix documentary you will know how they made it. Father Bahubali personality is somewhat based on Shri Ram( Ramayana) and son's based on Shri Krishna(Mahabharat). They both are the Avatars of Hindu god Vishnu. Smile on the face is biggest part of their personality. His whole family works with him. Father writes the story, cousin brother music director, wife costume designer, his sister in law, son and daughter handel production, nephew sings songs. He didn't smiles at camera he smiles at the subject in front of him. It is basic edit cut A to B. Anna is confused. Those some absurd shots, breaking through rock on horse all that is for audience reaction and fan service so the fans can whistle watching their favourite star doing impossible and seductive songs basically are also a tool to attract them to theater because the budget was gone way above, he wanted to get more and every kind of audience to come to theater. You wont find seductive thing in that intention in 2nd part. He tells all these things in documentary. The actors gave 5 years to the movie. They devoloped new language for the villain tribe(at the end of part 1). About that statue its Shivling represents hindu god Shiva, In the begining of movie the sage tells his mother that if she worship lord Shiva, he may will grant her wish(her wish was to stop her son from climbing the waterfall), but instead when Bahubali/Shibu picks it up and placed under waterfall, instead of her mother he gets his own wish to climb waterfall. That dance is also a kind of worship dance to Shiva. Imediately after that he gets a hit in form of a mask and he climbed that waterfall. The universe/era is totally fiction total fantasy like Lords of the Rings.

The Shrek thing its fun comparison but the story of Baahubali was written way before 2010. He wanted to make it but didnt had the budget. So when he made Magdheer in 2009(with Ram Charan) that movie was a big commercial success and made him big director. He wanted to start Baahubali but the lead actor Prabhas was busy in other movies so Rajamouli had 6-7 months , then he decided to make a short film about a fly with the budget of around 100k USD but once he staretd he ends up making a full length feature film with 6 million USD budget. Rajamouli said Eega was the most difficult movie he had made till date and it gave him techinal knowldge and the big success gave courage to producer to start Bahubali.
29:10 If you watch the scene more clearly, you will find that Bahu going through all four main natural elements while reaching his kingdom. Like earth, water, fire, and air. Apparently when the film was not yet decided to be made in two parts, this was supposed to be the interval.
25:24 the thing that bahubali enters mahismathi, director intended to show that bahubali is entering by crossing 5 elements i.e, fire, water, air, sky, land but it's trimed due to length of the movie which make the scene nonsync
Pls read complete paragraph it will be interesting. Here is information about some deleted scenes of Baahubali 1 Scene 1 : When Shivudu fails to reach the other side of waterfall and falls down, a monkey too jumps with him but the monkey succeeds. The monkey again appears when Shivudu is thinking about the mask. That monkey brings clothes back. This gives Shivudu proof that there are people above there. By seeing the clothes and ornaments that monkey brought, Shivudu draws a beautiful girl that girl then turns out to be Avanthika which means Avanthika must be a royal too but taken by the rebellion after the Queen got captured. Scene 2 : the actual interval. When a soldier recognises Shivudu as Baahubali in the snow area, he immediately runs and informs Bhallaladeva and his father. The father then rages and tells how they killed senior Baahubali using five elements. While describing each element, the scene of Shivudu entering Mahishmati by crossing fire, water and remaining elements continues. After he jumped into the kingdom, the interval arrives - this was cancelled later Traditional things : the red powder used in statue erection, Baahubali’s sword buried in the same powder. This powder is called kunkuma. Kunkuma is used for auspicious events and preserving the things belonged to a royal, great person who served the country - it’s like a honour. For auspicious events like during the statue erection, the powder is also used for a scientific reason. Since the statue would be so heavy, to avoid such weight directly hit on to the ground, the powder is helpful to safely land the statue reducing the friction
@@ThePlotPals I live in the city where Baahubali was shot. Its shooting was majority done in “Ramoji Film City” in Hyderabad city of Telangana state in India. Makers decided to make the Baahubali shooting area as a visiting place for all which means you can go and see the things built for Baahubali even now. They made it as a Baahubali memorial. Rajamouli gave many regional interviews after Baahubali 1 where he revealed all deleted scenes. I watched all of them
The fish pricking on her hand to heal her wound will be the same sense as tattooing ... and she is half asleep ... Shivudu - he is an adventurous and curious guy apt personality to adapt and learn to Apply and tackle life! And he was always driven to the mountain specifically because that is his calling ... passing that obstacle causes him to exhibit his utmost grip and Bravery.
This plot isn't inspired from Lion king. Plot of a king being killed and his son returning to reclaim the kingdom is as old as it can be. But the inspiration was in some of the scenes that were similar to Lion king.
You can say whatever you want about Baahubali, you can try to compare it with any movie but always remember all those movies are nothing in front of Baahubali. It is one of its kind. And everything makes sense in the movie you just need to open your senses for e.g. in underwater tattoo scene the girl is in sleep and small fishes are touching her hand which is like a cover up for Shiva while he is making the tattoo.
40:56 The gesture shows somebody is above another. And kattappa told that would carry/placet his 'grandchild' on his head when given the privilege to hold the baby before devasena when the child is born as both parent's didnt have a father. And he fulfilled them after meeting the bahu after he just was born.
"The Lion King" has often been noted for its similarities to stories from various cultures, including the ancient Indian collection known as the Panchatantra. The Panchatantra is a compilation of moral stories, many of which feature talking animals that teach life lessons. This resemblance highlights the universal nature of storytelling and how different cultures can share similar themes and ideas. Similarly, "Sher Khan" is famously known as the antagonist in Rudyard Kipling's "The Jungle Book," a collection of stories set in India, where many characters have names derived from Hindi or other Indian languages. This practice of using animal names in Hindi not only grounds the stories in their cultural context but also makes the characters resonate more with audiences familiar with the language.
The stone statue opening of kattappa killing bahubali 42:45 you are talking for part two, it is for opening titles where the director shows full story of first part bot statue❤
Its funny whenever i see these two lady react, i reminded of women in Ramayan who tries to disturb sages from doing yagya by throwing skeleton bones in the firing pit.😂😂
I don't think its weird that he put shiva linga stone there. His mother is pouring the water for ritualistic purpose so he put it there to say hey mother the god will bath in the holy water ever second, happy now?
36:55 that’s pretty common in Indian movies/stories. As old as Mahabharata, literally 1000s of years. Krishna is born in jail, raised by unsuspecting mother. Karna is abandoned as baby of unmarried mother, raised by “adopted” (more accurate would be “found”) parents.
28:48 Him doing all the weird cool things on the way back to Mahishmati is a bit symbolic of spiritual beliefs. There's a belief that for a undertaking to be successful not only the Gods but the elements have to be appeased. He crosses the water hurdle, pushes through earth with his horse, escapes fire and thunder and pretty much flies through into the fortress.
You're not paying enough attention to the dialogues and scenes. Many of your questions were answered already in the movie. Are you talking to each other while watching the movie?😂
17:14 our book Panchtantra was already very popular in persia 1500 years ago and through persia went even further all around the world, and ofcourse all our literature probably had lot of effect on ur culture, whether this Ramayan, or Mahabharat or Kathasaritsagar, kalidas's work and all other classics
14:58 ancient Indian people were built different Research it 😝 and emotions can make you do anything impossible Edward Stephen who lifted 500 kg weight in deadlift scientist said it is humanly impossible but he had done it because his wife and child died in a car accident before the event and he promised them that he would lift (something like that ) I don't blame you guys as Rajamouli make films only for Indians nuances that only Indian can understand and only the Indian audience are not very judgemental and they do prioritize emotions and storytelling than vfx and logic 😅
For me , personally , the intermission scene of the first Bahubali movie is the best scene out of all Rajamouli movies . It's basically a character intro of the father Bahubali character that we are introduced to post intermission . It's the king's birthday and everyone is chanting Bahubali's name and he can't do SHIT about it with all his strength and powers . Bahubali has a lot of Hindu cultural symbolism to it , therefore , it's not easy for foreigners to connect to it as much as indian audience can . For example , Kattappa is bound to the throne , he is not the typical slave you might refer to in Roman or Greek history, here it's more of a matter of honour . Honouring the word of your ancestors which was a thing back in those ages
The lady who informs the mother that shivdu is trying to pick the Shivlingam while his mother is filling water in river scene. similarly there are many in background.
I think the way to look at this movie is that it is a play. The acting reminds me a lot of indian plays where actors do not blink and prone to dramatic reactions than natural ones. I think you can find a bit grounded performances from ram charan in rrr.

1. You can clearly see woman in the village down the water fall . It's just the head of the village and his wife didn't had children till then . So now after taking the baby the woman decided she will raise him as her kid and decided not to have kids . 2. The Stone You are talking about is idol of Lord Shiva (Lingam). 3. Rajamouli created some of the most powerful woman characters in Indian Cinematic history . The way the woman holds the baby in the river is just she put her arm in a way where the hand couldn't bend because of the water movement and she dies . it's just her body holding the baby . And as a fact in the ancient people have such abilities like holding breath for a long time like literally days . but I can't say what part of it the director took here . 4. And the Mythology is never based on the Epic RAMAYANA . This movie has a lot of Soul references of MAHABHARATHA . And I can guarantee you this movie characters are best inspired by MAHABHARATHA rather than THE LION KING . Cause If you read MAHABHARATHA you can clearly understand it has every kind of character you can ever imagine .

lol..your review and enthusiasm is infectious. I hope Rajamouli comes across your review of his movies. More than any accolades he will be thrilled by your comments 😊. Anyway, I would recommend a historical movie , not at the level of Rajamouli’s movie , very far toned down but am sure you all will definitely love this movie I am recommending it’s called “Jodha Akbar”. It’s a fictionalized account of a very famous king , Akbar , and one of his 4 wives also known as Jodha ( Akbar was the Grandfather of Shah Jahan , who built Taj Mahal for his beloved wife Mumtaz).
First question you asked, "Why does he put the rock there?" -- By this time you might have known by the below comments that it is not rock. -- Our Hindu religion(originally called "Sanatan Dharma") has many gods, each god has a way of worshipping procedure likewise Christianity, Islam etc. -- Lord Shiva is mostly(not always necessarily) worshipped in lingam(stoney structure) form, to worship him we do a procedure called Abhisheka.Which means pouring liquids(like water or any other natural) on the lingam to please the lord. --The old lady(Sanga) trying to do the same to please the lord so he can change the obsession of her son to climb the mountain. Director Rajamouli was deeply inspired by many mythological and historical stories from our rich Indian culture and recreating few things to connect them to moden world. Our religion and mythology is so vast in all directions and is interlinked. If you are starter and difficult to understand complex things don't worry! Your interest will get you through.

India has total of 121 languages(just now googled it to make sure), but many of them don't have any script. So Indian has 22 major officially recognized languages with long history and culture. So don't be surprised when an average Indian says they can speak 3-4 languages. Oh, yeah, Hindi is the most spoken language India. But India doesn't have any national language and use Hindi or English for Government document files. Telugu is SS. Rajamouli's mother tongue(which is also mine) mostly spoken by the two states Telangana and Andhra Pradesh situated in southern part of the India.

Actually there are lots of funny illogical fights either in this or in Second film....I like every aspect of the Director but i didn't like that fight scenes in his films....If he hires a good hollywood fight choreographer then he will be perfect 🙂 I hope he will not make these mistakes in his next films which has high probability of targeting Globally...Coz I am watching his films since my childhood , He done around 12 or 13 films i think 🤔 and every film got profits and hit Some of them are risky budgets at those times as per Indian market....He is like a James Cameroon of India and he is really a mad person like Cameroon in Passion and believes in his content very strongly....Every time we watches his films we will be amazed and we might expect something for his next film then he will put unexpected things which blows our mind in his next film which will give completely new experience...that's why I said he is James Cameroon of India.

Thanks so much, I loved reading this🤩 So right about the fan-service, I watched Prabhas breaking the rocks with his horse maybe 25 times.
@@ThePlotPals You guys really don't like Indian movie but to make fun of it. west country's movies are so realistic 😂 while watching west's movies you loses your sense🤯 and here indian movies don't make sense 🤔 thankyou for for watching indian movies sarcastically🙏

Now I want to watch baahubaali again
Me too🌞
Kalki is a must watch .
Same Actor and Rajmouli makes a cameo too .
Legend of prince Rama is very good film if you want to watch ramayana
Thank you!
I still Remember watching Bahubali 1in the theatres and getting mad because of that Cliff Hanger.
This movie changed of Indian cinema ❤❤
29:10
If you watch the scene more clearly, you will find that Bahu going through all four main natural elements while reaching his kingdom.
Here is information about some deleted scenes of Baahubali 1
Scene 1 : When Shivudu fails to reach the other side of waterfall and falls down, a monkey too jumps with him but the monkey succeeds.
After he jumped into the kingdom, the interval arrives - this was cancelled later
Traditional things : the red powder used in statue erection, Baahubali’s sword buried in the same powder.
Dang, how do you know this?! These scenes sound so epic😳
40:56
The gesture shows somebody is above another.
🤣
There was other women in the tribe where Shiva was raised but director didn't show us as it's not important
Yes we want that. Please do that podcast but make 4 or 5 parts of it. You can watch Ramayan animation movie for a basic idea about it.
Amazing😍
You're not paying enough attention to the dialogues and scenes. Many of your questions were answered already in the movie. Are you talking to each other while watching the movie?😂
17:14 our book Panchtantra was already very popular in persia 1500 years ago and through persia went even further all around the world, and ofcourse all our literature probably had lot of effect on ur culture, whether this Ramayan, or Mahabharat or Kathasaritsagar, kalidas's work and all other classics
41:10
Just watch part 2. There is still a lot of context to it.
And it will hit hard.
14:58 ancient Indian people were built different
Research it 😝 and emotions can make you do anything impossible
Edward Stephen who lifted 500 kg weight in deadlift scientist said it is humanly impossible but he had done it because his wife and child died in a car accident before the event and he promised them that he would lift (something like that )
I don't blame you guys as Rajamouli make films only for Indians nuances that only Indian can understand and only the Indian audience are not very judgemental and they do prioritize emotions and storytelling than vfx and logic 😅
Correction : lion king was in 2019
Bahubali was in 2015 .....
Who took inspiration from whom.......!?
bro the lion king in 2019 was a remake from 1994 animated movie.
Hey! I like you guys a bunch. This makes a great podcast. You are:
1. Fresh and relatable
2. Care for the content
I have a suggestion - it’s the angle you guys sit. You should be angled more towards the camera. Like 45 degrees. It’s so much more welcoming to the audience. Think about conversations you see - we can always see the person’s face more. This will help the video as I want to see your reactions. You could also have a split screen with a camera pointed at each of you
Thank you! A wonderful tip🤩
Read bhagavat Gita because some scence are inspired by this book. And his dream project is Mahabharata. And lot of people says this book clear all problems and doubts in your life.

Ramayana and Mahabharata are not mythology but 'ithihasa' - a historical account of events in the ancient Indian civilization.
9:24 No She is not the only Women....When you see the next scenes where she is Pouring water on the god Rock you can see there are other women's as well and while shivudu is trying to break God stone for lifting...it's another women who told Shivudu mother that her adopted son is destroying God stone... Its not told anywhere but I think She might have giving Birth issues 🤔

This is the Masala genre done right kind of movies
This is most hard to do to include all genre in one movie still a great plot
Rajamouli is a maestro in this
Advantages of masala movies that you can strat this with any mood any time without researching about it and be confident that it will surely entertain you with plot dance action not only that you can start the movie from anywhere still you will be entertained and get the plot 😂
Some othe great Masaal movie director includes ...These directors can make anything comedy action drama romance
Rohit Shetty - Chennai express , Cop universe (watch this as a new movie from this franchise will release in this year)
Prabhu deva - Dabbang , Rowdy Rathore
Atlee, Kabir Khan , Sukumar , Lokesh kanangraj
What a great way to put it, exactly true. Thank you so much for the masala recommendations🥰

The Ramayana is going to take a lot more than 10 hours to learn in detail and we would love to have your reviews on the Ramayana doesn't matter if it even takes 10 hours or long.

Ramayana: The First Epic. The second poem. First was a curse given by the writer, that's when he realized what a unique thing it was-that's when poem was born. Thousands of years ago.

lol..your review and enthusiasm is infectious.
Thank you for the kind words😍🥰 and the recommendation!
First question you asked, "Why does he put the rock there?"
-- By this time you might have known by the below comments that it is not rock.
Your interest will get you through.

original form.
It is not believe it is truth
first of all let me give an clarity on it, it is not real story it is frictional story which its nor make real indian epics like ramayana and mahabaratha the director inspire from this epics that all and L appreciate you guys you gather lot of info about movie and try find more info about story line.
First of all in India you cannot have affairs with any man whomever the woman wants especially in Ancient Times. Hindu Culture teaches morality that only a married woman should consummate with her husband not with others. Thats the Beauty of Sanatana Dharma i.e., the original name for Hinduism. Please before commenting go do some research on foreign culture and leave your lens behind.

You guys are totally missing the plot. I am amazed you still like the movie. May be because this movie is made primarily for Indian audience. It’s deeply rooted in Indian culture. The whole part where the baby was found by her and raised is shown as God’s wish as queen mother prays to Lord Shiva. Guys, try to understand this aspect watch it again. You will like it better
Don't ever think that BAHUBALI is inspired or copied from the lion king, we have our own EPICs to get alot of inspiration.

SS Rajamouli's 'Magadheera' will be a good recommendation.
Telugu is part of 22 major languages.
When are you doing part 2??? Is it a resction or review?

Not lion king which itself was inspired by white lion kimba Japanese. The story of a baby whose evil uncle is trying to kill him so he is hidden for yrs ina tribe and comes back and kills his uncle and frees his parents is the story of Krishna.
This movie is inspired by a jain epic of king bahubali tirthankar.. not from ramayana not from mahabharata but from a jain epic story

Maybe a Hollywood choreographer would be a good addition to his team, but honestly King Solomon knocks it out of the park for me😮🤩
