  • Are you looking for tips to reduce your TMJ pain? Most often Jaw Pain is caused from too much tension built up in your muscles that close the jaw. Avoid clenching, chewing gum, grinding teeth, and laying on a pillow that puts excessive pressure on your jaw line. Try massaging the muscles of your jaw and dont forget the Pterygoid muscle found inside your jaw. Also try yawning as a mechanism to loosen the muscles. If you need additional guidance please visit my website www.NorthTampaChiropractor.com

      Aaisha Tillman Dr Weinstein's tmj headband stops night teeth grinding and clenching, which means it addresses the root cause of tmj and is possibly able to actually cure it. I strongly recommend it.

    I've suffered from this pain for decades. TMJ Dysfunction is caused by a disc in the TemporoMandibular Joint (located in front of your ears, one on each side) that keeps popping in and out of joint or is completely dislocated. I know from experience. Because no one would accurately diagnose it and get support to my joint long before now, my TM Joint is now irreparably damaged.
    There are a whole host of health issues that start happening either because of TMJ, or they develop into TMJ. Appropriate diagnosis and treatment by a qualifed dentist is essential. Chiropractic support should be a therapeutic addition only and not a substitute for appropriate diagnosis and treatment. TMJ is complicated. Do yourself a favor! If you even think you might have TMJ Dysfunction, seek out the help of a dental professional who treats "TMJ" almost 100% of their practice.
    Check out a list of specialists with the American Academy of Orofacial Pain (AAOP) on their website. They're trained to diagnose and treat TMJ and help with pain management. I recently visited one and finally began to get the answers I need, after 4 years of being treated incorrectly by other dental professionals.
    TMJ dysfunction can lead to sleep apnea which has been linked to heart arrythmia and AFIB & more. Check out this book: The TMJ Healing Plan. Look for a certified Orofacial Myologist...someone who is trained to help with all kinds of facial pain and incorrect tongue placement issues, and much more.

      slyvester5985 Does your back of neck get sore or get bad jaw pains or bad headaches, those are main signs of tmj, also jaw clicking and out of place jaw movements are also symptoms of tmj.

      Randal back of neck down to shoulder, ear popping or pressure and not headaches but more like tension pressure

    • @guitarstalkandtech9085
      @guitarstalkandtech9085 6 лет назад

      Success Cometh most time if your neck is sore on the back of your neck alot and you didn't strain or workout and it just sore all the time those are symptoms of tmj. And if you clinch alot that will make your tmj and neck even worse. Best thing is too not clinch at night or when your stressed and massage the jaw with your palm of your hand to relieve the muscle tissue. I've had tmg for 15 years now.

      praveena lakshmi chaitanya laxmi this happened to me while giving a speech in class as well! I ended up having jaw surgery in high school where they had to go in and flush out bits of my bone that were floating around in the joint area from being grounded down. My "cushion" between the joint isn't there anymore and the bones continually rubbed. It doesn't get locked anymore but the jaw paint is constant just as it always was, maybe even more since it's been 8 years since the surgery.

  • @amel6206
    @amel6206 5 лет назад

    The tooth grinding can happen BECAUSE you have a dislocated jaw! It's painful! Teeth grind! Teeth get cracked from the grinding and have to be removed! You can lose your teeth! Like me. See a TMJ professional. These massages can help you with the pain but that may be all! Find a TMJ and Orafascial specialist dentist. I did and I'm finally getting answers. You can find one by checking out the website for the American Academy for Orofacial Pain. Also...check out this helpful and comprehensive book, The TMJ Healing Plan.

      Hi, this is an interesting point you brought up. I have joint Hypermobility and when I open my mouth wide, I always do it in a double-jointed way/subluxation. It is possible that this is what caused my discs to become displaced and in turn caused teeth grinding, rather than the other way round.
