I had developed a cross bite from a dislocation and from my mouth being being open for a long period of time to remove my wisdom teeth. The clicking always been painful and eating certain foods sucked. I had an tmj specialist explained to me what I had (great doctor and was super informative). But the pain lingered for years and became part of a migraine issue. I hated yawning cause the pain would start a migraine. These exercises helped lower the pain and eliminated the oncoming headache

I'm an old coot. Got 2 back teeth pulled out. After 4 days, I couldn't open my mouth more then a few millimeters. Living off soup. After the first week doing the exercises, I could eat thin bread. Now I can eat toast bread can open my mouth just over 1 1/2cm now. Really wasn't expecting this to happen. Didn't know what was wrong until Dr Google brought me to Nurse RUclips. Thanks so much. I will continue to do the exercises that have helped me tremendously. Thank you so much boys.

Literally eased a week of pain with one move. I had a bad flare up and my pain was so terrible, doctor just gave me anti inflammatory medicine. I opened my mouth, saw chin was going to one side. Did the suggested move and there was an audible pop when it clicked back into place. I have been in so much pain all week and this cut it in half! Thank you for posting, I'll be continuing with the massages and exercises.

This saved my sanity! I have been having pain off and on when I would chew on the right side of my mouth for about a year. It would be a sudden, very painful pop. Over the past 4 months, the pain was increasing to every other meal or so, if I wasn't mindful of how i was chewing. Then the constant jaw crackle in my right ear every time I moved it started a few months ago. If I made chewing motions without food in my mouth the right side would pop with every chew.
A month ago, I woke up one morning with tinnitus in my left ear; roaring, sometimes a hi pitch that would vary in volume between 3 and 5 and was driving me crazy, until last night. Last night, I did these exercises and got immediate relief with the TMJ pain. The tinnitus volume is down to a faint 1 and when I make the chewing motions without food in my mouth, no more popping or crackling sound! Today, when I chewed my food, there was absolutely no sound and or pain!
I am AMAZED and SO GRATEFUL to you both for sharing your knowledge. It has improved the quality of my life for sure. I was starting to feel hopeless. I can't thank you enough. I know that I grind my teeth and will be getting a guard for that and will continue to do these exercises and focus on my posture which I know I is bad. Thanks again. Subscribed, liked, rung the bell, and will tell everyone I can about this channel.

me too I thought my eustachian was blocked because I would get a random feeling of relief like a salty fluid moving out of the ear and fullness in the ear.I went for Ct scan and all my sinuses were okay but the doctor had never seen anything like it.I did my own research and found out that this muscle can block blood flow to the side of the face with ear problem.that fluid you can feel is blood that manages to squeeze through with a little relief.chronic stress is what caused all of this in the first place

Thank you for this video, I’ve had this for months and it’s so painful and frustrating. I just want to send all my respect and regards to these great doctors. I was suffering from TMJ from 3 years or more. It was painful in the beginning then it just became clicky. Every time i chewed anything it clicked. I was one left side of jaw. I was not able to chew for more than 5 mins straight. Sometimes i got a feeling that it will be locked in that position while sleeping or chewing. It was horrific. If the jaw gets locked or dislocated suddenly then it would be medical emergency.
Initially i saw there video and ignored it. Then after 1 year or so this appeared in youtube recommendation then i watched it and did the massage for 2 -3 days for maximum of 20 mins in total. My jaw was coming to its normal position but it was very weird feeling when eating because my right side upper jaw and lower jaw were not making a proper alignment on top of each other while eating. I continued to eat from left side now🙃 which was not possible earlier. But gradually within 1 month or so i they were fixed. Now i am almost 98% tmj free. Its been 10 months from that time but i still have fear that they will get dislocated if i try to be adventurous with my eating habbit.
But for most part i am pretty normal and happy in regards to TMJ.
i hope this story could help someone. Pls follow as these doctors say.

Long time sufferer of TMJD and former Massage Therapist.
Broke a steering wheel with my face, in a restored pink VW Bug, myy 1st car. Drunk ran a stop sign on the street I grew up on.
5 years in orthodontics AND tons of PT, I've managed.
25 years later, at least migraines aren't debilitating anymore. But I still have migraines and cluster headaches.
As a MT, I learned alot of coping skills. My traps bulge, neck, back and teeth are still effected and times my jaw just clinch up.
Gums are receeding from the TMJ, but I still have a nice set of gams.
Probably will have to so a gum graft at some point.
Anywho, just want to thank you for this video. It never occured to me to massage this way to release tension.
Im getting a new occlusion gaurd soon and add on this technique, I hope for relief.
Need a massage too...but Im picky who massages me.

Trying all the massages and exercises you guys have posted, I went to an ENT cause I thought maybe he would know what I’m talking about, about all he knew was what TMJ was. Every other doctor I’ve told about this looks at me like whaaaa? But the ENT just told me to eat on the other side when I have tmj horribly on BOTH sides. I think more doctors need training in this to actually be able to help

Where were you guys years ago? I had to have surgery on one side, replacing the cartilage with silicone. Then removing the silicone 4 years later due to it being shattered. I now have only the scar tissue for cushioning. I also swing to one side, but I can live with that. Going to the dentist is always uncomfortable with having my mouth open wide for so long.
