That one officer is the guy you want with you when shit hits the fan. Handles pressure like a boss. Unfortunately for him the same can't be said for his 2 partners. He gave them simple clear instructions and he had to keep repeating them several times before they did anything. I understand that they're having a lot of emotions, but you can see the difference in the way some people handle those emotions very clearly in this video.
Adrenaline is crazy and can make it really hard to hear anything but a puffy ringing in your ears so I don't blame them but that one officer handles pressure very well

Being a minivan, there is a lot more room, a nice open area between the seats, especially if it's a base model without a center console. Just open floor between the seats.

I don’t know how promotions take place there but in my home state it’s by police exams. My family members who have moved up the ranks have done it for two reasons, Better pay and to get off the street. I have also lost to family members in the line of duty so I can understand their reasons.
When I have a bad day at work, and I've had my share, no one ever shoots at me. The police are extraordinary. They balance public safety with personal safety all day, every day. They are not perfect, but they are pretty damn good.
That officer, despite the adrenaline of being in a shootout, was making snap decisions and giving directions to his guys pretty well. Good job.

That larger cop , I believe he was the second one to arrive, he was on point from the second he arrived on the scene. He was looking around keeping track of the situational awareness and he was the first one to spot the suspect pull the weapon, he was the first one to pull his weapon, and he was the first one to warn all the other officers of a gun. That officer has been on the streets a long time and I would definitely be proud to have him on the police department where I live or sheriff's department

jamison884 - I’ll agree with most of your comment. The only part I’ll disagree with is the idea that gun control laws don’t work due to volume in circulation. The very vast majority of guns are legally owned. The problem is the availability on the black market, and the failure of the courts to enforce laws currently in place. There are already plenty of laws on the books. More will not help. I spent 35 years in Public Safety as both a paramedic and police officer. In all that time, I saw probably hundreds of cases involving guns. Of all those cases, only 3 were with legally owned guns, and one of those was a guy who shot himself in the kneecap, because he forgot to unload the gun, before trying to clean it. EVERY other case involved guns obtained illegally. I agree that poverty and mental illness are significant contributing factors. I also believe that Gun Free Zones are a HUGE liability to law abiding citizens and their ability to defend themselves.
Just goes to show how really strict gun laws keep the guns out of criminals hands. Such a joke

This was like watching the Keystone cops. The Sgt looked like he was trying to train a new officer but was giving him instructions counter to what the lead officer was. The trainee was lucky he was not hit with crossfire. They did not even know how many other occupants were possibly in the vehicle, they should have checked that immediately upon approaching.

Great example of someone taking charge in a situation. It's not always the senior person on scene, but the one that can keep their head together. At some point, probably pretty quickly, the sergeant on scene will probably start thinking clearly. Any bets on whether the clear thinking officer is prior military? Training and experience count.

There's a lot more things to consider than just aiming. Considering their angles were poor, they weren't expecting a shootout, and they also had a cop on the other side of the vehicle so crossfire was a problem.

In fairness, the back window hit was because they circled all the way around the patrol car for cover and was shooting through that window on purpose.
That officer who took charge of that situation should be promoted. Displayed great leadership qualities in an extremely tense situation.
