But listen to some of Douglas’s playing on this track-I’d really hesitate to say that this isn’t bluegrass “in any way.” But I think we’re all agreed that this is an amazing cover, just as I’m sure that we’re all grateful to you for posting it!

You are very right in that it is beautiful but you are very wrong on this being bluegrass...it is not in any way. :-)
I know what pnyc means, though. This goes somewhere near the dark heart of Appalachian folk music.
