Renee Fleming - Hallelujah

Renee Fleming's rendition of Leonard Cohen's Hallelujah. From her album Dark Hope.
a song written by a deep and wonderful soul and sung by a blessed and captivating heavenly voice
Kudos to Billy Childs for this remarkable reimagining of Nyro's music. The performers are astonishing...
a blessed complicated love, adoration never lasts, but it was blessed
Goosebumps....
Amazing haunting version. I think Laura would approve.
This song seems like a dance or temptation with the devil. A great version. I love Alison and Jerry's dobro is uplifting.
Ohhhhhhhhhhh My ! --------------------Renee ! ---------------YOU are a treasure.---------------------------WolfSky9, 73 y/o
The great Vinnie Colaiuta on drums.
Just the very best!, thankyou allison and all.
Something didn't click with the first song!
Best duos ever, Plant & Krauss. Beautiful.
Just wow! Gorgeous!
Like CSN, a group like this comes along every 40 years or so - special music
Every thing that she sing or touch became a jewel. !! :)
A truly beautiful song, beautifully sung by a beautiful artist - love it and her!
Awesome:)
it's the best version ever, her music reaches all the way to us in Africa
Not religious but, beautiful rendition.
Really moved by this recording. Refreshing, new take on this great song.
Laura goes bluegrass and it's absolutely beautiful.
You are very right in that it is beautiful but you are very wrong on this being bluegrass...it is not in any way. :-)
I know what pnyc means, though. This goes somewhere near the dark heart of Appalachian folk music.
@@reddragonready6223 But both Alison Krauss and Jerry Douglas are known for their bluegrass artistry-not exclusively, of course. But listen to some of Douglas’s playing on this track-I’d really hesitate to say that this isn’t bluegrass “in any way.” But I think we’re all agreed that this is an amazing cover, just as I’m sure that we’re all grateful to you for posting it!
@@reddragonready6223 I think it could be a very cool bluegrass interpretation tho.
that last song is amazing! who's the vocalist?
That is Jeff White singing. jeffwhitebluegrass.com/

+Mark Mauck It's tagged by several related names Mark. With : Alison Krauss, Robert Plant, Led Zeppelin, Stuart Duncan, Raising sand tour and Black Dog., It also says in the description box who are singing(playing). Anybody not able to find this ..... You did however so I hope you enjoyed. :-)
This is a very interesting (good) version and sung with great soul much like the most popular versions. Was surprised she didn't sing it in the high range quite a juxtaposition from Jackies version where she sang it in a high range. Don't hate me I'm not comparing singers.
Was fortunate to be there the night before- great show. Loved the fiddle duets with Alison & Stuart- the best. IIRC, drummer is Jay Bellerose. Bassist: Dennis Crouch. HTH
+Jacques Blaque You are correct and I stand corrected. I see I misspelled Jay's last name and forgot to list Dennis Crouch. My bad! And my envy...wish I could have seen them live, :-)
❤❤❤❤❤
beautiful interpretation ! I love it! I cannot stop listen it...I found it on IHeart music and since then I listen everyday! Thanks LeAnn!
Love. This. Music.
that is amazing!!!!!!! Thanks so much for this upload!!!! Love it!!!!
Seems a little silly to compare the KD Lang version to Flemings. The voices, styles and interpretations are all so different. That's what makes them all so listenable. If all the same, would'nt that be REALLY boring. I think Flemings version is so controlled and Lyrical - her opera training I'm sure. Lang is so emotive and raw. All have their great points. Thank you Renee for showing such awesome range. Just listened to your rendition of Casta Diva - cannot believe it's the same voice.
Simply sublime.
love her! !
+Shine Chessher Ditto that ^^ since first hearing Alison back when.
I could listen them forever!
+Christian Daitsch most refreshing thing to come along in a while... I hope the do an album together..
Talk about well-matched -- they sound as close as The Roches! :)
one of the best renditions ever, its sic it doesnt have a million views
man i love this colab
Goosebumps all around.
they laugh like beavis and butthead HAHA how cute
The female CSN. Beautiful.
speechless. but have to say....wow
what is the name of the first song?
Guido Plüschke 100 miles
that is the one in the middle but what is the name of the first song. The one before the Instrumental?
Guido Plüschke Sorry my bad! it's called "Hornets"
Saw these three in Belfast just last Friday night 01/05/15. Outstanding performance, a great gig!
So excited to hear these and other great tunes from you three live at Rockgrass. Great work!
Just saw them in Bristol tonight - totally magical gig !! Standing ovation from the packed audience and they deserved it....Go and see them - :)
TheParatuner I'd love to but they are not touring here.
Wow indeed...
Oh my gosh, this needs to become an album.
Album!!
Wow. Just wow.
Wow!
Thanks for posting this.
You're welcome! :-)
Absolutely amazing. Haunting, melodic I just wish Laura Nyro were alive to hear this!
If you're a Laura fan, you must have found her performance, with acoustic guitar, elsewhere on RUclips. I'd say they were channeling her when they made this. Your words describe her version perfectly, too. Edit-It was a keyboard.
