Driving through New Hope in the early-'60s with my parents and maternal grandparents, my mother once commented, "Those are Beatniks, dear." New Hope, PA, the Artist's Colony, as I was instructed in my youth.

AVOID NEW HOPE IF YOU HAVE TO PARK. It's almost as if the Town Administration wants to entrap parkers by having the Kiosks in lieu of meters, so they can confuse motorists & practice ticketing ENTRAPMENT by not having clearly-defined parking spaces. GO TO LAMBERTVILLE, NJ INSTEAD!
Oh, yes. I haven't seen where it's possible to park there since '98 or so. Just as well I suppose. New Hope is more or less captive to its popularity. I'm out of the area now so New Hope and everything nice shown in this video is no longer in easy reach. New Hope and the Temperance in Newtown were once favorite spots on weekends to see, be seen, etc.
