Sonorum Concentus Beethoven, I've watched this video many, many times now. I just can't get enough of it. There are other wonderful performances of Beethoven's 3rd Piano Concerto on RUclips, but this one is, in my opinion, the absolute best. Maria Joao Pires - what an artist! Thank you so much for sharing this video with her fans around the world.

Greetings from Canada! In this superb performance, Madame Pires is giving a master-class in fortepiano. Nobody can play better, so watch and learn. I'm also appreciating the fine period instruments in the excellent orchestra, and impressive directing! Thank you!

      She's marvelous indeed
She is one of the most superb Schubert and Mozart Interpreten together with Gulda Kempff BRENDEL and RUDOLF BUCHBINDER.
With an old and dying Frans Brüggen in the lead they form a heavenly combination. I've seen his "Orkest van de Achtiende Eeuw many times in Vredenburg-Utrecht.
With Pires it's a bit like the historical reputation of Fieldmarshall Erwin Rommel; not thát genius but still great!❤🎉

PC3's Largo is a profound statement of grief and awe, and it shines here because of Pires' complete simplicity. I, on the other hand, had to revise this one sentence four times to make it simple enough so I didn't cringe at it. 😆
