This video is sorta about on what you can & can’t do with a stock vehicle. Of course it’s got a few mods to it like aftermarket off-road tyres, bar work, suspension (maybe, idk) but other than those mods it’s fairly left factory, and of course this cruiser’s got factory lockers so it can go fairly far before you gotta start restricting yourself because you’ll risk breaking stuff on your vehicle, and THATS when you start adding more necessary gear, like recovery gear’s, winches, maxtrax, vehicle jacks, suspension lifts... you name it. But don’t go too far. You wanna keep things simple and not too complicated.

Really shows the benefit of rear coils. 70 series with coils all round would be nice.

Hey, not sure if Brenton knows but the active traction control works really well in the new 70 series. Im highly against electronic driving aids but was amazed at how well it works!!

Hey TSO! He was testing it out when we were at glasshouse mountains on this trip, it works really well it takes a few seconds to kick in but then once it realized which wheels were slipping it drove straight through! Really cool stuff :D

not everyone wants a noisy v8 especially if u are considerate about your neighbors upon arriving home late at night.

Phil Foote they need to do alot to the VDJ79s to get them up to scratch.
Coil is definitely on the list though the VDJ79 is a tow rig more than a offcamber 4x4 rig.
Definitely smarter and way less expensive options (like the 80) for low range offroad stuff

bull shit they perform well with just a 2" lift and 33" tyres although superior engneering spring hangers are the go gets the rear shocker and ubolts up and out of the way

For the money they perform pretty average. I’ve had 2. A 76 and a single cab 79. And for the type of driving I wanted it for there were FAR better choices for a fraction of the cost. Sold my last 79 back to Toyota and upgraded to a factory turbo 80 with plenty of change for trips and gear. Actually to be blunt about it both the 79 and the 76 were pieces of shit.
