    I think Hank told Pete the story about saving his life because he wanted Pete's help in covering up Ottis's murder. He wanted to guilt trip Pete.

    I felt like Hank and Pete’s conversation about Pete falling through the ice just illustrated to the audience and Pete how manipulative his dad was. We know Hank hasn’t been a great father and here he comes barging in bringing up the one time he did something good for him!! Peter was completely bewildered by the interaction and his face to me is saying “What the fuck is wrong with him!?” in an a dark way. But the scene was definitely awkward as fuck too.

It’s about the detectives during their investigation of a crime, and in season 1 and 4, teenage drama is involved because the detectives just so happen to have teen daughters going through rebellion.

    dude, that is the nicest-looking bald head I have seen in a long time. oh, good video, great content. solid theories. have you noticed throughout this whole season, the only one who interacts with rose is navarro? even in episode 1 at the body find, rose is off to one side and danvers walks by her like she is not there, and the only one who speaks to her, ever, is navarro. when they asked prior how they found the bodies, he replies "rose agenau". he does say she called, or she reported, or she saw; he just says the name. only navarro shows up at rose's party on xmas, and it looks like she is expecting a big crowd. navarro does not even bat an eye. navarro is seeing dead people everywhere she goes; she is very unbound. rose could be in her imagination.

And I'm so stunned that Navarro + Danvers just ... abandon Peter to deal with his father all by himself!? Are you effing kidding me with this? That's so callous. Whatever is down in those ice caves has been down there for years. It's not going anywhere, because if it could go somewhere I'm pretty sure Kate would have made it disappear. Maybe “who shot Wheeler” is the wrong question. And it’s more of a “why” situation. What if they both shoo him and we have been finding out the “why” throughout learning about the case?

  • @CiGiDancer
    @CiGiDancer 8 месяцев назад

    Starting at 07:38 you begin talking about Danvers' line, "you gotta learn when to stop asking questions." or something to have effect, anyway and you make the point of the irony (or the discontinuity) of her saying such a thing when throughout the show she has repeated a catchphrase that refers to asking the "RIGHT question"...
    I noticed this too... But, I find it hard to believe it isn't on purpose and either the line wasn't delivered in the tone it was meant by the writers as a reference to her catchphrase or is somehow related to something we havent seen happen yet!
    I just find it too strikingly out of character to not be noticed by anyone on production.

    Thanks for a recap, it's better than the channel that SAY they are recapping, but they kept spoiling themselves (showing ending at the beginning of their clip) and showing clip from past episodes over and over. To answer your question: Liz was just trying to appeal to Connerly when she mention Annie's death instead of the scientists, who she doesn't think he cared about them anyway. And in her defense, the show hasn't cared about them for 2 episodes now either. And as far as "asking the right question" from Liz, I think she meant: ask questions about Annie and the Scientist, not Wheeler, you silly goose.

    THIS is what I'm talking about! This is what I needed. These things should've happened in episode 3 or at least they should've had more interesting side stories and pacing to keep me engaged up until this point. It's looking like early reviews were right in saying the last two episodes are fire. It took too long to reveal what most could've guessed: Liz and Navarro lied about what went down in that DV call. I love how it comes full circle with Hank. Honestly Lea annoys the hell out of me and I see it's to further Liz's development but eh. I'm actually excited for the finale.

      And Danvers, the Beatles facist! If they were trying to make her character just a little bit likable then maybe making making her hate the Beatles wasn't the right way to go. I understand she's PTSD'd but if using music to show this that Billie Ilish song would be a great contender I could relate to as triggering.
      I sound like I hate this series but up to episode 3 I was digging it! Hated the characters still but the cast is good. Loved the opening scene, it was so spooky, Marie Celeste' like and ominous! The use of Ferris Bueller's Day off was awesome! Episode 1 had so much going for it.
      But episode 4 and 5. I had hoped for more redeeming characters to be fleshed out but nooooo, still really only got piercings, grumpateer sex addiction + fantasy football, mail-order brides, man/boy-cop workaholic, Intuits (to Inuit' intensely!), mad scientist to errrrr mad scientist seriously!! Etc etc.
      Give characters a good life philosophy and I'm on board. So far we have these cardboard cut out caricatures really. So story driven and that worked for me up to the end of episode 3. 4 and 5 were painful, 4 especially but really, what were they thinking! I'm still trying and I watch it again as having all the episodes to binge can change a person's perspective on shit.
      We'll see. Final episode, I'll remain optimistic it'll return to whatever I felt in episodes 1 - 3. Absolutely no hope of liking or even caring if anyone, literally anyone dies! Imagine if Marty or god forbid Rust had died by episode 5?!!! We'd be rioting like Danvers' daughter not daughter and taking those batton hits like champs!

    But the vet said the men didn't die from exposure, it was cardiac arrest, you don't die from exposure with screaming faces...so Blair and the women scared them to death somehow??...makes no sense but cling to that reddit theory. And the killer had two minutes of screen time and less than 20 words of dialogue... not buying it

      I’m all in on this theory. There’s no other logical answer

    • @crozraven
      @crozraven 8 месяцев назад

      gas poisoning could cause a cardiac arrest. So maybe the killer shut the power outage in the caves, leaked the dangerous gas from mining while scientists were in the caves, they managed to get out of the caves but suffered from heart failure. Still doesn't explain why they are all naked while their clothes folded neatly out in the open, unless it was in the mid of contaminated cleaning procedures or weird ritual. Maybe the killer bring out their clothes after they were dead & frozen out of some kind sicko respects or something.

      So the Tuttles reference is a red herring, the spiral Cult doesn't exist, no connection to Carcossa and real evil, just fed up women? Or are they going to be some chanting Cult of sick weirdos....I'm not saying that it can't be the women, just that if it is, we've been had and it's the worst season ever...can't imagine that Issa sets herself up to be destroyed by season one stans, but at this point it's possible they've just cratered the series. Can't wait to see how they try to explain what started with promise the first two episodes and has since made a joke of all the symbolism imo .

    • @katies3338
      @katies3338 8 месяцев назад

      @@autkboth things can be true. Women could have killed the scientists AND Tuttle (by way of Kate) could have killed Annie. The spiral has been explained -a symbol showing weaknesses/entrances to the ice caves. The two cases were thought to have been linked bc of the symbol, but now it looks like they are linked to the caves.

    After ep 4 i couldn't stand the unnecessary cringey spectacles, the supernatural nonsense and the once again lesbian teen which is a must in every show nowadays 😜 (mare of easttown etc).. all these forced and unrealistic features (lesbian teens are not THAT common) along with the anti christian propaganda (foster mocks people who told her to pray for her dead mother) made it too ridiculous for me to watch. Also, when u have a scenery like that, there's no need to stuff the show with so much gruesome scenes and poltergeists.. the sotlambs used only 2,3 gruesome sights, this show took it too far on this, and is also too woke to appeal to everyday people...

    This show is unwatchable at this point and with only a couple episodes left it's impossible for anything to happen that will redeem it. It reminds me of when my wife and I went to the theater to see the much hyped Blair Witch Project in 1999 and at the 1 hour mark I turned to her and said "there is nothing that can happen at this point that will redeem this snoozefest". I was right, the last 21 minutes ticked off of the clock and we walked out of the theater pissed off that we got ripped off. That is how I feel about this season of True Detective.

    • @lexala
      @lexala 8 месяцев назад +1

      Haha! Bet you've been saying this for 5 episodes yet here you still are complaining. This episode was the most solid yet and most agree so it's clear you just have an axe to grind for other reasons. People are actually making videos calling out comments like yours and saying the show has been intentionally bombed on rotten tomatoes given the show only has gained viewers and not lost them as it proceeds.

    • @lexala

      @@lexala An axe to grind? That is a bizarre take to be sure. You need to climb out of the rabbit hole. No conspiracies' here, no nefarious motives just simply stating my opinion of this season. We were looking forward to it and who wasn't when they announced Jodi Foster playing one of the main characters. One of the main things I look for when I read a book, watch a movie or TV show is character development. Do I care about the characters. In this season of the show the answer to that question for me in no. This reminds me of the series that came out about 10 years ago called The Killing. It also had great actors in it and on the surface it looked to be compelling TV but was even worse than this season of True Detective. HBO could take a lot of lessons from XF and their Fargo series which to date has never had a bad season.
