I love that Milo and gang keep finding new ways to help us think about finding the right motions: I see amongst my group of hackers that the swing thoughts that bring us to our best impact vary, and it's only through trying different ones we can learn which work best for us. Online lessons with Milo have me hitting my best and longest at the age of 66 - my foursome partners say the ball sounds different coming off my clubface, a hint of that "sizzle" sound we hear when truly good players hit their long irons. However, my swing can still go off-kilter without me realizing what's changed, so probably even more important for amateurs to do slo mo video when we're swinging our best so when we go off track we can video the "bad swing" and figure out what we're doing different.
A good feel for me is that during the downswing my hands swing on a path directly under my chest. Thats the best way i found to keep my spine angle/chest down and its something i can visually see. Thanks!
Thanks Milo - every time I view one of your videos I learn something - was able to square my driver face by revisiting another video of yours - if I make it out to Arizona I will definitely schedule a lesson with either u or Henry - I’m crushing the ball because of Milo golf!
Searched for something explaining yesterday’s experience on the driving range. I think this is it. My chest was facing the ball in transition and I felt I could pull the driver through (trusting there was enough space underneath) and the club head arrived late through the ball. I will now look for an earlier video of your’s, describing how you “towed”the club trough. Thanks a lot. /Olle
Game Changer - this feel worked immediately for me on the range and on the course. I picked up effortless extra distance with more accuracy. I had record drives on several holes yesterday. Thanks Milo and Henry.
Best video yet to demonstrate the pelvic flexion on the downswing and torso rotation that squares the club face. Will like to see the next video for the upward trust in the lead leg to show the vertical GRF for power pushing against the arms going down toward the ground and target.
Great video! I wonder if anyone has ever done a GEARS video that show the relation of the tailbone and sternum. I think that would really be illustrative in connection with this video.
This is great. I actually figured same feel out recently to do it for getting my chest open at impact. Basically after transition I am trying to get my chest down and pointed at 45 degrees to the lead side as fast as possible. If I don’t, it’s easy to dump it under and sling it in-out. But it’s 100% necessary to have a strong grip and closed face or else it’s very easy to come over the top. The rotation and bent right arm it’s given me is sick
Hi Milo, Thank you once again for helping my golfswing. Watching your videos are always a huge inspiration🏌️♂️ Coming from Norway my biggest hero is obviously Victor Hovland. I see many simmilarities with your swing and Victor, especially the downswing and followthrough. Many don`t know this but Hovland is also a blackbelt in TaeKwon Do.🥋
Very cool Frank, and thank you for sharing! We like a lot about Viktor's swing. I believe we actually showcase him during our rotational golf swing blueprint: milolinesgolf.com/5-keys-to-unlocking-a-rotational-golf-swing/
When getting better at this. Is the right should going out towards the ball with adding right side bend? Is there going to be some of the towards the ball look.. Or does it need to track more down? My hands seem to track out while doing this.. Does that mean the rightside bend is to late?
4:37 i think its the opposite i like posting up with my hips in front gives my hands a consistent space to release i just dont like how he is flipping with his wrist i actually try to do what Henry is doing there except i fire my hips forward with more pressure in my left heal if you can show me a pro who doesnt fire their hips at the target after impact or before i want to see it driver swing
That's cool. How does a player stop swiping across in doing this motion? Does that head have to remain back until 3 o clock? Or just make sure the path is going in to out like Henry is doing here?
When you guys start the downswing where your body and everything lowers into position, is the club effectively free wheeling at this point? By that I mean, the lowering pivot action effectively sets it in motion? I know for the sake of videos you kinda hold it at impact but in a real swing the club is freely flowing through that point?
I've been playing off and on for years. I don't have a lot of time to practice and then having bad swing habits on top of that can be annoying. I know what I'm doing wrong but muscle memory tends to win out. Watching this type of movement makes sense but to get it to work is another story. At 55 I'm still very flexible and I can still put it out there 270-280 when hit well. Any suggestion? Love the channel.
Tried covering( hitting ) the golf ball with my chest and found ball flight was a LOT more consistent. With Driver ball faded more than I would like. Have a neutral to strong left and right hand - other than adjusting right hand stronger any other adjustments that u could recommend?
Great video as usual. I love this move and have been working hard to incorporate it in my swing. I worry though as you stay ‘down’ through impact, you are loosing an awful lot of power. We know from force plate data that the max pressure under lead foot is around shaft vertical in downswing, way before impact meaning that we need to be rising up and away before we strike the ball. Is this just a drill to get the feel?
Jon Smith ^What are you talking about?? Don't over think things .You are rising up with this drill . Which isn't really a drill . It's how you should be hitting all the time .
@@cramerlong2276 rewatched a couple of times. Watch Henry demonstrate the swing in slow mo @ 8:20. A beautiful move but look at Henry’s head relative to the backdrop during the swing. No rising up till way after impact, which if fine if it’s a drill but not how you should be hitting it all the time - not if you want to maximise yardage anyway.
If sequence is correct the whole lead side begins working up back and away from p5 through the strike even though the head isn’t rising because the pivot is working on an incline plane.
What works well for me is keeping hands arms and club in font of me in backswing, getting club lined up with forearm in transition, then I feel like I hit the ball with my sternum
Golf is a game of "opposites" and opposite of "up & out" is "down & in." Also, if I may, I was thinking this morning whilst not working at my job, that swing speed in one thing, but if the front right wheel isn't balanced properly the faster the car goes the more out of control the vehicle becomes. It's a gift.
My issue is I seem to be able to do this with a 7 iron and less but get a driver and it all goes back to standing up!! Very frustrating, I rehearse like you guys are doing and then the actual swing I'm just not doing it (with driver) any tips?
I was watching the professionals on TV. What's interesting, is that I didn't see many with their butt moving back, but most all had a visible chest lowering movement.
Milo, check out my short of my daughter swinging a club, she's 3 years old and I don't tell her a thing on how to swing. I think it's pretty crazy how similar it is to yours and your teaching
Not easy to change a pattern, especially one that ingrained. Have you looked into my online academy so me and my team could maybe help? milolinesgolf.com
it's not the problem to perform the image of covering your chest towards golf ball. Most golfers fear an injury to the wrists. So hit the golf ball too fat. That is why I would like a technical explanation to convince the golfers that they will not get an injury. Milo and Henry can you explain this. gr. chris
Hmm, most injuries I see in wrists are from a tree root or a weak lead hand grip. As I work down with my body, that doesn’t mean I am steep taking big divots.
It theory this lowering your chest to the ball makes sense..unfortunately for me, in reality, I was hitting fat all day..wasn't fun..So, I don't see how you can possibly not hit fat behind the ball using this process..JMHO

All extend hips at some point however most lesser players extend hips immediately in transition taking away all space to make a good swing.
That's cool. How does a player stop swiping across in doing this motion? Does that head have to remain back until 3 o clock? Or just make sure the path is going in to out like Henry is doing here?
Thoracic bend and wrist conditions I would say are two primary points.
When you guys start the downswing where your body and everything lowers into position, is the club effectively free wheeling at this point? By that I mean, the lowering pivot action effectively sets it in motion? I know for the sake of videos you kinda hold it at impact but in a real swing the club is freely flowing through that point?
We feel that the club gets towed along with our pivot and then slung out into and past impact.

Similar to Tigers "crunch" or "situp" to start downswing that he talked about.
For years that was frowned upon
