There are many great pianist in existing, rather they’re classical or jazz pianist, but rarely, one can do both classical and jazz in such high levels at the same time. Kudos to you, Cateen !
I honestly didn't know you before the Chopin Competition and I must admit I was a bit skeptical when I read that a RUclips star was taking part to that competition. How wrong I was! You are a true musical genius, thanks for the wonderful music you gift us!
My good man, to each his enthusiasm, however, a well-trained pianist, even if he may stand out from the crowd here and there, is not consequently a "true musical genius". The word genius includes something absolutely unique sublime and in this way not recurring. This can be said of performers for example like Rubinstein, Gould, Argerich. And this unquestionably highly talented young man, whom I also heard in his Chopin interpretations, does not (yet) have that to show, his compositional activity included. When will you people of today learn to properly appreciate the meaning of words, please. Kindest regards
@@Che.Sem1 Let me respectfully disagree with your opinion on the matter. First of all, there is not a single definition of "genius". The couple of famous pianists that you mentioned (there are so SO many more e.g. Michelangeli, Arrau, Pollini, Zimmermann.........) are but a drop in the ocean of geniuses that excel in a particular thing. The term "musical genius" for me stands for the broad family of composers, any instrument interpreters (not just piano) etc. Last but not least, since Music is an art, thus not objective like Science, the definition of what is genius and what isn't becomes also extremely personal and subjective. If you don't think this person is a musical genius, that's just fine: neither you nor me have the final truth over this statement. I can simply express appreciation for what I think is a truly exceptional musician (not just pianist).
@@giacomoguarnieri2461 Dear Mr. Guarnieri, you see, that is precisely the problem when the deeper meaning of some even more important words is lost to a large extent due to a culturally not always conducive time in which we live, in which mediocrity, among other things, is suddenly simply elevated to something special. Unfortunately, this has long since become commonplace, which is why many people think they can interpret the word genius subjectively, for example, but it simply doesn't get to the heart of the matter. Just as blue does not become purple, pink does not become red, or even a handbag does not become a wardrobe, haha. Art, too, has to have a certain set of tools in order to be called art. Dear @@Che.Sem1 , you just wrote that in your previous message you gave the "foremost accepted definition" of the word "genius" but I don't find factual correspondence of such claim. Love how you balance and put down sentences delicately and how tight the rythm and tempo is. Thanks a lot for sharing this.
