This reminds me of my two siblings (brother and sister) I love this song. So many happy memories of them. They passed away two years ago three months apart from each other. They were very close and I miss them so much 😢 thanks for sharing.
This was one of the first songs that my late husband and I sang together. Neither of us could sing, and we totally murdered it. So glad no one else could hear us
I left college in 1968 and this was one of my favourite songs. It's been nearly 60 years since I heard this song again. Wayne Newton had a unique voice. Thank you so much for reigniting some wonderful memories. I do however, still have a problem with the lyrics. There are parts of the song where I just cannot get the words correctly. Does anyone have the lyrics please. Thanks again
Bobby and laurie were the original singers and several others have had "a go" at it but my favourite version is by wayne newton evokes memories of a bygone era
First heard this in the early 19 70s while in high school , been looking for a record for sometimes , found this about 7years ago. Best version of this song.
Omg!!!! I have looked for this all over the place Limewire record shops...this version was a favourite at our fantastic parties great singalong and great harmonising loved it....And no i have found.. sad thing is many of my old skool friends havent heard of it...strange i say ...can start singing it at parties again ..
Wayne has one the smoothest voices ever. This one brings back great memories from the 60s for me. If only the artists today had the same talent. Loved listening to it again--thanks for posting it.
Just my opinion but Wayne at this early age sounds like a young k. d. Lang. I would love to hear her sing this song. I heard this version when I was a teenager and remembered it all these years and I am now 72.
First heard this song on a radio station in the Caribbean, Barbados to be exact, Q100.7 FM they play lot of country and Western. For weeks I stalked the radio station getting the correct words, made many mistake until the fall of 2018, one of the most beautiful piece of music ever written.
I never knew Newton recorded this song. I've always enjoyed Engelbert Humperdinck's version (also on RUclips) but never heard this before. A groovy rendition!
nuwayin1 - Sounds like you really had some good parties - I can remember when my paternal grandmother was alive, my relatives used to have some great singalongs as well - miss those days and wish they were here again.....
Lyrics: Through the eyes of love - Wayne Newton This heart of mine belongs to you, take care of it, be kind, for I must go where you may lead, the eyes of love are blind. I may not see the things that I should see, the danger there might be in store, and I may do just what I shouldn't do, because I'm looking through the eyes of love. My love is blind. It’s true I know that eyes of love might dim the view for me, but eyes of love can see so much that other eyes don't see. A bluer sky, the sparkle in your eyes,
all make me realize, I'm yours. I've seen with you a world of dreams come true, because I'm looking through the eyes of love. Don’t let me down.
I loved this song too, but my favorite singers were Bobby and Laurie. Laurie has died. I had a 45 record that I wore out playing over and over. They put so much feeling into the song. "Through the Eyes Of Love"... Please listen to Bobbie and Laurie...
@robjune14 Listen to this version! Lil humility goes a long way...guess that's a bygone thing too, as jennyt said, along with lyrics one can understand, turning signals, and just polite, tasteful people. anywho...thx for posting for the rest of us! some hear this for the first time :) danke schoen ;)
@TheThngThatSlhdN0tBe If you've got the 45 and play it occasionally, I would encourage you to add the lyrics, please? I have always loved this song/tune but couldn't remember the name of the singer since I was only 12 when it came out. Great tune and it's sung at a pace where the words can be easily understood not like the fast tempo of songs that you hear today and the boring repetition!
This was one of my dad's favourite songs I remember this was the first record he put on when his record player was repaired❤miss him so much😢

Lyrics: Through the eyes of love - Wayne Newton
This heart of mine belongs to you,
take care of it, be kind,

the eyes of love are blind.
I may not see the things that I should see,
the danger there might be in store,
and I may do just what I shouldn't do,
because I'm looking through the eyes of love.
My love is blind.
It’s true I know that eyes of love might dim the view for me,
but eyes of love can see so much that other eyes don't see.
A bluer sky, the sparkle in your eyes,
all make me realize, I'm yours.
I've seen with you a world of dreams come true,
because I'm looking through the eyes of love.
Don’t let me down.

Wayne newton s the original singer of this song
Ho sings the original version
I don't know how old he was here but he sounds like a kid singing. I know he has a high voice but I prefer Humperdinck's version.
Listen to Bobby & Laurie's version! Much better.
