When I worked as a chauffeur, I had Wayne Newton for a couple of days . I picked up him along with his wife and daughter and some family members in a SUV . He chose to ride up front with me and was very nice. After a show at Lindenwood University, I told him that it was a great performance and that if he kept it up he might have a future in show business. He and the others had a good laugh . It was fun and I must say I've never seen hair that black before. Good times.
I met him once in person, through a friend, after one of his incredible, transcendent shows at the Sands. Being in the audience, in the moment, made me extra happy to be alive to witness his energy and star power. When he talks to you, you have his complete attention, and his follow-up questions are spot on. It was unbelievable. He was a total gentleman. I wish him and his lovely wife well, and thank him for his electrifying shows that, surely, are in a league of their own.

So true, especially people in the entertainment/music industry. Wayne Newton is a legend, I agree with you. He's also a good guy, and I doubt he's ever going to struggle. He's loved, he won't go homeless or hungry, that's for sure! 🌹🌹
Yeah but I believe he was undiagnosed dyslexic and/or illiterate, and didn't have much schooling, and seemed ashamed for it and kept it close to his vest, but other than him being too close to the Mob, ol' Wayne is alright. 👍❤👏🏻🍻💯

@@FactsVerse Red Roses for a Blue Lady will always be a favorite. I watched Wayne Newton sing that song in an episode of Bonanza when I was a little kid. My mom couldn't get enough of his singing. She loved him!
He probably always has considerable sums of money coming in, and of course he spends it on his lifestyle, and it’s never enough to get ahead of his debts. He really will be broke the day he can no longer perform.
I understand people do take care of other people's finances however with all his money I'm sure he could have hired somebody that was reputable and someone that he could trust I'm sure there's a lot of snakes out there but I do believe he could found someone he could trust he certainly can't be unhappy about his success in he has had such a remarkable career and money-wise heavens nobody has that kind of money except for the upper echelon
After my husband died my friends took me to Vegas cause Robert. Didn't get to . I went to his show I was upset. One of his people told me stand right here .He took my hand I got u a better seat he sit me right in front of Wayne Newton he sang to me and kissed 💋 me six times and he gave me his guitar pick .I never forget that and his brother Jerry were so sweet . I have seen Mr Newtons shows at least 4 times. I will never forget seeing him at Branson on my 60th birthday. We could not find the theater but show was held up at least 30 minutes so did not miss a thing. How happy to find out we weren’t late. I have been a fan since seeing him on Ed Sullivan and said; THERE IS A STAR WAITING TO HAPPEN. Never fails to entertain. Love you Wayne.❤❤
The plastic surgery is definitely frightening… through it all it doesn’t seem like he was a bad person. I suppose it reenforces how important it is to have trusted advisors. Thank you again for another insightful overview of a well known personality.
I went to see him in the 80's in Las Vegas. He really put on a good show. It was one of the best I ever saw in Las Vegas. Also remember the warm up act was a comedian who also did the voice of Tony the Tiger.
I don’t call having over $100 million broke your video is disgraceful talk about decades ago I worked for him only part that was up to date was about his back and covid and Caesars Palace I’m not sticking up for him trust me but he he isn’t broke he’s finally enjoying life going to shows hockey games etc wit his wife family
@@JaredBlack7 , I have to say, Mr. Newton has worked his entire life, he's earned it, he should enjoy traveling, going to shows and enjoying life with his family.
No, we ALL can't relate. I can't afford lavish trips, traveling the globe, buying whatever it is that my whims dictate. When other people do that and refuse to pay the piper, I call that person a DEADBEAT!
I've been a big fan of Wayne's since I was a little kid. Have seen him live several times. He ALWAYS puts on a great show. Whatever is going on in his personal life he doesn't let it affect his shows.
More frightening than his poor financial situation is the hideous series of bad plastic surgery over the years. I understand his reasons, but the end result is never good. Growing old gracefully is surely a better option. Having said that, he's a wonderful performer, one of the best.
It might be more than that. The puffiness of his face might indicate that he has a chronic condition that requires some steroid like Prednisone. Jerry Lewis went through a tough time with that.
Ohhh I thought you were going to say you know because you're in your 60's or 70's now and that you've been around the world a time or ✌ two, peace out, my friend.❤👍❤🇺🇸🙏🏻☝🏻
Wayne Newton is part of our historical legacy. God bless him. Mob ties? SO WHAT!! That was the time that's also our legacy, and I appreciate that for what it was.
I went to school with Wayne, he was always a nice person, no mob , he was his self always. Good shows, and could play Great, I will always remember him as a friend...
Around 1964 I was a bass player with Don Corey and the Montereys. We were booked in the lounge at the original famous Copa Cabana in NY City. He was on tour at the time and the Copa was one of his major performance clubs. He, of course, was a young boy.His voice and tonal pitch were amazing. We shared the same dressing room at the Copa and it was truly an honor. I hope he gets to read this just to see if he remembers this incredible occasion.
I love Wayne Newton. He is and will always be Mr. Las Vegas. I've loved him ever since I was very young and I will always love him. He's a sweet good singing man.
Never met Wayne, but what a showman and fantastic talent, such a great singer! Don't care about his financial issues, he has been loved by my family for over 60 years!!
I used to live down the street from wayne. He did love his horses, and was known as the most generous entertainer on the strip. As for the mob, as long as he made his home in vegas who didn't have ties to the mob.
Oh, how I loved Wayne Newton...so talented with all the musical instruments he plays so well. I saw him in Vegas in the '80's and what a showman. I remember him singing Danke Schoen. Such a nice little song. Sorry to hear he's broke. Makes me feel better about losing my money a few decades ago. It's a rough road getting back up.
money comes and goes so what's the big deal ? I remember Wayne back when he started singing and I will never forget it as he is a likeable man and I'm not interested in the gossip. am glad our world still has him 🥰
Wayne Newton generously bailed actress Dana Plato out of jail when she robbed a Las Vegas video store in 1991. Dana Plato starred in the TV show, diff'rent strokes. From Ms. Harper Stacey.
Like Elvis, he has a big heart and freely gives people charity but is his own worse enemy financially. His show and the Siegfried and Roy were the two must see Acts in Vegas for years. I wish Newton the best! He’s led an incredible life.
The first time, I saw Wayne Newton. Was on I LOVE LUCY SHOW. Many moons ago. He was that new fresh smile kid. My husband like him right away. He sang beautifully. I am a 79yrs old lady from Canada 🇨🇦 ❤ WAYNE WISHING YOU THE BEST❤ IF U ARE HEALTHY KEEP SINGING ❤
I remember him standing up to Johnny Carson, who was making him the butt of his jokes ! Wayne said in an interview that he barged into his office, and demanded to know " what child of yours have I killed " , that he should be humiliated about his " masculinity or lack of it in his mind " ! He said Johnny's response was, " well you know, Wayne, that they write these jokes for me, I' m not responsible ".......I would love to hear this interview again, maybe it's on You Tube
I'm at Wayne Newton in 1981 in Minneapolis Minnesota airport called page Airways FBO base were all private jets land I used to be a fuel to there. When his aircraft landed I was able to approach him and tell him we have something in common we have our same birthday April 3rd his birthday is April 3rd 1942 my birthday is April 3rd 1958 11/ 6/2024 we've been exchanging texts through WhatsApp he reached out to his fans and I told him my story and he remembers me I took a picture of myself send it to him we have a very down-to-earth like family connection this guy is really taught me more about life and what he went through but the key thing how his parents got him into the show business and stayed by his side. But making more money than the Beatles and Elvis that is incredible. So you know he's going to be under attack about from all angles. Anyway the man is a Super Soul there's nobody like him even his wife says I have never met a man so humble is this guy for what he has gone through. And I agree with her
I thought the very same when first watching this. He don't look naturally like himself in his face at all. I remember when we started seeing him on black and white tv in the early 60's and through the continuing years. I did not know he had went broke and owed billions. Wow! 😲
Many years ago we were in a restaurant and Wayne Newton and entourage came in. Two young girls approached the table and asked for autographs, he not only signed for them but was so gracious he got up to take photos with them, very impressive
@@FactsVerse ~ If I may add my 2 cents here - Sammy Davis Jr. and Wayne Newton are tied for the hardest working and most talented cabaret-style entertainers ever.
I’ve watched Wayne since the beginning of his career….he’s my age! He was this young innocent, and sad that he didn’t seek financial advice early on. I only wish him well! ❤❤❤❤❤
My husband and I saw Wayne Newton and Jack Benny in Lake Tahoe in 1962. We were on our honeymoon. I still remember that experience as if it were yesterday - Wayne has always been a favorite and I’ve followed his career/life for nearly 60 years! 💕
We're very happy to know that you had a chance to meet Wayne and Jack! Thank you so much for sharing your life story. Which of Wayne's songs appealed to you the most?
I knew him a little bit when I was a performer in Las Vegas. I love the guy! He was always nothing but nice to me. My bass player, Danny DeMorales was also Wayne Newton's bass player, and I would tell jokes in the lounges and showrooms where I was working and couldn't figure out why, when I went to see Wayne's show at the Hilton, I think it was, Wayne was telling my jokes!!!! Turns out Danny would go over there after doing an early show with me and spread those jokes around backstage and Wayne would pick up on them. Haha. I don't care. You can't copyright a joke! I've stolen plenty myself! Wayne was an incredible singer with a voice of silk and satin. And how he loves his audiences! What a performer. One of the best. One of the very best that every lived!
Absolutely, we feel the same way! Thank you for sharing your sentiments and for watching our content. What other types of video would you like to see on our channel?
In the 1960's adults just loved Wayne Newton, he was just a wholsome happy polite young American who loved people. The truth is that his most ardent fans are too elderly now to go see him and support his talent or they have passed away. This is a lesson for all of us to accept our years and maybe trim our expenditures as we earn less. I wish everything wonderful for Wayne, he deserves a couple of good friends to help him straighten the details out so he can live without stress. Prayers for you Wayne.
I remember seeing Wayne Newton stand up to the mob on a news broadcast. It was decades ago. He publicly announced that the mob had threatened to put a hit on him if he opened his own place. He didn't get whacked, so I guess it was a good strategy at the time. My mom loved him, I think he's ok too.
@@FactsVerse you should do something on Stephen King stories/books that became hit movies. There are a lot more than people realize. Hollywood owes him some type of "Lifetime Achievement Award'. Most people don't even know he wrote Shawshank Redemption.
I really like this guy He's a great performer and I hear he's a gentleman God bless him and I hope everything works out especially at his age he should be relaxing on the beach somewhere He's done a lot and I do like him great singer
That's a very interesting video about Wayne Newton and it's unfortunate that he had some many financial setbacks but you have to remember it's him the public keeps coming back to see!
I'm Eighty-Four and have watched Wayne's career progress since the early sixties on Arthur Godfrey show. He is an amazing singer and performer. We all have troubles throughout our life and Wayne has had his share. Glad he has a happy marriage and two daughters. Wow 60 years and Counting of his career. Shame you cannot trust a lot of people!
Wayne is an absolute icon in music and as crazy as it sounds, when I met my husband, he was a good likeness to Wayne. I met my husband when I was 17 and after 5 months and 2 weeks of dating we were married until he passed away after our 51st anniversary. One thing I saw in him was how much he looked like Wayne Newton at the time. We were always together and we never got tired of making great memories together. The memories we made are what I live on he was and still is the love of my life !! After my husband had 2 full strokes and a partial stroke, it was like he had programmed himself to tell me how much he loved me. Since he passed away, I can still hear him telling me he loves me. It's kinda wild but the day I met him and remarked about him looking so much like Wayne Newton that still today my mind goes to the likeness. Just as Wayne is one of a kind, so too is the husband that I married!! From the day my husband came into my life he was all I wanted or needed, and, there is no need to look for another !! When you have had the closest thing to a perfect husband as I had, it's not even in me to settle for second best !! I'm happy to know Wayne is happily married to his wife, and, I'm sure he will know just what I'm saying, my wish for him is the happiness he so richly deserves !!❤
Seen him in concert many years ago in St. Louis. Wonderful show. My mom, daughter, brother and I loved him. The effects were great and so was his singing. Never knew about the Mafia but so was Frank Sinatra. Not everyone is good with money or chores the right person to handle it. Elvis had the greedy Colonel handle his. Look at that mess. Keep up the singing Wayne. Money pays the bills but can't buy you happiness.❤️❤️❤️
Wayne Newton is a famous Pop Singer, born on April 3, 1942 in United States. As of January 9, 2023, Wayne Newton’s net worth is $50 Million. He has been nicknamed Mr. Las Vegas.
My husband and I lived in Las Vegas for 40 yrs from 78 - 2018. Then we moved to Mesquite, NV about 82 miles away. We never met or saw Waynes show, but my husband worked with Waynes brother Jerry. I loved Jerry and his wife Gerry they were special ppl. They are both gone now I wish we could have said goodbye, they both passed away. We lost contact when Jerry retired. I do have to say you were very respectful in talking about Wayne and I believe you got it all correct. And I've never really heard anyone speak anything bad about Wayne. And Mr Las Vegas is still Performing 👍🎶 Who knows maybe if we still had LIVE Music my husband may have played in one of his shows. My husband played French Horn and was in the Marine Band. It was very sad when Las Vegas went to canned music. But he did get to play in one of Ronnie Misaps shows, those were the days.
I saw him in San Francisco at the Venetian Room when he was just beginning. He worked with his brother, Jerry, then. We were friends with the orchestra leader there and he said "you've got to come see this kid, he is a fabulous entertainer. He was really a nice young man. I saw his show several times over the years and his show was always fabulous. He was breeding Arabians and showed his stallions at the Arabian Horse Fair that used to come to Reno. He had to sell his property and at one point was allowed to lease it back. Not sure where that stands today. Not sure if he still has any of his horses. I'm glad I saw him before he had all the work done on his face. I wish he hadn't done that.
I loved Wayne when he first started in the sixties. Didn’t follow him much after that. I didn’t know about all of his poor financial decisions, or lack there of. He’s not Liberace, with his talent and appeal, or someone who would appeal to a very wide audience. It seems like he did bit off more than he can chew. I’m not surprised about the mafia part, seems like that’s what much of Vegas is. I bet he misses many of the early Vegas people. Not many left, if any. Thanks for showing this. I loved his early hits.

@@FactsVerse Red Roses for a Blue Lady will always be a favorite. I watched Wayne Newton sing that song in an episode of Bonanza when I was a little kid. My mom couldn't get enough of his singing. She loved him!
For someone who is totally broke, he seems to live a pretty good life.
He probably always has considerable sums of money coming in, and of course he spends it on his lifestyle, and it’s never enough to get ahead of his debts. He really will be broke the day he can no longer perform.
We absolutely agree! Thank you so much for sharing your thoughts. Be safe and have a great day!
...I would love tobe broke..like he is......am sure I'll be very happy...
Wayne Newton made a million dollars a month I do not feel sorry for this man simply because it's stupid and it's greedy
I've seen him twice in Vegas. One when I was on my honeymoon in July 1980 and then again in '84. Fantastic performer!!
I wish Wayne Newton all the best.

The fact that he lived through those mob ties gives Danke Schoen a whole new meaning.
Frank Sinatra also lived through mob ties, too. From Ms. Harper Stacey.
@@harperstacey9604 Sinatra went through an investigation and governmental hearing prior to acquiring part ownership in a Las Vegas hotel, and he cleared himself up pretty good, claiming he has met some mob members briefly but was never business or socially tied with them.

This guy lived an amazing life
I have seen Mr Newtons shows at least 4 times.
I loved Wayne when he was very young and on I love Lucy! He sang like an angel
I hope he is happy just like we all wanna be.
He’s still considered Mr. Las Vegas, Best of Luck to him.

@@JaredBlack7 ,
I have to say, Mr. Newton has worked his entire life, he's earned it, he should enjoy traveling, going to shows and enjoying life with his family.
All I can say is, "Bless His Heart".
One of the kindest, nicest gentlemen out there 😢 I'm sorry if he's had or has financial problems we all can relate
No, we ALL can't relate. I can't afford lavish trips, traveling the globe, buying whatever it is that my whims dictate. When other people do that and refuse to pay the piper, I call that person a DEADBEAT!
The Real Mob is the Jewish banking Mob, not Wayne's friends LOL
So you think we should all looks like old wrinkled prunes ? I say go for a little nip and tuck. Get rid of sags and bags.

Wish every human being could be as good a person as Mr Newton
I was at his house in the early 80’s when he was doing well. Vegas has been struggling but now seams back stronger

And I agree with her
Wayne's tragedy is what he has done with his face.

I thought the very same when first watching this. He don't look naturally like himself in his face at all. I remember when we started seeing him on black and white tv in the early 60's and through the continuing years. I did not know he had went broke and owed billions. Wow! 😲

So unfortunate about his financial situation. He’s a wonderful entertainer.

Who knows maybe if we still had LIVE Music my husband may have played in one of his shows.

He’s a great guy, so it doesn’t matter. Everybody experience financial difficulties at least once in their life.
Thank you so much for your message to Wayne. We do hope that he will be able to recover and come back stronger from his financial problem.
