You are talking about THE SPECULATIVE MARKET. The C8 prices are SET by GM, and have not changed other than model year prices. The SPECULATIVE market or markup, reseller market ISNT a real car market AT ALL. The demand for the Stingray HAS GONE UP, with the upcoming European sales market on the horizon. GM DOES NOT CONSIDER THE SPECULATIVE MARKET RELEVANT FOR ITS SALES PROJECTIONS, with the C8 being considered A HIGH VOLUME CAR. GM has yet to meet its projected production numbers FOR ANY MODEL YEAR YET. GM would like to see as many C8s in customers hands AS POSSIBLE. GM HAS IMPOSED PENALTIES ON DEALERS NOT WILLING TO SELL THE C8 AT MSRP. The penalties are harsh and will exclude those dealers from future variants in the C8 lineup.
@@ericwashington9550 As more C8s are produced, GM will penalize ALL dealers that dont move cars at MSRP. It literally hurts the manufacturer in the long run because oversticker is a LIMITED pool of buyers. The C8 is not a small volume car, and needs to be in buyers hands asap. The manufacturer SETS THE PRICE by VOLUME. SPORTSCARS are a LOW VOLUME crowd to begin with, and jeopardizing future sales is suicide for any company not in the specialty car manufacturing club.
There are many dealers which will not sell over MSRP. What's happening is that you're trading "money for time". If you're willing to wait approximately 8+ months, you can get a C8 for MSRP. If not, then you'll have to pay $10k+ extra for the car. It's as simple as that. I am waiting for delivery of my C8 this week (Paying MSRP for the car). Hi, I will like to see it for a Mustang Mach 1
We will have a crash in all markets.
Short answer... no. Not with the chip shortage. You're welcome.
The only way a person can make back the 30-40k over invoice is lock the car in a climate controlled enviroment for 50 years.I would pay 5k more but that is it.If i had an extra 40k I would buy gold or silver. It is a great car but not worth that much. There are only a very small amount of people that will buy a Z06 or ZR1.And they are old and afraid to drive them .So those are the vets that will hold there value.
I agree with you at 30 or 40k. But those paying 10k over will turn a profit. We paid 11k over I'll let you know what we sell this one for.
I would like to see a market analysis on the Porsche GT2RS
The Z06 changes everything...the regular c8...meh.
Will used Lamborghini market crash?
Just a fact the 100,000 corvette in six years will be 25,000 PERIOD:) Just like Mercedes and BMW!
Not a chance. 15 year old ZO6’s with 100k on them are still $30k +. In 6 years? The C8 will in no way be $25k. Neither will the C7Z.
@@lukemagers1
Agree. Maybe 40k range depending on a lot of factors.
C8 prices are simple: no supply + anemic demand = sky high prices.
I would take the car for $0
With convertible n everything
the market is going nowhere buddy. its only getting worse. will be 20-30k over sticker till easily 25 or laterp
Only a certain amount of Corvettes are fixed prices by GM. The dealer has the choice of the remaining allotments to set their price.
@@ericwashington9550 Thats not what GM says.
@@thiosemicarbizidebenzoylal2921 know you just don't listen to the whole conversation man. One paragraph is not the whole article 🤣
@@thiosemicarbizidebenzoylal2921 all cars will not be at MSRP PRICES. Certain amounts will sell than the rest will to be sold for whatever price.
but only in U.S..
first year model with every single options will worth alot in 50-60 years
Isnt it cheaper to buy new then lol?
It's very hard buying a car like this new without the dealership markup or even getting an allocation at MSRP.
No. Cause msrp isnt the actual price.
My dealer had an allocation and I took advantage of it.
@@ProdicalMan it’s not hard at all. MacMulkin will sell you a car at MSRP. It just requires a great deal of patience.
@@lavla21 when you say your dealer had an allocation , what do you mean ? Do you walk in and order one and he says will take X months or you walk in and he said that one was coming in 2 months and you Bouy it ??
This guy has a thick European accent. May have bias against Corvettes.
Im not biased against Corvettes or any car which features on the channel.
It's embarrassing that a car this ugly is this popular.
