Girolamo Frescobaldi - Toccata Prima (Libro Primo)

Over the past few years I have kept coming back to this Frescobaldi piece, and each time I find new things to do with color and timing. The early Italian Baroque has an improvisatory freshness and ornamental flourish which connects me with my ancestry. The music vibrates, and I’m looking forward to recording it again on Dan Trueman 's BitKlavier in the tuning of Frescobaldi’s time.
