I loved the comparison with Ferraris and F1 cars. That's exactly the philosophy behind that frame. Definitely not for beginners who crash all the time ( Finz has also the V1 version that is more durable, perfect for beginners who want to get a taste of the ''skill boost'' ) Swapping arms is a pain initially but when you get used to it, you can repair the entire frame in 10 minutes.
The biggest advantage, in my opinion, is the footprint. Even if ur not the fastest, having a frame smaller than the others makes you to turn faster. And there you gain time
I love how eloquently and proficiently you describe all of the systems. Very entertaining I love the clips with Bruce Willis and the video footage was awesome. Excellent excellent video.
Thank you Jon E5! I love the Fox Crooked but it just too fragile for me! This year I was running the Five33 LS V2 with the updated arms and man is that a durable light and stiff quad. But next year I'll be trying out the DinDrones OZR-5X with the POD baby!! You got that right! Pod racing! Cheers bro!
lol, pod racing! I'm actually testing the LS v2 ultra today. See how that thing does. I do love a good pod though, so far got a pair of those OZR and havnet managed to break a pod yet. Lets go pod racing!
man i love my cube. maybe thats why i like this thing so much. I kept both of my cubes (229, and 339), when i almost never keep old quads. so ahead of their time.
Great flying frame! I agree with your conclusion. I built a few and broke them all at a GQ, lol. Not sure I'm ready to full commit, but it certainly has advantages.
@@JonE5FPV absolutely. I'm in sport class but this thing flies like it is on rail compared to my previous frame. there is a LOT of extra noise in the pid loop to filter out because of the overlapping blades, and I need to get the tune from hyper because I was incapable of getting rid of the propwash. it was a huge change, I was on a 4s floss lite and starting to push that quads limits; now I feel like I'm barely holding on to the back of a rocket, with miles of room for improvement.
With zippyQ at racing events, you'll be sitting around for most of the day after having to do any field repair. Might as well go home if you have to fix that frame.
@@PaoloPonzoFinz true, the blades don't care if they hit each other. but it is easy to get the props on the two lowered arms to impact the frame and stop the motor. I personally don't try to get up if crash, but I don't have anything on the line when I race.
i dont fly IRL but on sim i prefer fly the Singularitum V5 cause i feel more smooth and consistent. but some drones are better for tracks with long straight lines with not a lot of tech parts, and some are better for tech parts but more wierd for long turns, straight lines parts
To bad it broke appart on impact. My SniperX took several beatings and high drops on hard surfaces. The FC is wacked, but the frame is still going. This frame seems like a hassle to repair. Seems like you'd need several builds all the time.
once you get used to it it is easy to work on, and honestly the structure as a whole is really sturdy, but if you hit it at the wrong angle or barrel it into gate pipes, it can also easily break struts and arms. the only really negative thing I can say about durability is: because the blades are so close together and to the frame, if you bend a prop you are probably done. but personally I'm sport class, I generally disarm when I hit stuff because I'm not super competitive.
It doesnt happen that much though When they are so bent that you cant fly you wouldnt fly on regular frames either When they barely touches nothing happens really.. I've seen a final on the italian championship when a pilot had a crash and bent the prop but coul finish (and win) anyway
the only real issue is the two "lower" arms, its easy for those two props to bend down and catch the frame. really it doesn't matter, because it performs crash flip mode terribly, and once you are down you are probably going to stay there.
The all blue color choice is clean
thank you! If i couldnt get ahold of those hyper motors had to go with the clean 533 look

2mm? Ah damn, Ima break that first day 😆
i was 'not sure' about those 2mm arms at first, but the stiffness helps. Survives average hits, just not full senders
the structure as a whole is pretty strong, it takes a lot of hits that I wouldn't expect it to.
@@greedfox7842 ok send me one and I'll give it the 10 pack test, then send back whatever remains 😆

Great video! When I tried the Crooked the first time I had the same impressions
It almost feels like you have different rates
its very nice, i cant wait to get mine back in the air. so locked in.
I run really high rates, this quad is the only one that feels like it turns like my rates ask it to.
(actual: 200 1000 0.51 on all )
The best frame for racing! 🔥🚀
I got 236 grams with a Five33 ludicrous Drone.
with props? (Or without?) Thats a pretty impressive number either way.
Man that thing breaks my brain like an Escher drawing but the proof is in the times and the feeling you got too. Seems like a real level up
really cool video! great work as always!
Thank you! Cheers!
Gonna pull the trigger on that frame for sure! Been thinking about it for a couple months, I'm glad you made a video on it.
I would get one just because it's weird and I like that. But if everything sold out that's a moot point.
Fantastic flying and review, Jon! 😃
Pretty interesting looking frame indeed!
Stay safe there with your family! 🖖😊
Thanks, you too! MC!

Innovative!!!! Great work folks.
Reminds me of the Diatone cube. I think they started the cube frame.

Does anyone have the stl for the canopy
i believe once you create an account, and buy a frame you get access to download from their site.
You are right, Crooked with Hyper motors it's insane xD
Great flying frame! I agree with your conclusion. I built a few and broke them all at a GQ, lol. Not sure I'm ready to full commit, but it certainly has advantages.
SEFPV got knocked off, but this new design definitely has major improvements. Nice frame.
Yeah for sure
now Is out the crucifox, take a look because It Is Crazy!
There Is a lot of contents in this frame. Not for all. For sure the fastest.
I just bought 3 LightSwitches Ultra, but I'm a shit pilot so there would be no difference in times
lightswitch ultra is a great frame too, they are all over the leaderboards on multi-GP.
I'm a Little bias but I love my fox crooked. :3
lol, i bet when that frame came out you had to have it.

awesome
thanks morning view!
Great video as always.. Is this track in Texas?
Thank you. The outdoor one with the trees yes. Our new field that we share with a large group of plane guys. Sparks RC near Houston.

Nice video! Would love to try the frame! However, what about bent prop when overlapping after crash? How does the copter behave
Just making noise of propeller touching eachother, for the rest like normal quads with bent props :)

I should try one 🤔
not sure, how you haven't
@@JonE5FPV El-middero had one earlier this year and I kinda forgot about wanting to get one back then actually 🤷
For now I'm sticking with the Kronos.
I have 3 cubes. Best bnf ever for the money.
Watching this while fixing my fox crookeds 😂
LOL, dang, How long did it take you per quad?
@@JonE5FPV it depends because it was electronic stuff but probably like 1 hour
damn thats smart
I re soldered a motor wire to the base of an 0702 motor, still flying it xD

The same with switchbackultra and they gave it so much shit for durability ❤
I really want to try a 533 ludicrous race frame, I just am not willing to buy one. :l
Bending the prop would suck tho, I mean if I would crash, like ever…

Interesting!
