Electrical industry professionals showcase exactly why a career in electrical construction field is a great option for someone contemplating their future.
0.28 says it all....Electricians are in high demand because it isn't necessarily the best career. I've been an electrician for 20+ years anyone considering being an electrician PLEASE read the truth....It is not a high paying job if you are trying to live a life as a husband/father with normal house hold bills, you will require a second income. Expect to work overtime or prevailing wage to make good money. Overtime means time away from family. I missed alot of time with family because i was trying to provide for them. Then when you do get home you are too tired to really fully enjoy family and all you think about is i better get to bed so I can get to work on time and work all day again. There are worst jobs then an electrician but a lot more better ones. First and foremost figure out the bills you have and the bills you may acquire and research the pay for an electrician in your area. Everyone who is not an electrician assumes they get paid a lot. First and foremost find an electrician and talk to them. Please research what you plan to do for 40-50+ years
That’s what I’m doing now. I’ll be 35 this year, married with 2 kids. I’ve been checking the trade out because I know there will be a pay cut, but I’m looking into it because I’m hoping it may be a good career.
@@jmoosic Yes, she does. She only makes 15/hr or so (doctors office), but is thinking of getting medical assistant certification. Maybe even change jobs.
@@jmoosic From what I’m seeing, apprentices make around $15/hr (DFW area), although I’ve heard of guys making much better. I’d also be worried about slow times and no work. Just trying to do a lot of research to make sure it’s feasible for me.
Hello sir, I am from Kaboo Afghanistan I am Electrical man 20 years I working in the electrical jobs in my city I want the visa to working in the America can you help me sir
Im going into my sophomore year in HS so I could be wrong on this. I would think probably not because of how much places are growing. Just because some things are wireless I would still assume lots of wiring would be required, not everything can be wireless
Until buildings move away from AC or DC power I highly doubt it. Networking for sure will change but high voltage and data cable is not going away anytime soon. J-man Electrician 8 years in the trade.
Wireless connections are for transferring data, not energy. The only way to get rid of wiring in buildings would be to make every electric machine run on battery, get struck by lightning, or continually generate their own power. I think it will be possible to do something similar by converting thermal energy into mechanical, but we are not near that being possible or economical.
Hello, just one question I am planning to attain a degree on electrical technology by attending community college, my question is that after I have my certificate or diploma can I start working right after and be an apprentice on the job ? Or do I have to go through an apprenticeship program with additional courses and stuff to complete that requirement?
Dude. Turn around and go to school. Be an electrical engineer. I'm nearly done with school and just realized being an electrician sucks. Fuck it. Turn around

It's a good trade but there is no security, a lot of times you have to work out of your area and winter work isn't has busy has summer months.

2:20 "5200 amps of power" amps is not power lol. I cringe at that cause of my background in electrical engineering
Did they mean volts are or the flow of power?
What he means is power is measured in Watts. Amps is the units for current.
Amps is current! Power = W or Va
Maybe he ment Volt-Amps?? VA? Lol
