Waddle was still class then.......Wolves should have gone up that season, cheated out of it by Bolton.....always struggled against them. Still, a great win against a Wednesday side that had a lot of good players....
Watch that brings it all back. When I got back to the pub later there were a couple of glum faced Wolves fans who had dashed out at 2-0 down to escape the traffic thinking that all was lost. They were well pissed off at what they missed when we walked in singing, dancing and laughing about Twaddle.
25:40 That really was an awful penalty. Can anyone remember what his one in the first game was like? 26:49 To be fair, Pearce had already missed and 78 year-old Peter Shilton wouldn't have saved a penalty that night if each German player had taken ten each! So although it was Waddle's miss which brought the game to an end, the damage had already been done and England still would've lost if he'd scored.
I've been to wolves ground a few times was here watching this.It was a shit hole back then can remember one stand was closed and getting knocked down. The away end then was behind the goal next to home fans. The other stand which is now away end seemed miles from the pitch.I do like molinuex now though lovely stadium.
paul jones was awesome switching back to mike stowell for the arsenal game was a mistake. no disrespect to mike wolves legend but paul was at the best i have ever seen him play that season
if you could also get te 2 leed games following this plus the arsenal game i would love you. My dad was on match of the day when we drew against leeds. they picked him out specifically even in that you can only see my left hand
sorry that was in match of the day when you can see my dad. instead of the end credits where they normally show the goals that week they decided to just show my dad (and my left hand)
I was there that night and what a night. Waddle never had a prayer with the pen, the video does not do it justice, the din as he made the long walk to the spot was deafening. Those sloaping shoulders seemed to fall further with every step. Deserved every cat-call though for rubbishing the town in the press before the game.
One of THE greatest nights in Wolves history. Graham Taylor too, great man. 🧡🧡🧡
That night will live long in my memory. What an atmosphere, what a game and what a result. Absolutely brill.
Molineux was electric that night, Immense!
I have never seen a less saveable penalty than Pressman's.
I was there and I can honestly say I have not only never seen a shot struck harder, but also more accurately. It had both. Incredible penalty!
It is the best Penalty ever taken.
First time I've seen that shootout since the night it happened. Amazing drama!
This was a memorable game even though Wednesday lost. Waddle missing penalty again. But pressman the keeper scoring the best penalty ever taken!
I only heard about this match from the Football Weekly podcast.
The liquidator was lou
d and passionate that night, please re-introduce it at molineux!

John McGinley is still a bastard.
Tony Gubba couldn't have sounded any more thrilled about Kevin Pressman's penalty if he tried
😂😂😂😂
Waddle had been giving it the big one in the press the days before the replay if anyone is wondering why his every touch was booed
Don’t remember that. What was he saying?
i always hated the turnip. but this one was down to the players excellent work boys

Literally come here to watch the penalty shout out after Don Goodman mentioned it in the penalty shout out between forest and Sheffield united
It's my favourite pen of all time. If the keeper had gotten his hand to it the chances are he would've broken his wrist!
RIP Bartman Williams. 😢
