Your comment made me think back to Wright hitting the 140 C/O in the worlds with Noel Malicdem waiting on an easy finish to knock him out in round one..... Wright went on to win the entire thing! Amazing looking back. I think Malicdem had about 9 darts from 181 to win it and only got one dart at the bull. Sorry.... you just got me thinking of skin savers!!!!

Loved the mid 2010s era in darts. It’s a weird time right now where there’s barely a gap between the top guys and the mid range guys. Makes it fun and unpredictable.... but it somehow doesn’t seem right without the 1-2 dominant forces!! Not necessarily complaining, more adjusting!
This is true, 100% makes the winner less predictable which itself should bring more intrigue but it doesn't feel like there are any superstars right now, everyone feels even, I enjoyed the lewis mvg Taylor era more than any other I think

I think the MVG and Lewis matches were the most enjoyable to watch. Both match each other on tempo and seem to feed off each other. Those Unicorn boards back then were sooo hard. So many bounce-outs. Even when Lewis' darts stuck in the board, you could see the tail slightly droop because the point is just barely hanging in. I used to complain about that era of Unicorn boards in league play because the Winmau Blade series was such a huge improvement (softer, rarely get bounce-outs, quieter, etc..)
Team MVG but these 2 dont mess about they just get on with it but they have had some belting games over the years mainly dominated by gerwen but great to watch
Along with Barney and Gary Anderson imo watching these 5 at there very best was the best darts has probably ever been I’d add price and peter Wright to the list too 2 modern greats
