    Can I fill it through the vent hose? Mine is lifted and the cover and fill plug are facing ground?

    Is there a fill plug on the top of the rear end? Is that why we are removing the bagwell?

    I'm doing this on my 2021 EFI L fleet cart. Tried 13mm socket, seems loose, 12mm doesn't fit. Tried 1/2" doesn't fit. I can break them loose with 13mm, don't want to round them off tightening them. What size and torque should these be? Thanks
    Great videos.

    Unrelated question. I bought a used 2020 Drive 2 Fleet golf cart. It has a solid rear axle. I thought that from 2017 on, the drive 2 has an independent rear suspension. Seems like a solid axle is not an independent rear suspension. What am I missing? Thanks!

    • @PowerEquipmentMan
      @PowerEquipmentMan  4 месяца назад

      The Drive2 has been available in 3 different gas models; Quietech (independent rear suspension), AFI (solid axle), or carbureted (solid axle). So you only get the independent rear suspension with the Quietech model.
      Many golf cart resellers like to take advantage of people that don't understand that there are differences, and will sell the solid axle models for the same price as the Quietechs. On average, a solid axle cart is worth about a $1000 less than a Quietech.
      Solid axle carts aren't bad, but Quietechs are definitely better and more desirable. And before you ask, no, there is nothing you can do to convert your solid axle model into a Quietech.

    I’m not sure if this relates to this video but I have oil leaking from a line on the right side of this style of axle. What I have found this is the vent line.?. Can you do a video on what this could be and possible fixes?

    • @PowerEquipmentMan
      @PowerEquipmentMan  2 года назад

      I haven't heard of any vent tube issues with this type of axle. Make sure it has the proper amount and weight of gear oil. You can also elevate the tube, but make sure the end of the tube points down so water cant get in it.

      @@PowerEquipmentMan After looking at many pics and watching this video over and over I think it’s the transmission vent hose. At 26 seconds on this video there’s a good pic of how the hose loops back up into a hole between the shifter cables. My vent hose must of fallen out of the hole and leaked some oil on the floor while it was pointing down.

    I work on a golf course, we have 11 Umax model year 2020 model number YUM2A20, I have keep services on those differentials services properly, 3 differentials have failed so far the bearings where the clutch engage fail, I guess is lack of lubrication oil capacity and the oil plug is too low, in my opinion isn’t enough oil inside to keep it lubricated… can you tell me your experience whit these ones… in my 15 years never had this issue 😢 most are failing around 1k to 1,500 hours…

    • @PowerEquipmentMan
      @PowerEquipmentMan  Год назад

      I have never heard of these differentials failing before. It is odd that you have had that many issues with them. Has Yamaha been made aware of your issues? I'm assuming they were all replaced under warranty correct?

    • @cebollo1709
      @cebollo1709 Год назад

      @@PowerEquipmentMan no, warranty coverage ends after 2 years, we started having issues around 2 1/2 years after purchase, price on the transaxle is $1,400+, when I notice wear on the first car that failed I pull in every other car to make sure they had plenty fluid, service interval is 1,000 hours and the ones that I have remove the cover have excessive metal shavings, I’m pushing my superintendent to call Yamaha and do something

      Whelp, found out it is not Metric, it's a half inch socket. Which ended up being very fortunate after viewing your vid since someone before me hit the bottom of the cover and folded one corner. There was absolutely no oil in the diff. Our local golf course apparently sucks at maintenance.

    I have a small golf cart business, and I was wondering what kind of lift you use. Not like a lift kit, but the platform that the cart is on. What is that? I am thinking about getting one of those after seeing it in your video. Thanks!

    • @PowerEquipmentMan
      @PowerEquipmentMan  2 года назад

      I think the ATV air or hydraulic lift tables are the best way to go. They take up the least amount of space and allow you full access to all sides of the cart. When you are not working on a cart you can raise it up and use as a workbench. Just make sure you get one that is long enough and wide enough. 2 post style lifts are always in the way while working on the cart. Here is the one we use, but Handy also makes a nice one. directlift.com/product/pro-cycle-xlt/

      You refill the diff threw the rubber plug and add the specified amount of oil. You may have to jack the back of the cart up a ways to get the full amount of oil in.

  • @MCscarfacematt
    @MCscarfacematt 2 года назад

    every 3-5 years? yeah I've owned my cart for 14 years and have never done it. I've gone 630km in the last two years and wouldn't you know it i stripped all the teeth off of the forward gears. I guess diff fluid is important that was a thousand-dollar mistake. I got the gears replaced now to get that cover off and drain what's remaining of the old fluid out then refill it thinking refill from the transaxle end that way the gears are pre-lubed. since my transaxle is currently in the shop standing up on the right side wheel.
