It's Saturday, and I'm frying my husband some flounder fillets. I wasn't crazy about the Louisiana either, so maybe I just need to mix my own fish breader. Watch & Enjoy!

Cooking Oil (You can use vegetable, canola, or whatever oil you prefer.)
Flounder Fillets
2 Eggs
1/3-1-2 Mayonaise

THAT LOOKS REALLY GOOD DONNA, I HAVE TO TRY THAT WITH THE MAYO, I USUALLY USE EGGS AND I HAVE ALSO USED MUSTARD FRIED FISH. YUMMMMM. THANKS FOR SHARING
That’s my go to Louisiana mix for Fish and Chicken frying. Always crispy and golden brown.

Hey Mrs. Donna I use Louisiana too, I bump it up a little with ole bay and Cajun seasoning because it tends to be a little bland. But what I am going to do is try me some flounder. It looks soooooooo good!! ❤ y’all have a good week!!

I'd go with a milk wash and season my cornmeal and flour mix with a little season salt and black pepper that works every time for me.

This reminds me of my mom frying fish! I think she uses the spicy Zatarain's seasoning plus flour for dredging and a milk/egg mixture for dipping in between. Thank you for another wonderful video!

Hi, thank you for sharing I love the Louisiana fish fry and chicken fry. I use salt free seasonings season my fish first next the egg or wet mixture to keep seasoning on meat then use the fry breading very good. Thank you for sharing.
I use the same Fish Fry, have used the same brand for years! Sometimes it is a little salty. I don't add seasoning at all, not necessary. Your Fish looks very tasty🤗

You make it how you choose. The key is golden brown, moist not dry, and beans and rice or French fries. You are amazing.

Hi Donna. That Louisiana mix used alone is hypertension in the making. I mix mine with flour and corn meal to bring down the saltiness. Your instincts were right about mixing it.

I spread yellow mustard on my fish ,and coat them with fish fry seasoning mix. It helps to make it crispy and gives via beautiful color. 😋

I fry a lot of fish as we fish for walleye in Erie pa. I dip my fish in beaten egg and roll in unseasoned bread crumbs. Salt after frying. Also when I watched your video on potato salad if you spread your cooked potatoes on a cookie sheet to cool they cool so much faster ! Really enjoy your video’s and your husband is so entertaining ! That's some pretty fish! On family fish fry night we used to have cheese grits, slaw or salad, my mommy's famous hushpuppies & lemon or lime slices. Most people did hot sauce (my uncles loved pickled peppers) and/or mustard. Never really saw ketchup at that meal 🌺

I've never tried either of the fish coatings that you've used to fry fish. I'm familiar with and use Zaterain's Seasoned Fish Fri. I don't add salt to the fish fry coating, but I do add lemon pepper and sometimes garlic powder.
I grew up using this batter. My mom loved this batter! 👍🏾

Louisiana Fish Fry is all that I use. I use it as it is........adding nothing to it but my fish of choice. I stopped using cornmeal with salt /pepper ages ago.

Greetings & love from Louisiana!!🥰 That Fish Fry is a staple in Louisiana homes! I prefer the unseasoned lemon flavor Louisiana Fish Fry. If I don't have fish fry, I'll use half corn meal and half flour. I've never used a wet batter. My family prefers catfish seasoned with pepper, seasoned salt, hot sauce, and mustard. Once it's seasoned, I toss it in the fish fry or cornmeal and flour mixture then fry it until it's golden brown. Add some homemade potato salad (no raisins😂), veggies, and garlic bread on the side. YUMMY!!

Hey Miss Donna. I know exactly what you mean. I dont like strong fishing fish. Lol. I have used that fish fry in the past and it great. I add a yellow or white cornmeal it my batter because it can be on salty side
Best catfish I have ever had cooked by my grandmother she used cornmeal with just a little flour maybe 1cup cornmeal 1Tbsp flour and some salt and pepper and would smear french’s mustard not a lot of the mustard sticks but the fish accepts the vinegar in it roll in cornmeal mix and into the oil. Of course you use however much cornmeal and flour you need for the amount of fish you have but that would be just about the ratio flour to cornmeal to use. The mustard takes out most of the dirt taste catfish has and then you can add whatever you like on it after it’s fried. I still cook it this way but this certainly has me interested in trying it. I think the hot sauce vinegar probably does the same thing as the mustard does. I guess she didn’t like a lot of batter on hers lol but this looks delicious!!I will try it ❤❤❤ love your videos!!!
