Excellent ranking. Great channel. I grew up with the Pixies. Hard to disagree with your ranking, although I think I would have to put Surfer Rosa first, barely beating out Doolittle, simply because SR has Where is My Mind and Doolittle does not.
Thx Ash. Very good ranking! Trompe le monde is my favorite. Most sonically powerful and best songs in my opinion. Saw them on this tour. Nevermind had just come out as well. I hope they tour after the pandemic and play Nashville!
Loved the video 👍 I’m doing my list with my personal favorite song on each album 8. Indie Cindy - Jaime Bravo 7. Beneath the Eyrie - Catfish Kate 6. Head Carrier - All I think about now 5. Come on Pilgrim - I’ve been Tired 4. Trompe le Monde - Trompe le Monde/ Head on 3. Bossanova - Velouria 2. Sufur Rosa - Gigantic 1. Doolittle - Debaser
Love the Pixies as you know, although Bossanova is my fave! Your enthusiasm really shows through, it is most telling that this is a band close to your heart!
9: Indie Cindy 8: Head Carrier 7: Beneath the Eyrie 6: Come On Pilgrim 5: Surfer Rosa 4: Bossanova 3: B Sides 2: Doolittle 1: Trompe Le Monde Opinions: Surfer Rosa is criminally overrated by critics. It's great for a first album and it does contain a few classics but in no way is it superior, overall to the later albums. By the same token, both Bossanova and Trompe Le Monde are criminally underrated by critics. I still fail to understand what the problem was. Everyone agrees that Doolittle is amazing, which it is but Trompe Le Monde just steps out in front for me by a hair. I haven't paid much attention to the last three albums if I'm honest but I recall not being impressed with Indie Cindy. So I stuck that in last and just put the other two ahead. I have heard a few tracks from the last two and was pleasantly surprised but I'm now nearly 40 and the Pixies for me will always be the original bunch of albums before Kim Deal left.
Interesting choices everybody. The Pixies albums that I personally have played the most, so therefore my favourites are:1. Doolittle 2. Head Carrier, 3. Bossanova, 4. Surfer Rosa, 5. Beneath the Eyrie, 6. Trompe Le Monde, 7. Indie Cindy, 8. Come on Pilgrim, 9. B Sides. I’m my opinion The Pixies are still going strong.
Trump le Monde is clearly their zenith. Francis was peaking artistically and the first Frank Black solo record would have been a Pixiea masterpiece.

Trompe Le Monde is my favorite also. Criminally underrated album.
Good list. "Doolittle" has to be my favourite "indie rock" album of all time.
Loved the video 👍
