Just know if you sell something for 1000 you'll get about 900 back in your pocket. The fees are egregious with PayPal's double dipping and that doesn't include cost of shipping, which you also have to pay for as a seller.

You aren't wrong. It feels bad getting 90% in your pocket after the completion of sale. But it feels like there must be a price to pay to have a safe place to go and sell a device. The idea being safe is relative, of course. What is nice about PayPal is that it does come with insurance on the transaction, and if anything does go wrong, PayPal will take care of you. I appreciate the time you took and leaving a comment here and sharing your thoughts.

If for some reason, the seller puts a stop payment on a credit card he used. You can ask Paypal to help you solve the dispute. I’ve sold on Swappa 20 times so far and I have only had one person ask for their money back before I sent the phone out. There’s plenty of ways people can find a way to rip somebody off. But you are taking all the correct precautions using Swappa. The buyer has to pay you first. Then you send the phone. Make sure to get insurance on the full price of the phone. When you go to ship it out. Make sure to only send it to their verified address. You will see it when the buyer pays for their phone and updates their shipping. If the buyer asks you to ship it somewhere else, ask them to update their shipping through Swappa. You can only send to the verified address. You can also ask the carrier that you use for shipping to ask for a signature upon the buyer receiving the device. This simply means that the buyer has to sign for the item. This way they can’t say they didn’t receive the device. And the shipping service you are using will not leave the device if no one is there.
Sorry about leaving a novel here. Any more questions go ahead and ask. I just have to let you know nothing is ever a for sure safe thing when it comes to selling your phone online. I understand what it feels like to be scared. I truly feel like this is the better way to sell a device. Hopefully this helps.
