I find an intresting that this school was founded by a descent of Salazar Slythrine who married a Human and is known as the least elitist schools in the wizarding world. If you were tell that to a kid at Hogwarts they would just look at you in disbelief...haha
Honestly if you think about it, Harry Potter universe is actually quite the thing just like Marvel and DC. Yes, maybe it doesn't have as many movies, or movies for every character etc., but everything in these movies is set up in one universe and there are a lot of Easter Eggs and history and other stuff to this. Harry Potter universe is a thing.
Since the school was founded by a descendant of Salazar Slytherin using Salazar's stolen wand it stands to reason the author may have hinted to its origin in the naming of the institution. For example, take the S from silver and it becomes Ilver; silver is one of the colors of house Slytherin at Hogwarts, and the numerology of Morny is the number 4; both schools have 4 houses. So the name could simply be translated as the silver 4th house of Slytherin.
I can't wait to see the real design and fully rendered footage of the Ilvermorny castle. I want to see how every room and hall looks like. I want to know the stories of the castle.
Instead of doing reboots of Hogwarts, I think this would be a great continuation of the wizarding world and keep people engaged and excited. I would watch and read this in a New York minute.

And it doesn't make sense for Japan to monopolize wizarding education, for China is OLDER than Japan in every single way. (one may argue that given China's prevailing non-magical community's Communist thought & ideology it would make little sense a wizarding institution might be absent in writing, in spite of Chinese presence in the FBWTFT movie) And also, given Japan's atrocious crimes against humanity in East Asia from the 20th century & peaking during World War II (& the resulting current anti-Japanese sentiment), I doubt China & Korea would send their students to the "enemy"

I'm American but.... HOGWARTS 4EVER! I could care less about Ivelmorny. Howarts is basically where I grew up, it has that special magic about it (pun unintended I literally didn't even mean to say that it just happened) that Ivelmorny could never replace.
