Without a doubt by far the best review I've see on laser printers and I'm pretty sure I've watched them all. I'm 73 years old, 3 years ago I started 3D printing for profit and now I'm adding this laser to my shop. Thank you so much for the good job on this review, I thoroughly enjoyed it. I just subscribed, I liked and I'm looking for to your next one.
Got my p2 on valentines day and on that day my boiler burst and damage all downstairs and luckly my laser which was still in the box on the floor, didn't get wet. I now can't wait to set her up once we get settle with all this water damage. I have no clue on how to use a laser but I know I'll get the hang of it soon. Really like your videos! Thanks for your work! Would really like to see the set up with the conveyer and the engraving on tumblers.
Good video. I like it being user friendly but I didn't see if it gives you an estimate of how long the job will be. Is this not a thing with Xtool software? I know lightburn has this, job time estimation and progress, but does Xtool?
Very interesting! I didn't realize how small and popular these lasers were becoming. I remember it seems like not long ago that only the businesses that had big money could afford a laser.
you almost got me sold on wanting a CO2 laser now. Similar to you, I am revamping my home office trying to get it in to production mode. I am about to get a 10w and 20w doide laser running with 2 3d printers as well. its just getting the time to get my home office and the "Rack" set up with all these machines. It is that fine balance of work & family. 3 nights a week I have swimteam practice or girl scouts, so that leaves very little time but is great for networking. But your walk through is a "common folk" or a down to earth, real person setup. If I purchased this machine, I would watch this video to setup in a heartbeat. Great video! Also - I made a piggy bank for my girls for x-mas: Imagine a basswood box, the face with a Minnie mouse head with the castle at the bottom cut out of basswood with a solid black acrylic background then a 1/4" thick read acrylic bow! then for the top of the piggy bank, I engraved their names and month of trip in Disney font, filled with super glue and glittered the shit out of that!! then went back over with more superglue to seal it in. it looks pretty badass! It's in part due to watching you, Adam, Diresta, Wilkersdo, Weasley, and some other rando's giving me inspiration and examples of what can be done.
Sounds like you have a plan. Just have to chip away at it a little at a time until the vision becomes reality. Sounds like a cool project. If you get a chance, email me a picture of it.
Great laser for sure , my wife loves hers and it has quickly paid for itself . Cleaning the mirrors is pretty easy but can be a pain to get the one in the back positioned correctly without touching the lenses just because of the cramped space ( and fat fingers 😂 ) if you cut a lot of wood the fan gets dirty fast and takes a little more effort to clean but still easy . Also doing a lot of wood she has found that the slats tend to get like a burnt sap residue on them that will transfer to the back of your new project so either clean the slats with with dawn power spray or mask the back of the wood to help reduce that transfer if its something you need both sides to stay clean. She has the conveyor and rotary too but hasn't tried either yet . Cant wait to see what cool stuff you do with this one too !
I recently cleaned my mirrors and lens due to engraving a lot of slate, I start at the back and moved to the lens. Put them back and started engraving again. WHHhhaaaaattt not working, damn and blast. Yes I did say naughty words. Had a 15 minye break checked the mirrors starting at the back. It then clicked into place and then it worked. A message from that, check the mirrors are re0installed correctly, or do not drink from the dumb dumb cup
@zedinator I know exactly what your talking about , my wife had cleaned hers one day by herself while I was at work and called me saying it wasn't working panicking thinking she messed something up but it was that rear mirror wasn't clicked in just right and after talking she rechecked them all and realized that's what was wrong too .
I've had a M1 for a few years - I was a kickstarter, and just pulled the trigger on a P1 & F1 from the Easter Sale - SO EXCITED!! Thank you for this video, it's totally confirming my purchase - keep them coming!
Good intro to the laser. You should try that air purifier on the monport. Would take some adaptors to go from 6 to 4 but might work if it is close enough
Im not sure. I deleted the small lettering on the rest of the coasters. I could have messed with it more and got it to work. Was running out of time to get it posted.
Hi there - can you please let us know what work tables you are using for your P2 in this video? One looks like a Husky workbench and one maybe a tool chest (the dark gray one with drawers at the end). I am researching the best work table for this model with the smallest imprint for my home office. Thank you!
The dark gray tool chest is from harbor freight. The other one is an adjustable husky table from home depot. The P2 is pretty heavy so i would suggest something beefier than the husky table.
May have to check/calibrate the mirrors. Clean the lenses. Make sure the distance from you laser head to the material is correct. That will definitely cause blurred edges.
Could you use this XTool to cut foam inserts for tool boxes? Can the X Tool then measure the outline for each tool, then apply the outline to cut out the foam for the tool to sit in?
I spit coffee when you were adjusting the table at the beginning....LOL!!! I wish I lived close to you. I'd work in your shop for free! I'd love to get my hands on one of those things!
I have a question... when you turn on your machine with the lid closed, does the laser head hit the left gas shock ? when i turn on my orange switch in the back with my lid closed, while the machine is going through its preliminary movements it hits the left gas shock.
@@SpicerDesignsLLC it is brand new so i dont think its damaged. if i turn my laser on and the lid is closed, the laser moves forward then back... hitting the left shock each time. i am sending the machine back... and they are exchanging it. i never see anyone turn on their machine with the lid closed.
Shouldnt have a probably cutting that. I just cut 5-6mm solid oak with it in my latest P2 video. Cuts through in one pass. Did you email me? I usually respond in the morning if you did.
Great video! I'm in them market for one. Does this software have the feature to automatically straighten your cut file on the material being cut? This allows you to lay the material on the tray without being perfectly square. The software recognizes the edges and adjusts if needed.
Im not sure on that one but that would be a good test. I think you would manually have to turn your design to fit on the image/ material. I dont think it actually recognizes the edges on the material.
Hey Kyle, nice laser! Xtool uses metric system EH! Sweet system for sure. Hope you can make some cheddar. Still tease with that kioti upgrade. Cheers 🍻
Gonna need to see how it etches metal. Thats the only thing I can see the Co2 doing much more than the S1 40W. Did you get another toolbox just to put the laser on it?
I did get that tool box for the engravers. I plan on building a laser engraving station here soon. Will make the engravers very quick to use and keep all the material and tools organized.
I'm a big DIY person. I want to make custom signs for my garden that are very elegant like a botanical garden. How hard is it to make basic text print files for each plant?
Its still there. Its in the back corner. Im in the process of organizing all the laser equipment and getting ventilation in place. Ill have more videos using it coming up
Id like to see them put a handle on the laser head. Seems to be no great way to grab it and move it to where you want it. I often get my fingers greasy from the belt. Im sure Im not the only one. By the way if you only wear 1 outfit you dont have to worry about reshoots. Besides the camera doesnt transmit smells.
If we retired, you get my wife to run the shop, and she's has a "little " experience with teaching, so we're good there...then you and I can get the other stuff done ...but can I bring all our toys too ???

Why would anyone buy this toy brand laser to operate a business? That’s like starting a construction company with Harbor Freight tools. For what this costs you could actually buy a pro grade laser.
@@BlueGeckoLaser kind of an ignorant thing to say. It is a quality laser. Do you have a reason as to why its not? And not everyone is looking to run a full scale operation. Starting a business is typically small scale and this can be used right in your garage. Do you have some actual information to share or just here to criticize?

Loved the Video, informative, and also had a few good laughs, great job!!
Thank you! I try to keep them entertaining.
I might have missed it but is the conveyor system for the P2 the same one used for the S1?
Its not. There is a different set up for the S1. Im sure its the same concept, just different sizing.
Why did it omit the “i” in the word “signs”?
Im not sure. I deleted the small lettering on the rest of the coasters. I could have messed with it more and got it to work. Was running out of time to get it posted.

Great vid 👍🏽What did you use to clean the dust from the acrylics sir ?

What are your settings for the clear acrylic? ( power, speed, and lines)
Id have to go back and look. They were predetermined in creative space. I know it was set to 200 lines

Really just the C02 tube over time. You can quite a bit of use out of them.
Do you prefer the P2 over the Monport 60W?
Hard to say. The xtool is more user friendly but the monport is capable of larger projects and more power. Depends on what your trying to do
First comment. Yeew! Been waiting for this one for a while ;)
Whats up brotha killer laser wish they would send me some to test lol
