    So i know this question doesn't pertain to this video but where would one order a alternator and belt for this same engine?

    • @ProWrenching
      @ProWrenching  Год назад

      Try marineengine.com. You can look up the parts using the model and serial number of your engine.

    So when you test the oil pressure sending unit by disconnecting the lead (should show zero on the gauge) and then ground it (should peg out high on the gauge) does this indicate that it's good or bad?

    • @ProWrenching
      @ProWrenching  Год назад +1

      This is a test to verify that your gauge is working and that you need to test the sending unit. It shows that it’s working

      @Pro Wrenching That's what I thought, but I just wanted to confirm. I'm still learning about electricity. THANKS!

      Question, do I need to have the ignition run for this test ?

    • @ProWrenching
      @ProWrenching  Год назад +1

      @@zaratrustraxss the key needs to be in the “on” position for the gauges to work so you can do the test. Key on, engine off.

    how do you actually test the audible alarm/buzzer to se if all sensors individually actually work?

    • @ProWrenching
      @ProWrenching  Год назад

      The information below is how to test the audio alarm system. My boat is old and just has the gauges no warning buzzer. So you just have to keep an eye on your gauges.
      Turn the ignition switch to the RUN position but do not start the engine. The horn should sound within 7-14 seconds.
      If the horn didn't go make any sound, connect jumper wires between terminal A and the positive battery terminal, and a jumper between terminal B and a good ground. If the horn doesn't sound, replace the system. If the horn does sound, go to the next step.
      Now connect a jumper wire from the end of lead C to the positive battery terminal, and a jumper from the end of lead D (tan/blue wire) to a good ground. If the horn sounds within 7-14 seconds, you"ve got a problem with the tan/blue wire running back to the engine (or some other switch).
