OK - this is THE lesson - don't waste time looking elsewhere! Finally, a way to learn quickly, but perfectly - for guitarists who already play well. Rob gets to the important stuff right away - and shows ONLY what's needed - with NO long intros, excessive talking, boring repetition, or too much theory. It's the way guitarists teach each other. It's about damned time I found a lesson on this level.
As a " Boomer" retired session player...I just came across your video. Dude , Congratulations! You are a great teacher. No show boating. Patient clear conscience descriptions and demos. You Rock Brother. I'll recommend your videos to new players. - Coop
of all the u tube music teacher that i saw? you are the best,,you explain it slow clear and step by step and its very understandable its only this time that im old and learning how to do leads because you teach very good thank you, you are a good teacher
Hey Rob, with this fourth installment on While My Guitar Gently Weeps. you have completed this magnificent tutorial and have created the definitive lesson on this rock classic on RUclips! Kudos and thank you for posting! Cheers! 👍👍👍
This old experienced guitarist just embarked on learning and practicing a duet with my 30-something year old (beginner) and we chose this song. I LOVE how you laid it out, explained and executed. I also loved your other related video on Clapton's licks throughout this song. Bravo for bringing joy!!!
Man you are a great teacher. Always know that Clapton is a legend, but seeing how you broke down these licks make me even more admire his phrasing, placement feel and timing. Learn a lot from your vids!
This is an outstanding tutorial, you made it look easy to play, but one can follow. With constant practice, I should be able to play these licks confidently. Thanks for sharing your talent.
Listening to these licks last night before bed to learn them today and BAM! Swift lessons is on the job. Great name btw, just saved me hours of countless errors figuring these out. Grade A break down as usual, not too much info just the facts. Marty Music is a fine channel but Swift lessons should be #1 on RUclips 🥇
I always thought it was George who did the solo. The song seems to be a sum of parts. But these licks sound like old blues inspired. Thanks for the lesson, I have learnt a lot.
Its so fucking helpful you telling us what we are playing and why. Adds a lot and i feel like im actually learning instead of just memorizing. The scales and shapes we are using. Great stuff man!
Have to echo all the other comments. You are a great teacher, player and singer as well. I just found a teacher like you locally and he is gifted like you. With my small hands and old age (75) I don't know if I'll ever get some of the physical bends, etc but I keep trying. I took lessons back in the late 50's, early 60's and the teaching was pretty bad. And of course no internet so I'm making up for lost time now. Thanks will try to learn this now.
great lesson explaining where and why Clapton made his note choices. Knowledge of the chords and music theory is a given but for an intermediate player this was very helpful thank you
My guitar teacher is going over this song and I surprised him with some of the licks I learned from this video thank you so much. Also that telecaster deluxe looks sweet.
You sing beautifully, you play a great rhythm guitar and now do lead like Eric Clapton! You are a superstar. I appreciate your descriptions of the scale types and minor & major keys. They used an effect on Clapton’s lead so it sounded less Clapton like and more Beatle like.
i have the same guitar like yours, but mine is a copy of a deluxe tele.. i love your guitar tutorial and covers..Keep it up! im a fan from Philippines..
Why oh why don’t more YT teachers tell you what chords you’re playing over? For folks like me, in particular, who have been rhythm players all our lives and just now learning to play lead. It’s impossible to say how much it helps.
Kind of the most important detail, because the chords dictate what you play, and visualizing their shapes and overlapping scales of course gives us the raw materials we use when writing and improvising.
Thanks for sharing this.....you did an amazing job analyzing the parts of this song by Clapton......one of my favorite Beatles songs....or should I say George Harrison songs...... Bravo
Great song, you have a great voice. If you can start all songs with just playing them and singing it would give me a better feel for the changes. Then go back to the lessons. Thanks!
Rob love your brilliant teaching, would you be so kind as to tell me which guitar model you’re playing on, although I’m sure I know, rather be precise to hear it from you & also which guitar strings & gauge are you using. Thanks a lot Rob. Love all of your Videos. God Bless. ☘️☘️ Noel

I like how you explain what's behind every lick instead of just explaining what notes to play.
SWIFTly jumped in there and covered the important part nobody else covered on RUclips! Thanks much!
of all the u tube music teacher that i saw? you are the best,,you explain it slow clear and step by step and its very understandable its only this time that im old and learning how to do leads because you teach very good thank you, you are a good teacher

Such tutors deserve recognition who focuses on the theory and what & why we’re playing it.

@@swiftlessons I agree and yet most YT videos don’t talk about chords or even what key the song is in.
